Cory was waiting for Mandy to come out from the door. She was still conscious since the time she came out from the room. She was very thankful when the trial given to her was underwater. The room was filled with water, with sharp razor turbine placed at the bottom. It was making a huge current which take her down to it. She must come up with an idea to stop the turbine before it will slice her up.
Lucky that she was able to manipulate the water around her, before she got dizzy from the current, she was able to stop it. But, as she stopped it, the engine overheated which resulted to explode. She only got few bruises from it.
She knew they have different trial, since she noticed the other students with her have different wounds. It was already an hour passed, but Mandy had not yet come out from the room. From what Cory observed earlier, they were conspiring on Mandy. It looks like they have a huge grudge on her, which made her worry. She already knew from the influence of Leah, she could easily manipulate the council. Leah has a huge impact in the council, and they really respected her due to her influence and outstanding performance.
Back to the trial room, they were silent as they watched Leah entered the room where Mandy was. They all thought it was Leah's idea all along. She was the one who insisted on pressuring Mandy to her limit and get the answer they want. But, they could not imagine that Mandy would not state any answers even though she can lie to them.
"Leah it's yours now. How are we going to hide this?!" said by the tentacle creature who was with her earlier. Leah has a face of regret from the event, that's what he seen her. He came to her and path her back.
"We can't undo what just happened. You must accept it." He knows Leah, but he was not expecting her to have that expression. For all the time he was with her, she was a kind of creature who rarely cares too much whatever situation might happen. There was other crime they've made but it never concerned her. 'But, what's the difference now? Why did she felt guilty towards her?' Patrick set aside his questions and just comfort her.
'How can she not survive that? I thought she could also use fire? Or what else could she turn herself more than hot than magma? How come she was not using it? Is she really dead? I could not accept this! She defeated me, she should have survived it.' Leah contemplated from the incident as she was still looking in Mandy's body not moving.
"We have to clean this up now, before anyone could notice." She said. Patrick ordered the other creature with them to gather towards the room, telling them what to do to Mandy's body.
They've slowly removed the arrows from Mandy. As each arrow they picked from her body resulted a winced from them as if they're the one who felt the pain from her. As the arrows slowly gone from her body, they placed her in a cloth bag and moved her to a bed.
"Take her to the incinerator, make sure that no trace found from her." He stated as he leave them do the rest. He lead Leah out of the room, but as they were about to open the door, they heard a commotion from where Mandy was.
"Sir! Ma'am! She just moved her arm!"
"Holy cow! How is this happening?!"
"Hey! Look at her wounds, it was vanishing!!"
"The blood was also vanishing!"
"Be careful! She might do something!"
Patrick was following Leah from behind, as she went back where Mandy was. It was an intriguing sight as they watch Mandy slowly heal itself. Leah hang her jaw in the air. Its been a long time since she witness this incident, it was when she first entered the academy. She witnessed a duel with some student with a dominant student creature at her first glance to it.
It was the great young Lord Morgan, which swear to be not moving from the spot where he stand. Even though he received so much injury from the opponent, he easily healed himself. When she knew who the great student was, she admired him for the rest of the time she stayed on the academy. That's why she decided to enter the student council to be with them.
But now, she could not believe that Mandy could do the same to herself. 'Who are you really Mandy Frost? Why are you trying to hide your identity?' she could not help to ask to herself again.
Finally she heals all her body's injury, but she was still not conscious. The creatures around her were frightened to even get near her, but Leah made them surprise as she went towards Mandy and check her pulse. She was indeed alive.
"You can move her back to the room of the other candidate student." Leah instructed them. They do it as what she instructed them.
"Leah how is this possible?" he asked her, but Leah could only shake her head since she also have no idea.
"One thing I only know Patrick, she have the same ability of Lord Morgan." She stated, as they watched them leave the room.
Cory got up when she heard the clicking of the door opening. It did open, revealing Mandy who was silently sleeping in the bed. She noticed the shredded cloth she have, it seemed like multiple bullets was fired at her. She felt relieved that Mandy was fine as she saw her normal breathing.
Few minutes later, a smoke came out from each of their cages. Cory felt a sudden heavy of her eyes as she slumped in the floor.
From the bright sunlight, Mandy squinted her eyes as she stretched her hands to fully awake. She scanned her surroundings as she confirmed she was back again in the infirmary room. She put aside the blanket above her as she tried to get up. From her sudden move, she felt a slight jolt from her body. She tried to recall what just happened to her yesterday. It only made her shiver as she recalled how it felt to be pierced by hundreds of arrow in her body. She touched every part of her body to check if there are indeed wounds all over her body. She sighed as she confirmed she was fine. She stopped as she realized how could she survive that?
A herd of footsteps interrupted her train of thoughts. The curtain was moved abruptly then it revealed her group of friends.
"Mandy, why do you keep us worried about you?" Grace stated as she immediately embraced Mandy. Chris pulls her as he motioned to Mandy's condition.
"You always got carried away with your emotion Grace." Chris stated at her as Grace was wiping her tears as she muttered sorry to him.
"We were glad to hear that you are fine Mandy." Heart stated while squeezing slightly her hand to reached Mandy how she felt relieved.
"We were so worried when we heard you fall from the veranda of the Academy's Council Palace." Julie stated which made Mandy confused. It was different from what really did happen to them. That is when Mandy realized how the student council manipulates the actual news to them. No wonder the academy have no idea about it. But, how come the rulers are taking a blind eye on it?
"It's a good thing you only have a minor injuries." Chris stated as he beamed a warm smile towards Mandy, which she could only answer with the same light smile.
"Yeah, you don't have to worry guys, I'm perfectly fine." She hold her right shoulder while rotating it, to show that she was really fine. She doesn't know what the student council might do towards them if she tells them the truth or if they would believe her story about it. But, its safe they don't know for now.
Later in the afternoon, since she turned out fine already, she was sent back to her dorm room, where she was escorted by her friends. They did not stay too long in her room, they bid goodnight as they went back to each of their room.
Once she was alone, she slump to her couch, right foot rest on the arm chair of the couch while the left foot and arm was hanging to the floor and her right hand rest on her head which was resting in the other arm of the couch. She was very exhausted for some reason. Maybe she was tired from thinking too much from what just happened to her and from the things she must prioritized to know.
"I really don't understand my real ability." She raised her right hand and watched closely in it. It was very normal to watch. She have the actual image of a human being, which the other student assumed to be her disguised image when she was in the human realm, since not all monsters have not transferred to the new society of monsters. It's the human government duty to report if there were monster sighting in their society, in order for the monster society to retrieve them. But, in Mandy's case was different. Even though she's a human being, if she stays longer in the human society, many normal human beings will wonder in Mandy's ability, so they let her stay in the monster society.
'From the start that I've stayed here, I noticed that I got most of my ability from other creature. But, I have no idea how did I manage to have it?'
'Then from the day I encountered the shadow creature, after it, I have suddenly lost my ability.'
'And when I came back, the Rulers started to train me again that's when I got few new ability that I have not yet encountered.'
'Does this mean, I can copy their ability? But, it seems there are limits to it. I have no idea how it vanish all of a sudden then came back with other new abilities.'
'But, as I tried to recall what really happened when I was with the shadow creature, I can only remember that I want it to disappear before it succumb me entirely.'
'I must really test it to other creature in order for me to understand this ability. No one can tell me what really I can do since I'm alone from the start when I came here, no one knows me better than myself. Well if they knew, they should have told me from the start.'
With her conviction in her mind, she will set her first attempt in the student council's selection. But first, she must focus in meditating. She must clear her mind from other things except for the attempt on using her ability and to control it properly.
