Chapter 13: Making Sushi with Ice Elemental Fishes

Since the fishes are as fresh as they could be already. I don't need to worry about the freshness of the fish.
In one movement, I separated the head from its body. And then cut the fins of the salmon and the thick middle scales off. All in one movement without stopping. According to the books from this world, the fins and scales from the ice salmon are good for alchemy so I am saving them. The internal parts of the ice salmon were very useful for alchemy and other things, so I will also save it.
Hoh? The flesh of the Ice Salmon was very heavy for a fish that's not a Spiritual or Magical creature.
It's like I am butchering a cow and not a fish. It was very dense and tight. This was the first time that I met a non-spiritual fish -salmon- that has fresh are this heavy; so tight, and dense. It feels like I am cutting through rocks and not flesh. Trying to fillet this ice salmon was harder than I thought since I didn't use any strength for it. Wow, the energy was high enough for 10 digits... A bit too high, in fact. Not only that, it's a level 104 docile monster too. And wait... Vitamin F? What the fuck? Isn't vitamin F mostly found in plants? Ah- never mind. It came from the polyunsaturated fat. And what? 14,000 grams of protein? No wonder only a small piece of raw salmon was already enough to feed a level 3 magician for 12 hours straight.
For normal humans that don't have enough mana in their bodies to practice magic, it was a blessing and a curse since they don't need a lot of energy to function. Normal people only need about 20 points of energy per week to function healthily. In the orphan's cases, they had only about a third of that so far in their lives before they work for me.
For people of this world who was able to use mana and trains their bodies, the amount of energy that they need depend on their arts, body constitution, and mental realm. Normally, for low-level practitioners, 50 to 100 energy points per day were the minimum required. After all, it took a lot of energy to trains. For mid-level practitioners, 100-500 points of energy per day were required. For high-level practitioners, you need at least 500-1000 points of energy per day to function properly.
The average amount of energy that Karnosh City citizens need daily was not the same as Earth's citizens. In this world, the average calories that normal citizens need was about 3000 calories to 3500 calories for normal humans to function. For magicians, hunters, adventurers, that amount was easily 2-3 times. From about 5000-7000 calories intake daily. Each energy point that Bel-chan uses is 250 calories from the raw sources. This means that this fish alone has 190,049,581,260,000 calories total since the energy reading was a high number of 76,019,832,504!
That's 76 billion worth of energy!
Prince Yui's Black Knighthood was stronger than anyone else that I had seen in this world. That is because the amount of energy that they had consumed during their training was 10 times the amount that other practitioners have consumed.
The funds and resources that Prince Yui used on those knights were enough to feed a whole city the size of Karnosh City for more than 10 years. And yet, he used it on those knights yearly.
Using this fish, it was already enough to feed them for a whole year or more! The best foods that they eat daily wasn't even of this grade but it was close, the medicines that they use are from Prince Yui's own stashes, the methods that are best and most dangerous were given to them by Prince Yui, and not only that, they have Prince Yui as the teacher.
Comparing to the elite out there that every Kingdoms had trained, the Black Knighthood was in another whole new realm comparing to them. Which was why Prince Yui will never use them for politics. And this was also why he was not involved in this world's politics. Much to the shock of this Kingdom's Kings and his older brothers- because they all knew that if he wanted to involved in politics, then their kingdom would have been the strongest, most prosperous, and riches out of all the kingdom in this continent. Too bad, the only times that he involved himself in was when he created the Dark Knighthood, the Adventurer's Storage Backpacks, and a couple [small] things.
In this whole continent, only the Black Knighthood was able to withstand 3 large beast hoards and come out pretty much unscratched.
As for me? If I would to trains my body, mind, soul, and magic daily, I need at least 500 billion of energy per day- that's more than 1000 times the amount that the Knights used. Otherwise, it wouldn't do shit to my body. At my level, truly, I don't need to eat but I eat because I like eating. I hate eating pills like Tian Yuanle did to quench my hunger. So, I never eat those pills at all.
Even though I have tons of them inside my Inventory- in case I have to use it in an emergency. And no, I made them myself- not Tian Yuanle. The ones that he has was slightly different from my own since the materials that I used to make them was different; although, they both worked the same way.
It was no wonder why these fishes were so huge. It was a mutated bloodline ice salmon that have a spiritual content of 6%. The Almighty's blood must have caused the bloodline of these fishes to be able to absorb more energy into their body while causing them to eat less. This was why the meat was so heavy and pure with a lot of fat contents. Not enough Spiritual energy in their brain to turn them into a Magical creature or mutated beast, but it was enough to cause their whole bodies to enlarges.
The people of this world was lucky in a way. Since these fishes aren't hostile due to lack of natural predators. Had there been any natural predator within these regions, then those Ice-Elemental Fishes would have mutated and evolved into Magic Beasts, making it much harder to gather them. Now, if only they could do something about this cold, then it would have been easy for them to lure or bait these Ice-Elemental fishes.
Hmm... Why do I feel that the coldness won't be a problem much longer? Should I look into the future to see why that is? But... this feeling... No, it isn't sit in stone yet. I will wait a little bit longer.
It was not a wonder why these fishes were so pricey too. The amount of energy within a fish was enough to feed a whole city for a week. No, let me rephrase that. In this case, this fish alone was enough to feed Karnosh City for 16 days, total, with three meals per day for a whole 16 days. To everyone in Karnosh City- including the magic users and body practitioners like the knights and the soldiers.
Although; in my case, just this fish was barely enough to sate me.
Ah, this wasn't good. My stomach is grumbling for it. Fufufufu, it seems like this ice salmon was truly edible enough that my stomach actually reacts.
My hand moves, even more, faster now that my stomach deems this fish edible for sushi. I took out a large wooden bowl made from a tree called the Ice Gem Tree, and put some cold water inside it before placing the body of the ice salmon and wash it.
The blood... it's not red. It's freaking damn blue. Since I cut it so fast that the fishes probably won't even notice it's fresh being cut off, the blood didn't start to sipped out until I place the body under the water in the bowl to wash it.
Hmm, I wonder if there's any use for the blue blood of the ice salmon? Since these fishes aren't Magic Beast, their blood doesn't contain a lot of mana. However, they do have a bit of spiritual qi in their blood, so it could be used as a catalyst for potion or agents for other things. Just in case, I am saving them.
Wow... I know that the ice elemental fishes from this region do not have any natural predators but to think that they are this fat; this is a first-grade toro, alright.
Yeah, now I know why the fishes are this region was so damn expensive even though it wasn't a Spiritual Grade being. Even though this fish was just a salmon and wasn't a tuna, it was known for its slightly sweet taste in this world- it still has a lot of energy and plenty of spiritual qi for normal humans to strengthen their body with. The grade of fat was already otoro by itself, not to mention the meat parts that have a higher concentration of spiritual qi.
The only downside was the fact that these fishes don't have mana flesh, only spiritual flesh. If they have mana flesh too, then their price would have increased by 10 times. After all, with mana flesh beast's meat, it was possible to help the body of anyone cultivates- depending on the amount of energy it has.
In this case, if these Ice-Salmons have mana flesh along with the already spiritual qi flesh that it has, then, just one Ice-Salmon of this size would have cost more than just 40-50 Small Gold coins. No, its cost would be worth in Large Gold coins; about 20-50 Large Gold coins. Worth about 20,000 to 50,000 Galactic Credit on Earth- that's enough to buy five large State-of-the-Arts Mansions and its land. You wouldn't even have to pay tax and maintaining fees for the next 20 years. And that was just one Ice-Salmon with Mana-Flesh and Spiritual Qi Flesh.
Just like all the Spiritual Beasts that I have inside my Space Dimension Homestead. Or just SDH for short. Even though those beasts in my SDH were in lower grade compared to the Soul Bound beasts that I have in my Soul World Space, Magic World Space, and Spiritual Dimension- those beasts in my SDH was still a Spiritual Graded beast. They aren't normal by any means.

