After the battle of Fermin Town, the ongoing ones on the other border towns and cities also came to an end. No other enemy groups were able to perform like the one in Fermin, so they weren't able to create any pressure. With one border city being free of siege, Meredith could send more backup to the other areas now. The enemies were forced to disengage.
Contrary to everyone's expectations, the time allotted for the celebration of their victory, and the mourning of their losses had been cut short. They needed to make substantial changes in order to succeed in the following battles, and no one was exempt from it, even the weakest footman.
