Elder Lei stood and walked across the cavern, arriving before the cave of the Elder who had tried to trick Yun before. After arriving at his door he knocked loudly and called out to him rudely.
"Hey, crap elder, get out here."
Using a light, general voice he called out, so when the Elder opened the door with a furious look on his face he froze stiff in an instant.
"Elder Lei. . . My apologies, what can this one do for you?"
His anger instantly was suppressed and turned to some sort of sincerity as he tried to keep his facial expression under control.
"You're going to test a disciple for me. You will limit your strength to the Small Success stage of Body Tempering. Please come this way."
Elder Lei turned and calmly walked back to the center of the cavern before motioning the other Elder where to stand.
"Yun, you will use your strength to try and suppress this Elder, he will limit himself to two stages higher than you in Body Tempering. Begin when you're ready."
After saying this Elder Lei sat back down leisurely on his chair, a smile on his face, as he prepared to watch a good show.
Yun calmed herself before beginning the fight, then withdrew her spear and prepared to attack this Elder who was being punished.
Charging forth suddenly, Yun slashed out with her spear at an incredible speed. The Elder she was facing was startled at her assault and hurriedly brought out his fighting sticks to counter. These were two one-meter long hard wood sticks used to break bones and inflict heavy blunt wounds without hampering the user's movement with cumbersome heavy weapons.
After nearly twenty exchanges where the Elder was forced back step by step he finally used a battle skill to push Yun back away from him and create a little space. With a smile she slid back a few meters and looked at him.
"Is that all you've got, Elder? I won't be able to use any of my techniques if you can't even keep up with this pace."
The Elder's face blackened and he began to gather his power, then his face blackened even further as he remembered he was limited to such a low cultivation with Elder Lei watching. He swore in his heart that he would find trouble for this golden child.
Yun smiled before charging forwards again, striking out even faster than before and using even more tricky attacks. This time the Elder seemed to have no difficulty parrying her strikes and looked to be about to step in and close the distance when suddenly he had a strange feeling and glanced around himself to see he was surrounded by incoming spear shadows. She had executed Golden Fluttering Spear technique! Focusing, he executed a battle technique of his own that created a blast of energy around himself, just barely pushing back the spear images before he used it again to destroy the images.
Yun smiled, "That's a little better, but hopefully not all you have, Elder."
Suddenly the tip of her spear released a slight crackling sound before a new sound permeated the air.
Chi chi chi chi chi chi chi chi ~ ~ ~
This sound was gentle, subtle even, but constant as a blue fire engulfed the blade of her spear and traveled down the first foot of the staff as well. Again she began to attack the Elder, this time trailing blue wisps of flame with each movement of the spear, creating an almost constant dome of blue flame between them. Each time the Elder blocked a strike he felt a strange sensation in his hands, like the force of the strike was enough to numb him.
His eyes widened as he suddenly recalled what this technique was, the Brazen Moon Flame! He immediately used his own Qi to coat his weapons and hands to defend against the numbing effects of the Lightning elemental energy.
Through a few more intense collisions he began to feel yet another sensation, as though this space was much hotter than usual. He disregarded it as the chamber was near a lava tube, but soon after he noticed arcs of lightning energy moving across his fur and randomly in the air and began to pay more attention to his surroundings. What he noticed astounded him.
Across the entire large cavern the temperature had risen significantly, removing the moisture from the air like a blast furnace with updrafts of heat. Little arcs of lightning were constantly appearing randomly everywhere in the cavern, even on the table that Elder Lei was sitting at. He knew at this point that it was definitely not some natural phenomena, but a battle technique triggered by this young Vulpis!
How terrifying was her strength to be able to impact the environment of such a large cavern so completely with heat while still maintaining other elemental skills! At this moment, as he was distracted, the side of the blade of her spear smacked against his shoulder and sent him rolling across the floor, his arm trying to go numb.
Tumbling a few meters away he stood up to see her standing cockily in the center of the cavern with her ankles crossed, leaning on her spear, relaxed. As he saw this he knew there must be something and became hyper-vigilant.
Left!
He swiped out with his fighting sticks and felt that he had hit nothing.
Right!
Again, he missed.
Above!
As he looked up and reached up to block he saw two spears, one fiery red and one pure white with a purplish hue around the edges, smashing down from above. He was confused, astonished, but had no time to process this. He immediately blocked the heavy blow from the two spears and slid back a few meters! Looking up he saw the two spears spinning rapidly, almost forming a solid visual object, around Yun as she continued to stand there grinning.
"This can't be possible! Rrrrraaaaaagghhhhh!" The Elder charged forward, intending to take the grin off Yun's face, and was beaten back by the whirling spears without being able to fight back. This battle was to test Yun's ability to use her skills together, and it seemed that she would be fine. Suddenly she withdrew the spears and stopped their whirling, instead having them hover beside her and controlling their movements directly.
She struck out with another Undaunted Crescent Moon Slash, but this time both of her Argent Spears executed the technique as well at different angles, forming three intersecting crescent slashes that cut off retreat for the Elder.