Resisting the temptation when I am hungry was no joke. This is a battle of will. And my Will is strong. Never had I said that my Will are weak.
Okay, next is deboning! And then dividing it according to parts... Although I don't think it's any use, all the parts are the same damn grade.
Then deskinning by separating the skins of the salmon away from the fresh. Damn, here I thought that the descaling was harder than I thought, turns out that separating the flesh away from the skin itself was even harder. The last step, salting the fresh salmon. This is to get all the extra grime on the surface off and to make sure that the salmon stays fresh. If it has any.
I don't know about you guys but I like to use the salt from inside my Internalized Space World when making sushi. After that, leaving it for 15 minutes and 20 seconds before washing off the salt on the fillet. The rest, was history as I lost my patience with the explanation.
All I will say is this: I made a large sashimi platter, five rolls of different kinds, three maki rolls, two temaki rolls, and enough different kinds of pickled ginger.
Truth to my stomach, I made all kinds of recipes with salmon as the only fish. Since I already have everything else in my own Inventory space, all I really need was the ice salmon. Ah, I also made some dashimaki tamago to go with the sushi too.
I made some for Little White too, which he loved it. Especially the raw salmon itself.
Ahh, I'm full. I wonder what else could I make the salmon with? Well, asides from grilling it, steaming it, and making soup out of it. Well, that's okay, there are enough salmon recipes out there. I just have to modify it so that the ice element salmon won't crash into the recipe's own theme and purposes.
Now then, what should I do about dessert? Hmm, the fruits that I picked up from the road would make be great as a dessert. Maybe making ice cream out of that? Well, this area here was already so cold so ice cream wasn't very good... so, how about baked fruit bars? Okay!
"Fllleeerrr!" Little purrs as he sniffed the air.
"Hmm? Don't worry, Little White. The fruit bars are also ready. You just have to wait another two more minutes." I said as I baked the fruit bars out in the opening using Fire, Wood, Earth, and Air elemental magic's.
The Fire was the heat to cooked the fruits. The wood is the fuel so that it doesn't go out since it was so cold here and the ground is very wet due to the snow. The Earth is to make sure that the snow doesn't melt and cause the area to unfrozen. The Air was to make sure that the smell from the fruits doesn't go around and only straight up to the sky.
This way, no beast, monsters or otherwise would come here due to the smell. Not that I had any problem with it but still. I don't want a bunch of monsters, beasts or otherwise to follow me because of me taming them using food.
I already have far too many monsters, beasts, or otherwise from other worlds that my External Spatial Space was full of it. The "House of Beast" within Bel-chan was already numbered in the quattuortrigintillion due to the amount of beasts/monsters or otherwise, I have already. I Don't Need Anymore.
Continue on, the next lake was called White Fall Lake due to the natural snow trees surround it. It was very beautiful and solemn. The picture has a naturally elegant, temper, call of purposes, atmosphere, and beauty to it that I am tempted to draw it.
Well, maybe I will. After I finished collecting the number of fishes that I want.
And then, I am going to go to a Japanese Food spree. Most of the food would be from what I eat when I went to Japan with my brother, to the Tsukiji Fish Market and the Nishiki Market in Kyoto.
Ahhh! I wanna go back to Earth! Any timeline of Earth! I want Japanese Food!
Mou~! If I can't go back to Earth, any modern earth, then I can just bring them to this world! It won't be the first time that I started a food evolution in another world.
What? How do you think that I got so rich? It's all the food! It's all the evolutions that I did in those worlds!

