Chapter 6 - The plan

It was dark. The only light that lit was the kitchen bulb. 'Strange' Cassy thought. At her parents home there was this habit of leaving a single bulb turned on the whole night so that the darkness never engulfed the whole house at any point during their stay. All the lights were switched off only when they left out off towm. This also gave a significant message to anyone who was in need of help, they could just knock on the door at any point in the night because light ment hope. She peaked out the door trying to not open it too much but just enought to see where justin was. She saw him on the couch. The light at the back of him threw his shadow on the television. He was on his phone. He said, "Don't worry. I am fine. It's not over yet.. yeah... yeah... There is much more of a cyclone to passby I presume. It's going to be tough both for her and for myself. Yeah... yeah... you are right. I bet she is going to suffer a lot. Yes... It's going to be good."

She held to the knob of the door. 'What more is there to come? Had it not been enough for him already?' she though as her eyes began to get tearful yet again. But this time, she was more curious than emotional. It was a quiet night. She needed answers and emotional Cassy did not get a chance to get any. She opened the door wide.

Justin turned to look at her at the sound of the creak of the wodden door. His face was illuminating in the dark. His features much more sensual, sharp and defined. She went near him. Seeing her come close he cut the call instantly. Justin stood up from his seat and turned to leave. Cassy called out, 'Wait. I want to talk. Please tell me why you are plotting to ruin me. Who are you? Are you the same person I met a month ago?'

Justin looked up at Cassy, 'I need to ask you the same question then. Who are you? Are you the same person I once knew?'

'No, wait this doesnot make any sense. I am who I was when you met. You know me. I did not lie. I did not steal your company.' Cassy stuttered. She did not understand why he was asking such insane questions. When they met each other for the first time she was open about herself to him. It was like any other blind date she ever had. She just like everyother person had been open to him about her will to not get married in a hope that they might understand and leave. And Justin also made sure it looked like he understood what she was talking about. But instead proposed a thought saying her parents would not stop untill she made a scene on her wedding day... making her parents avoid and end more such dates and marriage all together. It was all fixed. Their plan had worked. She had made sure the scene was well rehersed with Justin and just as she was about to leave she had to ask the question to Justin, "Will you marry me now even though I am such a ruthless person inconsiderate of others feeling. Will you marry me even though I drageed you all along to the wedding just to make you embarrassed and show to people that what I went though was all their fault?" She had to pause here to look at him when he would wink at her ensuring that all the guests had bought the lie and drama. But she remembered she saw only blank look from Justin. Convinced that he had forgotten to make the move she had gone on to say, "After all that had happened right now, will you marry me and spend the rest of your life with me?" Here he was supposed to stomp his foot get angry and leave. But instead, he said YES. To everyone's astonishment he had said he wanted to marry her.

She looked at him, "Why? I told you I was totally truthful to you. I thought you understood. Why did you do this to me?"

He smiled from the corner of his lips and said, "It's late we should grab some sleep." And left to his room and shut the door behind him.

She stood there in the silence of the house. She was wide awake to sleep. Her questions bothered her. She only wanted answers. Was he some unknown rival who had betrayed her.She did not know. She looked at the clock it was almost 4 early in the morning.
