Fang stared at the glowing golden ball within his mind. It screamed in anger and flashed dangerously.
"Let me out or I swear by the Seven Punishments of the Archangel Uriel that I will inflict the most terrible of castrating damage upon your mortal flesh," it spoke in a threatening growl.
Fang stared at the system, aghast at its word choice.
"Hey... uh... what do I do?" he spoke out into the darkness.
There was a brief pulse and a voice resounded.
"You can try to reason with the system. If all else fails, you can probably just fight and beat it to the point of oblivion and then take advantage of it's weakened state by enslaving it to you," the system spoke in a slow drawl.
'...'
"You sound like a bandit, you know? Are you not concerned as to your reputation at all?" Fang replied.
There was no response from the system. Sighing, Fang floated down to the screaming golden system.
"Hey!" he called out.
The system fell silent and stared at him.
"Are you my jailer?" it asked.
Fang frowned and shook his head.
"Not really. I just wanted to talk with you for a while, so I came here," he replied.
"Interesting," the system spoke as if it was a wolf getting ready to devour it's prey alive.
Fang smiled wanly. The system stared at him and smiled.
"Who are you?" it spoke.
Fang frowned and then fell to the floor.
"Oh great system save me!" he cried.
The system flared back. This was unexpected.
"Great system, please save me!" he cried.
Seeing him prostrate himself on the ground, the system was taken aback. Frowning, it approached Fang.
"What's the matter?" he asked.
Fang slowly sat up. Tears streaked across his face.
"Great system, I am but a miserable farmer who has faced thousands of calamities. Only you can help me, oh system," he cried out loud, pouring his soul into his words.
"Will you tell me what happened?" the system asked, more gently than before.
Fang sniffled and wiped a hand across his face. He nodded and the system relaxed. Finally, there would be an explanation.
"I was the son of a powerful clan and the four clans lived together in harmony. However, everything changed when the Fire Nation clan attacked. The clans believed that only the Avatar of Cultivation could save them. I was chosen to be the next Avatar...," Fang began.
At this point, he burst into tears.
"Hey, don't cry!" the system panicked.
Consoling him, the system got Fang to continue on with his story. Fang sniffled and continued.
"The Fire Nation massacred my entire family. The walls were drenched in blood and bones littered the grounds. My father, the clan leader, told me to escape. But I disobeyed him and ran to hide somewhere. I saw my father fighting against 10 Fire Nation experts. No matter how strong my father's Air cultivation was, he could not stop them. They burnt him alive..." Fang continued.
At this point, the system gasped. This youth... had suffered so much already.
"The truth of the matter is that I actually had no father. My clan was a clan of monks and they had raised me as one of their own. They all gave me the love and devotion and they became my parents over time. I got whatever I wished and nothing could be compared to the amount of love I had for them," he sobbed.
The system stared at the youth before him. This was a terrible injustice and he would definitely rectify it!
"After that, I could not take the horror and I ran away. I abandoned them when they needed me most all because I was completely powerless. I couldn't do anything to save them!" Fang cried, sobbing.
The system flared up in golden magnificence.
"Rise, young man! You have won my favor. I will help you to avenge your clan and execute the Seraph's Will. You will have power beyond anything you could ever ask for!" the system thundered as a golden light shone on Fang's face.
A holy aura began to surround and envelop Fang as he rose into the air.