Sorry about that. Because the last world was a world that was in the middle of space, I didn't get to eat enough Japanese food so I suddenly... erupted.

It can't be helped since my taste bud taste is truly spoiled by myself.
In my original timeline of the 36th-century modern earth, the food culture had already gone through big evolutions into using real food to cook in anything that we eat. The drinks, the soft drinks, the soda, and those drinks that have a lot of artificial tastes were banned by the government worldwide. So, by the time that I was born, such things were a thing of history already. So, you can say that after my second world, which wasn't a world that I can take the time to evolves the foods culture, I am more or less start getting pissed off about the foods that the other worlds have. It was after my second world that I swore to only eat my own cooking and no one else.
Spending more than 50 years eating foods that aren't cooked by myself was already enough to make my tongue cry. So, yeah, since it wasn't like I have any purposes in any of the worlds that I went to, so the best I could do for my own selfishness was to evolve the food in those worlds that I been to previously to suit my taste buds. I have no regrets that I did such a thing, either!
How else do you think I gain the Title "Chef of the World" along with all the similar Titles from? Obviously because of starting a food evolutionary in whatever world I went through, of course.
It certainly wasn't from doing nothing.
So, yes, this world won't be an exception either. Not if I have any say in them. Not that I care if other people continue to eat crappy food but I for one, don't want to eat crappy food for sure so I will cook for myself. Properly.
And since I am starting a business, I might as well just open a restaurant instead.

