I was looking out my window at the blood moon for a while now. The blood moon was as fasinating to me as learning a new game to play. My interested only peaked when I found a picture of a blood moon in one of my books around the age of four. I asked my mother why was the moon red when it is normally white. She told me it was on special occasions that the moon would shine the sky in red. On one of those special occasions I had entered the world as a new born. I wanted to know more about the blood moon after learning that knowdledge but my tutor told me I was too young to understand those concepts now.

I was told this afternoon that a blood moon would be visible tonight. This is how the sky would have looked like the night I was born around tweleve years ago. I sat near my window seal since the sun went down bouncing with excitement.

My mother was admiring me from my door frame. I never took after my parents in hair and eyes. Instead I have dark red hair that came out naturally and bright golden eyes.

"Flint, you should be asleep now," my mother spoke from behind me. Her voice was not alarming to me because her voice was never there till she patted my shoulder.

"Flint, did you hear me?" She gave me her best mom face through the back of my head.

"What did you say again?" I was not even looking at her since my focus was on the moon.

"It's time for bed." She said with annoyance assuming I was not totally listening.

"Can I have five more minutes to look at the moon some more." I looked at her with a bright smile.

"Only five so you best be in bed by then." She said as she turned away with a sigh. As she walked away she could only giggle at my amusment with the sun.

I was standing at my window several minutes till suddenly everything was black. When I woke up I felt the heat radiating from my body in waves of fire. My head was pounding like I was going to explode. My eyes hurt similar to being crush. I thought I was going to die. Then I quickly fell unconscious again the darkness holding me in a safe embrace. I woke up from my mother yelling my name and for help. In that moment, my mouth refuse to form words. I was aware but my vision was block.

~ two weeks later ~

Popcorn sat in my lap and glasses hanging from my nose while I sat outside. I was constantly moving my bleach blond hair out the way of my deep blue eyes to see. I was waiting for the eclipse to start.

"Glacia."

My excitement was covering up the sounds of the rest of the world, however, someone was yelling my name.

"Glacia!"

The popcorn escapes in the air as my body jumps from the loud voice. I was looking around expecting the worst instead I spot my friend Celena with a popcorn bucket on her head. I fell over with laughter.

"Ha. Ha. Ha." Celena she spoke while taking the bucket off of her head.

"Why were you calling my name?"

"Why are you outside with popcorn and sunglasses?"

"These are eclipse glasses for your information, but I'm waiting for the eclipse to happen."

"We are always out watching every eclipse if we are not in school."

"I have this strange pull to every eclipse which seems to get stronger with each one."

Celena was rolling her eyes as she sat down. I gave her t next to me. I was keeping an extra pair of eclipse glasses in my pocket. I knew someone else would join me.

"You owe me for the popcorn that is on the ground," I said giggling to my friend.

The day was turning into night, both of us knew that the eclipse was happening. As the eclipse was going on I began to shiver.

"Glacia are you okay?"

"I'm just cold. Are you?"

"I'm not cold at all. Should I go get your mom."

"Yes, please hurry."

Celena got up quickly and was running toward the house. I was shivering even more to the point my teeth was chattering. I was so cold it was like I was outside while it was snowing without a coat. Celena and my mother was running back to me as I fell over. I was so cold; I thought this was death. My body was not moving. I fell unconscious. My mom was talking but words refuse to form. I felt like I was going crazy. I was not able to tell the people I loved that everything was fine.
