As their family enjoyed themselves, time slowly cought up with them. Acouple months passed, and now it was Christmas Eve... "Aaron, do you know where the ladder is?" Aaron looked back at Peyton. His cold blank stare turned to a puzzled look. "Why do you need a ladder if you have me. You sure liked climbing me last night." Peyton threw a pillow at his head and it landed in their open oven. "Oh Shit! Quick get it out!" Aaron grabbed the flaming pillow with a pair of oven mitts. "Why am I doing this!?! You threw it!" Peyton smirked as he put the fire blazed pillow in the cold running water. "You deserved it." Aaron turned to glare at his wife but ended up meeting her lips as she kissed him wildy... "Do you forgive me?" Aaron smirked as he grabbed her by the waist. "Maybe..." He smirked over at the table and grabbed the piping bag off. The frosting started to drip all over Peyton's cheek as she shreeked. "AARON! How dare you!" Peyton ran to the left over frosting by the microwave and spread it all over his hair. "Hey!" They both stood frozen in their tracks. "I leave you alone for 2 minutes and you destroy my kitchen!?!?" They both stood further apart, and frozen. "Sorry Maya." Maya put her hand on her hip and looked at her pillow, burned and soaked in her sink. "Peyton really. I know it was you." Peyton shrugged. "Sorry. I meant to aim for Aaron... Not your oven." Maya chuckled. "How did you miss his big ass head? Thats a hard target to miss." Soon both women were laughing. "Hey! My head isn't that big." Peyton laughed again. "Niether is your-" Before Peyton could finish her sentance Aaron covered her mouth. Aaron whispered in her ear "I told you, Its avarage." Maya couldn't help laugh. "Come on. Jin is like a foot shorter than you, and compared to yours his is like an elephant trunk." Aaron glared at his sister in law, at a loss of words. "How the hell would you know that?" Maya and Peyton both laughed this time. "Honey I'm sorry but we three ladies share everything." Aaron rolled his eyes. "Of course you do." Peyton smirked back at him. "Yeah keep rolling your eyes. You might find a brain back there." Long story short, this continued for about 12 more minutes, up until they had to go check on the kids.
As they rose up the steps, they heard the faint sound of snoring. When Maya pushed the door open a crack she saw the most peaceful scene in the world. Iris and Mei were cradled in a crib. While Atka was fast asleep at the cribs edge. And Atticus, curled in a ball with Kenai, in his dog bed. "Awww." As you guessed it, the three of them started taking pictures. And soon once Jin and Katlyn came for the night, so did they. You could tell something was boiling up in Jin. It looked like he was very nervous. But he looked like he was eager to do whatever he was planning.
They served Dinner around 6 pm. Enough time for Atticus to go to sleep at 8. For parents to drink alchoholic eggnog. And for them to scramble half drunk to put the gifts under the tree. That was the plan anyway. But Jin had added a small suprise in the mix. In the middle of dinner, Jin stood up. He didn't look good. He was pale, and very tired. He raised his glass and clinked it with his fork. "Excuse me. But I wold just like to make a toast." Soon everyone went quiet as Jin cleared his throat. "It has been fun getting to know you guys, and you have made me feel like I have a family... These years have quite essily been the best years of my life... But one man has made it even better. This is our dirst Christmas without him. I know I didn't know him as well but... He would have wanted us to celebrate without him. So I give this toast, to Daniel!" Everyone raised their glasses. "To Daniel!" Jin stood quiet for a second as he took a deep breath. "Now... Katlyn. I know how much you loved your brother. Relied on him. And I want you to know he loved you. He cared for you, and that Aaron will continue to do so weather I like it or not." Everyone paused to laugh. "But Katlyn. I hope you will allow me to do the same. I know that I proposed a little while back. But I still havent had the honor of picking you a ring. So to you Katlyn Dàk. I give you this..." Jin kneeled down to reveal a beatiful black diamond. It was clear like a normal diamond but had specks of what looked like charcoal in it. It was beatiful. It reminded him of Katlyn. Rough but beatiful. It sat on a beatiful silver ring, surounded by others like it, but smaller. And on the side of the band, was a beatifly carved leaf. Curling around to bend around the diamond. "Jin! I-I... I have no words... I-I love it!" Jin placed the ring on her finger as she jumped on him and kissed him everywhere... "Okay. Okay. These two may only be a couple months old and wont remember this, but Atticus is a 6 year old with eyes! Please save it for later." Everyone laughed that time... They all sat down, and enjoyed the meal.
When it was time for bed, Atticus insisted his Aunt Peyton tucked him in. "Okay. I have double tucked your sheets. Atka is here. And Kenai. The babies are near the door. Are you okay? Feel good?" Atticus nodded. "Okay goodnight bud. Love you." Before Peyton was near the door Atticus yelled. "Aunt Peyton wait!" Peyton turned to find herslef in a tight hug. "its good to have you back this Christmas." Peyton brushed away his hair and smiled as she kissed his tiny fourhead. "Its good to see your sweet littke face again. I love you Atticus. Now, sweet dreams." She place Atticus in bed, and he was out, instantly. It was going to be a good Christmas this year... Peyton could feel it...