Continue on, I went thru the rest of the lakes and collected/gathered more than ten thousand of each fish, including the Blue Seabeam, which strangely was the smallest fish among the ice elemental fishes here.
The difference between the Blue Seabeam here in this world to the ones that I know of, including from my original Earth, was that the Blue Seabeam here was smaller, longer and doesn't have a lot of bones. It is more similar to a catfish rather than a seabeam if not for the scale.
I already have ideas on what to make for the menu.
It would be a bit different from other restaurants that this world has, of course. This continent rarely has any fishes dishes unless you live near the sea. And not to mention, it was so freaking damn costly, too. So, my restaurant that I wanted to open will be the first of its kind- in my own way.
The Menu would be base on the time of the day and the season. For example, in this continent here, the Seven Days of the weeks, aren't called Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday but rather, it was named after flowers.
For Monday, it was Dahlia Day, Tuesday goes by Lilies Days, Wednesday goes by Tulips Days, Thursday goes by Orchid Day, Friday goes by Gazania Day, Saturday is Rose Day or Rosa Day, and Sunday is Lotus Day.
Dahlia Day(Monday) was the beginning day of every month. However, once every three years, a Red Orchid Day would happen due to the eclipse of this world's three sun, leaving out the last sun to shine like a star. And once every two years, a Holy Lotus Day will happen. That day is when the three moons formed a triangle in the sky, causing the normal pink or purple lotus to turned bright orange or pure white for the whole day.
That day is what this world called the Holy Lotus Day, or a better understanding would be called [Christmas]... Otherworldly way. As for the Red Orchid Day- that's the Valentine Day of this world- Although, it was much darker and sinister.
So, base on the day of the week, the week of the month, the menu would have different foods displayed for choosing.
Dahlia Day's menu would be different from Lilies Day's menu. Of course, the breakfast would always be the same but the lunch and dinner menu aren't.
Let's see, a somewhat traditional Western-Eastern breakfast would be okay. Hmm, for now, the first set of breakfast would be bacon made from orc's meat, eggs from the Cockatrice along with sausage made with Horn Rabbit meats, raspberry muffin with Flying Cow's milk, and a small cup of fruits from this world's pear, apple, and orange. Since I plan on having at least four sets of breakfast in western style, things like eggs, bread, and soup would be included in the breakfast menu. Things like egg soup, vegetable soup, and light soups that won't be heavy on the stomach are considered to be on the menu as the breakfast soup.
Eastern breakfast style, Japanese style, Chinese Style, Korean Style, Taiwanese style, and Southern Asia styles like Thai, Laos, Vietnamese, and the likes were also being considered.
Western styles were from the European region and from America. I guess one of the good things about being through different variations of worlds was that I have a large variety of choice of dishes that I can choose from.
Okay! I can decide on the Lunch and Dinner menu later. For now, let's go back to the Frozen Frost Fortress.

I have experience with opening restaurants from my previous worlds so I didn't stop to think it through. And since I will be using Bel-chan to help me make everything ahead of times, I don't need to worry about working too hard. Unless it was cooking for myself, I won't bother with the taste of the foods too much when it comes to other people's food.
And even if I don't put a lot of effort into it, Bel-chan's cooking status and the cooking level was only a level lower than mine. So, the taste would still be far higher than what the people of this world are used to.
Frozen Frost Fortress's guards welcome me back with a big and bright smile on their faces. Their faces red from the heat of the drinks, yet not enough to cause them to sweat. Sweating in this kind of weather was not safe so the guards made sure that they aren't sweating.
When I came back to the Inn, the two helpers welcome me back with relief expressions on their faces. Jily and July had probably intimidated them with their aura even though I warned them not to. Well, what can they do? They aren't decile animal. They're monster. It's their natural instincts to intimidates weaker beings.
"Wheeepesh!" The two Jules welcome me back.
"I'm back, Jily and July. Did you two behave yourselves?" I asked, knowing that they didn't do anything but still had scared the two poor workers. Not that I am any better since my own natural aura was already far scarier than the two monsters combined.
"Whimm..." The two Jules bow their heads, trying to say, 'Yes-we behave ourselves.'
I patted the two Jules and took out two pieces of fillets Ice Salmon, much to the shocks of the workers.
"Here, you go."
Jily and July happily accepted the Ice salmon fillets.
"Whee! Sheesh!" The two Jules happily munch on the ice salmon fillets- not caring at all that their drools was already making the floor wet.
Oh? It is because the Jules were monsters too?
Hm? What's that? A blue aura? The two Jules is getting stronger? Oh? Their eyes color changes too. Before it was light brown but now it was light orange.
Jily and July are getting stronger due to a large amount of energy within the Ice-Salmon's fillet.
"Whee~!" Both Jules bow.
A-re-re? Did I accidentally tamed these two monsters? Oi, I only rented you two! I didn't want to buy you two, too!

