Chapter 2 - Awaken

Flint

I set up in my bed while multiple wires were attached to me. After several days of being awake, my parents did not come see me. I thought of no reasons on why. The confusion of the events is growing while I was desperate for answers. I heard the pack doctor entering my room, for the seventh time since I woke up, while I was looking out the window slumping in deep despair. I glimpse at him while he was checking the medicine that attach to me. The same phrase for the last several days escaped his lips, the one I constantly lie to.

"Flint, how are you?" he asked with a sadden smile.

"I am fine." I paused for a moment, "Where are my parents? I want to see them." His eyes was glistening, but in a short moment he was looking away.

"Your father and mother love you very much and wish to see you." This was a different answer then he gave yesterday.

"But?" I knew there was something more he was keeping to himself. "Your father is doing his best to figure out why this happen." He paused while his head was looking at the ceiling.

"Your mother is fine." He was closing the door before words could escape.

My friend Austin came to visit me a week after I woke up. His feet stopping at the door frame with a surprising face.

"Flint were you not burned by the flames?"

My father, hours after the incident, arrange a pack meeting to confirm the situation my mother and I was involve in from the curse flames.

I was looking at my hands when I spoke, "I did set myself on fire but the doctor has not found a single burn on my body. The doctor also could not explain more."

My only friend took the seat beside my bed as he quickly change the conversation about the other pack children, repeating this action for a week. I was slowly getting annoyed by Austin happy go lucky mood. My depression would not let me see that Austin was grateful that I, his first friend in the pack, was still alive. After some time, I ask the doctor to deny visitation to my room. I was missing my parents. As the weeks went on without news of my mother, I gave up hope of ever seeing her again.

Glacia

I woke up with seven large blankets on top of me. I thought about the last events and the thought of having the flu came up. Till mom open the door of my room and when are eyes staring into one another tears fell from her face.

"Mom, what happened?"

"I thought you were going to die. I'm so glad you're awake."

"Mom?"

"When I ran up to you after you fainted, there was frost on the ground all around you. You had icicles coming out from your body." My mom was tearing up again to the point words were unavailable.

"What does this mean?"

"I can only guess that you will be a very special werewolf."

"How long was I out?"

"Two weeks. I had called the pack doctor but he could not find anything wrong with you besides being cold as ice."

As I was looking at the ceiling, I was wishing my thoughts had the answers.

Flint

I woke up from hearing my father crying. The only time I saw my father cry was when we lost my little sister before she was born.

My mother was seven months pregnant when another pack attacked. During the battle, mom and I were hidden in the basement. However, one of our own pack members betrayed us. The pack member wanted revenge for his dead mate. The murder was my father. The pack member came downstairs to warn my mother and I that the other pack was in the house. When my mother turned to talk she was punched in the face. Once she had fallen to the floor, he kicked her till she miscarried. The pack member took out a gun and with a smile on his face shot himself. For a long time, I had nightmares. When this event occurred I was only five. My parents never tried to have another kid after the incident.

"Dad, what's wrong?"

My father was trying to stop the tear as he touched my cheek.

"Flint, I'm so sorry my boy." My father trying to recollect his thoughts.

"Your mother is dead." My dad spoke the words while tears ran down his face.

The whole world was crashing down around me. I was screaming for several minutes till my father was holding me in an embrace as we continue to cry. I was left with even more unanswered questions.

Glacia

As I opened my eyes I notice snow and frost around my bed. A portable heater set in the corner keeping the frost restraint from the rest of the room. The weird thing was the immovability I was having. My head quickly looking toward the door while hearing a loud crash. A shatter bowl was laying near my mothers feet.

"Mom?"

My mother was crying while she set next to my bed.

"Glacia, I was.... so scared..." She was crying so hard.

"Mom, I'm alright now but what happened?"

My mother was rubbing at her eyes before answering.

"I am not sure myself."

"Can you explain what happened after I fainted."

"I will try my best." She took a pause, "When I ran toward you there was frost on the ground and icicles connected to your body. Almost like how your room looks now. The frost melts with hot water but the icicles will not. The reason you feel stuck because the icicles are connected to your bed and blankets. Anyways I tried calling the pack doctor but it took him three days to come to see you. He had no explanation. All he could tell me was that you were alive somehow because your body temperature was reading as a dead person would. He knew you were alive since your heart was beating and you were still breathing. Just every time you would breathe out it would be snow."

I was reaching for my mothers face to wipe the tears. When my hand was finally touching her face we were both surprise. The punchers in the mattress was telling the truth of the icicles once filling the holes. In some way space or form I was free.

"How long was I out?"

"About a week"

"Mom can you leave me alone. Mom, also I don't need a heater."

As I was watching my mom leave with the portal charger in hand, the world around me was coming to an end. My friend was gone and I was feeling hopelessly alone in this ordeal. The tears rolled down my face as ice icicles reappeared.
