In her office, Ha Eun opens a bottle of champagne. Although she couldn't get Woo Yeon to go to prison, with this, she can at least never see him again.
"It's still morning, madame. Are you sure you want to drink right now?" Jin Hyeok asked her.
"That man will finally be out of my life for good. This calls for a celebration," Ha Eun tells him, getting up from her office chair and filling another glass cup for Jin Hyeok. "Here, cheer with me!" Jin Hyeok isn't one for drinking, but Ha Eun looks happy, so he grabs the cup and congratulates her. She indeed got rid of Woo Yeon, but she also managed to expand the Oh Group, something Mr. Oh always wanted, but he never imagined by expanding it Ha Eun would actually blackmail someone. She was rather ruthless when she wanted to be.
"It's great that Mr. Chung cares more about his reputation than his son, or this would have been much more difficult," Ha Eun said, "Now I can go to Chang Wook!" she said happily, but then a frown appeared on her face, and she sat on the sofa.
"What if he doesn't want to see me?" she asked Jin Hyeok, "What if he yells at me and asks for a divorce? I can't believe I told him I loved him. I'm so embarrassed. I told him I loved him, but...he didn't answer. Oh, but of course, he couldn't. We were at the hospital, and he was in pain; he probably doesn't even remember, but what if he does and he doesn't feel the same way? No, we've kissed; people that don't have feelings for each other don't tend to kiss, but we kissed a long time ago, feelings can easily change, but that kiss was very passionate..."
Jin Hyeok had no interest in hearing about Ha Eun's love life, especially how they kissed, so he coughed to stop her from talking. She looked at him, confused.
He couldn't help but grin. He had never met Chang Wook in person, but over the months, as he checked up on his health as asked by Ha Eun, he found out one thing, Chang Wook loved her more than she thought he did. Even a blind man could tell. Chang Wook was obviously waiting for her desperately, yet here she was, thinking he wasn't. He is more likely to burst into tears thanking the heavens that she didn't leave him rather than scolding her.
"Everything will be alright, madame. If you want, I can prepare a flight for Jeju right now," he told her. Ha Eun widened her eyes as her cheeks reddened.
"Right now?! No, no, no! I…no…my…my heart…no…. not…not…it's not ready!" she was so surprised by this that she stumbled across her words. Jin Hyeok tried not to laugh as he wondered how Chang Wook would act if he saw this trainwreck.
"Stop it," Ha Eun told him, "I know you're laughing. If you keep laughing, you'll get a pay cut," she added.
"Madame, I know you wouldn't be so heartless," Jin Hyeok said. Ha Eun sighed.
"Wow, you don't even fear me," she said.
"I do a fantastic job; rather than fear, I worry you don't praise me enough," he said. Ha Eun's mouth went slightly ajar as she scoffed. She could fire him for his impudence, but he was right; he's fantastic at his job, but the fact that he knows it annoys her to no end, especially his need to always be the one with the last word.
As the two enjoyed their drink, her office door suddenly burst open, and a furious Woo Yeon walked in. Ha Eun's mood suddenly soured. Jin Hyeok, on the other hand, was ready to call security in case Woo Yeon tried anything.
"I've done everything right. I've given you flowers, and I've invited you on dates. I complimented your appearance. Have you seen people online? They've said we make a good couple and merging our companies would bring benefits! But you suddenly do a takeover and make my father send me away?! I thought we were doing good, " Woo Yeon said.
Ha Eun sighed, sure people would think they would look good together. Everyone knew that the Oh's and the Chung's had a good relationship, and seeing as the two families had children of the same age, it was no wonder people would think that Ha Eun and Woo Yeon would marry and now that Chang Wook is nowhere to be seen there has been talk that Ha Eun would marry Woo Yeon but she was sure all that talking online was incited by Woo Yeon himself.
"I made it perfectly clear that I didn't want anything to do with you. I thought you grew out of me when I moved away and rejected any type of contact with you. I even made sure to make it crystal clear when I got married, but you refused to see the signs even though they were staring you in the face. Although you were stupid and a bit of a sociopath, I thought I could grin and bare it, but that was until you put your hands on that little girl and my husband…"
Ha Eun was going to continue, but Woo Yeon suddenly grabbed the glass cup in her hand and threw it against a wall, shattering it into pieces. "He's not your husband!" he yelled. Ha Eun was scared by his sudden outburst but maintained a composed demeanor.
Woo Yeon noticed how she looked at him. She looked at him with disgust, as if he was a pebble in her shoe or dog shit she had stepped on. No, this can't be his Ha Eun.
"He's not your husband!" he repeated. "I'm supposed to be your husband," he said as tears streamed from his eyes.
Ha Eun grabbed Woo Yeon by his tie and pulled him closer to her. She then whispered in his ear, "I've always hated you." She then gestured to Jin Hyeok, and he took that to mean he should call security.
Woo Yeon grabbed her by the wrist, "No, this isn't you. You love me; you've always loved me since we were kids. You just married Chang Wook for appearances…you…." Ha Eun suddenly slapped him.
"Let go of me, you bastard!" Ha Eun yelled at him. The shock from the slap Woo Yeon received made him let go of her and slowly walk back. He couldn't believe Ha Eun was treating him like this. Suddenly he heard many footsteps. When he turned around, he saw four men in black suits. It was security. He couldn't believe Ha Eun actually called security on him. He might have gone a little too far, breaking the cup and yelling at her, but that wasn't enough to kick him out!
"Ha Eun, everything I've done, I've done for us," he says with a saddened expression as if begging her not to kick him out.
Ha Eun looked away, holding back her tears, and said, "Get him out of my sight." Woo Yeon falls to his knees. He can't believe Ha Eun would discard him like this without even having a proper talk with him. The guards walk in and grab him. Before he could even stand up, they started dragging him away.
"Ha Eun, please! Let's talk about this!" Woo Yeon begged as he was being dragged out, but for Ha Eun there was nothing to talk about anymore. She was done with him and will never again come into contact with him.
'Let's never meet again, Woo Yeon,' Ha Eun thought to herself. The doors closed, and she continued to hear Woo Yeon scream her name. It wasn't until she couldn't hear his screams anymore that she started taking deep breaths and realized she had been holding her breath.
"Is it finally over?" she asked Jin Hyeok. He nodded with a grin as he patted her on the shoulder. Ha Eun let out a chuckle, and for the first time in months, she felt at peace, like a huge weight was lifted off her shoulders.
"Shall we go see your husband?" Jin Hyeok asked her. She didn't want Chang Wook to see her like this, and after 2 months, what was she to say to him? She should have left him at least a letter, and what about her in-laws? They definitely hate her for not visiting them or Chang Wook, especially when he was in the hospital.
"Stop overthinking; you're going to get a migraine," Jin Hyeok told her, "Besides, I'm willing to bet everything you're worrying about won't come to happen," he added with a smile.
Ha Eun wasn't convinced, but she agreed to go. She's Oh Ha Eun, president of the Oh Group; she can't be afraid of a man…but this man is not just any man…he's her husband…No! she's a strong independent woman! she will not show fear in front of him!
…
When the two of them reached Jeju Island, Ha Eun wanted to go back.