... This is... I see. So, this was the cause that slowly killed everyone.
The two Jules was shaking as they sense the power radiating off me. They aren't shaking in fear but rather from the senses of pure power that radiates of my body.
"Alright, let's prepare so that we can go back today," I said to the two Jules as I pat their head, trying to not scared them. They both calm down after a couple of seconds. The two workers who were behind me look at us puzzling since they can't feel the pure mana pouring out from me when I used the skills.
"Please let the Mistress know that we are leaving," I said to the two workers, who nodded in understanding and went back inside the inn.
While I was preparing Jily and July, a voice called out from behind me. Of course, I already know who it was.
"Ah! Master Shirin-sama!"
It was the guild master from the commercial guild of this fortress. What does he want from me?
"Leonardo-san, what's wrong?" The old man was sweating due to running all the way here from the commerce guild, which was about a couple of streets away.
"S-Shirin-sama, a-are you leaving?" Asked the guild master with worried eyes that speaks of his discomfort with me leaving this place.
"Yes, I am leaving soon. Ah, before that, could you show me the underground farms that you guys have?" I asked.
This fortress, Frozen Frost Fortress, had been surviving using the herbs, foods, vegetables, and plants grow ever since god knows when. If I probe into this problem, then yes, I would understand the problem but I didn't need to. Why? Because I already know why.
When I turned on my power using the skills that come with being omnipotence with magic, I found out that the ground, the earth, that they were using to farm wasn't normal.
No, it seems like this whole region, the Northern Asura Mountain Range wasn't normal, even for a magical world like this.
No, it was never normal.
The way how it forms into a snow region when this location itself doesn't have an ice mana pool, or that this location itself wasn't even in the North when it comes to longitude and location on the planet. For example, on Earth, Ireland is in the Northern Pacific Ocean region so it is very cold. That much was a fact and understandable.
However, this location, the so-called Northern Mountain Ranges wasn't even anywhere near the North Pole of this world. In fact, this location right here was in the middle of the equator in this world.
So, it has no reason to be called the Northern Mountain Range at all. Its real name was called Northern Asura Ranges, named after the Mage of Storm Ice called Allusura Northern- which was renamed to Nothern Asura Mountain Ranges.
And that man's corpse was what made the earth, the soil, that this fortress stood upon.
Before, when the soils were rich with mana, even if his power had turned this region into an Ice Region, the farmland soils had produced a lot of good that's very effective. If it was an herbal plant that growth here were used in potion-making then it would require only 1/10 of the required portion of herb, and that doesn't apply to only that.
That's right, the people in this region had relied on the land far too much. The burden they had placed on the land without developing their agricultural technology had caused the mana within the land to bleed off slowly over time. So, now, the magic within the land was nearly non-existent.
As a result, for the past hundreds of years, the land's yield was not as strong as it used to be.
For a Fortress City that has no connection to merchants due to their previous view of 'We already have that. We don't need anything from you merchants!' sort of way, this was the results.
Not only does this fortress located in a region that's cold year-round, where ice elemental monsters of all kinds reside in, it was also far away from other human cities or town, too.
So, their behaviors of not making any connection to other towns or city and their innate suspicious nature that always looks at everyone else not native as thieves had caused all the merchant to stop coming here since long ago. I was the only one that dropped by in the last 50 years.
The towns nearest to here also stopped coming so for the past 50 years, I was the first merchant to came by which was why the guards and the commerce guild was so excited by my presence.
I was worried that the Commerce Guild master might not have the authority to let me go see the underground farms but... I don't have to worry at all.
When the guild master successfully led me to the underground farm place, my first thought upon the sight was "What the hell is with this place?"
It was completely dried up. What the hell? How have they been taking care of the land?! It was no wonder why the people of this place was slowly to died off.
*Sigh*
I know from the land's memories that they didn't know how to take care of the soil but to thank that it was this dried up.
... How are they going to restore the land when it's this bad? This would take at least 20 low-purification spells, 20 Natural-Earthen Restoration Spells, and 12 mid-level Water-Spring spells. In other words, this would take at least 50 mid-tier level magician who has those spells to restore the land to be even close to useable.
... Where in the world would you find those 50 mid-tier levels, who can use those spells, and was willing to use that much mana to restore this land? Asides from me and Prince Yui, who else in this world might be able to use mana like this without thinking?
Mana deficiency isn't a joke in this world. Do you know how many people had died from mana deficiency and from overestimating themselves? No. There are a couple of people like that who's currently alive today but they aren't anywhere near this part of the world. One is in the capital, two in the far south Country in the Themossis Continent, one in Amanto Empire, two are in the Moltenils Continent and the last three are Daemon. However... Yeah, which one of those people would help out this little fortress city?

None of them would help this city.
And I won't either. Not only does it not going to help, doing so would only make the people in this city getting more and more spoil. They are just getting more and more useless without learning how to get over obstacles. Even if fate might have to lead me to this city, that doesn't mean that I am that kind to help them.

"What? Didn't you want me to continue to come here?" I asked with a slight tilt of my head. I didn't want to scare this guy so I did try to make sure that my aura stays completely still and calm.

Ah, he's gone already. I facepalm so bad as I saw how fast that man run away.
