Chapter 9 - Letting Go

Brian drove Chloe to the cemetery. Where she got out once again to tell her parents what happened, he stood by the car watching her. Once again admiring her. She still glows even with the depressed aura around her. The sky turned dark and gloomy, almost matching her mood. Droplets of rain start to fall when Brian pulls out an umbrella and walks over to Chloe.

Chloe was deep in her conversation, telling them about the events that have unfolded earlier that day. Brian stood behind her not trying to listen, but when she gets to talking about the handsome man and how she is glad she never let Phillip have her virginity. Brian blushes, knowing this wasn't meant for him to hear. When She finished, she realized it was raining. She looked behind her to find Brian with an umbrella. "Um... how long have you been standing there?" She blushed hoping he didn't hear what she said. Brian wanted to ease her mind, but it would mean he would have to lie to her which he promised he would never do. So he decides to tell the truth. "Awhile, it started to rain and to keep you from getting wet and sick I came to cover you with the umbrella." Chloe looks him up and down. She feels the heat running to her cheeks. He had indeed covered her but forgot about himself. In return, he stood there his jet black hair dripping wet. She watched the rain fall on his perfect face sliding down his luscious lips. His soaked shirt clung to his skin, revealing the perfect outline of his six pack and his V line.

She had to turn away; his looks made her want to give him everything. "Let's go shall we?" He read the situation and tried to divert her attention. Not realizing that she felt the more he tried not to be sexy the sexier he got. Chloe stood up and walked next to him trying to share the umbrella. Both of them trying to find something to say, neither able to.

Once they get seated in the car, Brian asked where she wanted to go next. "I'm not entirely sure. I don't want to go home. Phillip is probably waiting for me. I guess I could go to the hotel. I'll need to stop for clothes though. " "Not to be presumptuous, but you could stay at my place for as long as you need." Chloe raised her eyebrow, giving him a look of surprise. He sees this look and immediately deflected because this look of her turned him on. "You would have your own space, room, bathroom, and even some spare clothes. Nothing will happen that you don't want to happen. You could take all the time you need to readjust." With this reassurance, Chloe found herself agreeing to his offer. Her scarlet face gave her emotions away. Thinking about sharing a roof with this man made her shy.

The car grew quiet; sexual tension rose with each passing moment. That was until Chloe's phone started to ring. She looked at the caller i.d. and saw it was Phillip. She ignored the call sending it to voicemail. Bryan watched her actions taking an accurate guess on who the caller was after Chloe's phone lit up with a voice mail notification she received a text message. 'Chloe, I know I have no right to ask but where are you? I'm at your apartment. There is no sign that you have been here. I'm worried about you. You just left with some random stranger, and no one has heard from you. If you don't call me soon, I'm going to the police with that guy's license plate number. He will go to jail for kidnapping.' When Chloe finished reading this, she lost all remaining respect for Phillip. How dare he? He acts like I'm a child who can't handle herself. Frustrated, Chloe kept making growling noises. Brian found this attractive, and when he couldn't stand it anymore, he extended his hand brushing her cheek, trying to gain her attention. Chloe's body reacts to this movement. Chills ran down her body and became intoxicating. Brian leaned down and kissed her soft lips. He kissed her tenderly, afraid that he will break her and expecting her to push him away.

Chloe was surprised by his kiss at first. She fully intended to push him away. However, when she lifted her arms the wrapped around his neck instead — pulling him into a deeper kiss. Brian noticed her actions lets out a little smile and kisses her deeper, more passionately. With things beginning to heat up between the two, Ryan cleared his throat to remind them of their location. Brian pulls away first. " My sweet, if you wish to continue this, we can do so at a later date. I apologize for kissing you. I shouldn't have done so." Chloe was a little disappointed at his words. She couldn't figure out why he said that when he, clearly, wanted the same thing she did.

"You don't have to apologize Brian. I would have pushed you away if I didn't want it" Hearing that she wanted him made Brian's body heat up again. He rolled down the window to let the cool air hit his face. "Chloe, I promised I wouldn't lie to you, so I won't. I want you, I really do, and usually, I wouldn't have a problem getting what I want. However, I did happen to overhear that you are still virtuous. I do not wish to take that away from you. I want you to want me to have it. Before that happens, you must love me 100 percent with all your heart. Right now that can't be said. You just found out your boyfriend was cheating with your best friend and she got pregnant. Before you can get over that you have to confront the problem. When you can do that you will finally be able to move on."

Chloe disappointingly sat next to the one person she couldn't have when her phone pinged two more times. This time it was a message from Phillip and one from Sally.
