"Where?... Did he talk?... No... Keep an eye on him, I'll be there soon... Get the car ready, we're leaving..."
Kanna discretely threw a glance at the clock facing her. It was 6:12AM. Eyes heavy by sleepiness, but she didn't want to anymore. He was leaving, again, like last time. At least this time she saw him leave.
The sun wasn't even fully up, Where was he going? Who called him? Was it his work? Keep an eye on who?
She hated this feeling, feeling like it wasn't her place to even ask him what his day would be about or where he was leaving to and if he was coming back. No. It was not her place at all. Last night, he made it crystal clear that he didn't want or need to be emotionally attached to anyone.
After a deep and loud sigh, the young woman finally turned around in the bed to face him. He was putting his black jacket on. His wet hair in a bun, he had taken a shower? When ?
He locked eyes with her. Seconds passed and they stood there, silent, eyes and heartbeats speaking louder than any word.
And finally, after a few minutes, he slowly started walking towards her. She didn't move. She was scared, was he going to kiss her? Or at least say goodbye? This simple act would give out the meaning of their relationship for her.
But Reo stopped just in front of the bed. He bent down slowly, then, as she thought he was going to touch her, his hand brushed over her arm and picked up something.
A chain, his golden chain she often saw him wear. It didn't have any specific letter hooked to it. It was plain, short and pretty.
After picking it up, he threw a quick glance at her again before walking out. No smile, no kiss, no touching, no word. He just walked out again.
She wanted to cry so bad, she was tired already. That rejection a few hours ago ruined her, even though she didn't want to admit to it. She was hurting, pretty badly. Just knowing that her heart was ready to love and throw itself to someone who didn't want/need it.
Her pillow would be the only witness to her tears. She made a promise to herself, never to cry in front of him, no matter what.
So she sat there, cried and cried for hours, till the sun was high in the sky. It was time for her to leave.

"She just left Oyabun." A voice spoke through the phone, and without a word, Reo hung up.
He slowly walked back to the man covered in blood, facing him. His face was awful, his men beat the living shit out of him, but that was exactly what he deserved.
"You look awful, Keito." He said, an evil smirk painted on his lips.
The man desperately tried to look up to him. His eyes were bloody, puffy, his vision was clearly blurry. But that voice was familiar to every Yakuza in the country.
"Please Oyabun." He was able to articulate, before speaking nonsense again in awful cries. He didn't want to die. But that was too bad, because tonight was the end of it all. He had been affiliated with his uncle, and been trying to sabotage some of his most important missions.
Anybody working under him that secretly took orders from his uncle was a threat. He didn't give a shit. He knew how dangerous he was, and he would be stupid to underestimate him. His father did, and it didn't do him any good for as long as he could remember.
"Oyabun, he was smart. He didn't pay him with his own money, and he didn't even sign a contract... Again, there is no way we could have proof."
His jaw was tensed, as he closed his eyes, breathing loudly. And after a few minutes, fighting demons in his head. Reo stood before him before lowering to reach his face.
"I could let you live..." He finally said, his voice low, a whisper. But his gaze dangerously dark and void of emotions.
Keito looked confused but as desperate as he was, he started crying again before pleading for his life.
"Anything Oyabun! I would do anything!"
Reo finally smiled, an evil smile making his intentions clear.
"I'll let you live, if you keep working under him and give me informations in return."
"...but he-
"I need specific informations. About Urie's death. I know he's somehow related to it, i just need clear proof, to finally be able to ruin him entirely."
As he finished, the man facing him was trembling. He clearly understood he didn't have the choice, if he wanted to live, he had to accomplish this mission.
"Yes. Oyabun." He finally said, in between his trembling and bloody lips.
Satisfied, Reo finally got up and slowly walked out. The car was waiting for him.
It had been months, he was looking for anything that could link his uncle to Urie's death. He never wanted to kill someone that badly before. That man deserved to die a thousand deaths, each time even more painful. He took her away, his only friend, his only confident... How dare he...
When he reached the car, his phone rand again.
"Oyabun."
"What?"
"I think miss Kubo is planning on travelling."
His eyes slowly drifted to the window.
"Where is she going?"
"I-... she's leaving for Canada, she just reserved a ticket for next week."
His lips formed a straight line. He didn't like the idea of Kanna going away. He knew last night he had said something that probably made her feel like she didn't need to waste anytime with him. But he still cared... That woman... he kind of liked her around. And she was interesting... she comforted him so easily last time. He never stopped thinking about that night... Him out of his mind begging for her to comfort him, and she did...
The night after, he had ran away, he didn't want to face her, and he certainly didn't want them to feel any familiarity after that extremely intimate moment.
"What do you want me to do Oyabun?"
"Leave it. It's probably better if she leaves."
"Uhm... no-... she took a round trip ticket. She'll be back a month later..."
"Okay." He said before hanging up.
He would be busy with his researches on Urie, and dealing with the other clans. He needed to mark a bigger influence in his world, so nobody would ever feel like defying him again. And with her around it would be impossible. She would become a target, his weakness. And he certainly didn't want that.
_______
Kanna stared at the unknown number calling her for a few minutes before finally picking up, her face painted with confusion.
"Uhm... hello?"
"Hey Kanna... it's Hiro..."
"Oh my God! Hey! A-are you good?! Like- did they do anything?!" She quickly asked as she was walking nervously in circle in her appartement.
"No, uhm, they didn't touch us, don't worry. But I was really freaking out, and Ryu almost passed out... I had never seen guns before you see..."
Her heart skipped a beat. A gun? A fucking gun?!
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry Hiro... I-
"Hey, it's not your fault if you have a crazy ex-boyfriend who happens to be the Oyabun of the Japanese mafia world."
Her eyes went wide, but she felt her cheeks heat at the word "boyfriend". How ridiculous.
"He's not my boyfriend... and you'd be safe not knowing that kind of information..."
"Well if they didn't want us to know they wouldn't call him "Oyabun" "Oyabun" every two minutes on the damn phone in front of us."
A slight chuckle escaped her as she sat down, before releasing a sigh she'd been holding onto for God knows how long.
"Yui told us you went to pick us up..." his voice was lower, like fearful.
"Did you stay long?" He asked, low, too low.
Sighing, Kanna put a hand to her face, a nervous tic.
"W-we... had a long conversation... He had to know these types of kidnapping were not okay..."
Then it was silent for way too long. She could hear his breathing. He was waiting for more information, but she would not. It wasn't worth it anyway.
"Does he love You?" He finally asked.
And she almost blurted laughing.
"No!" She said, too loud, way too loud. Her tone was implying that the statement was ridiculous. And for her it was.
"I see..."
"He can't even... we-... Hiro... can we talk about something else?" She said, eyes closed trying to forget about the pain when remembering his words last night inflicted.
"Well, are you hungry?"
She chuckled, why did the conversation shift to that?
"Uhhhh yeah??" She said in a smile
"Well then, how about you open your door?"
Her eyes went wide, and she didn't wait a second before running to the door. There he was, facing her as she opened the door.
"What?!" She smiled.
He smiled back before laughing.
"I was worried about you, so I asked Yui and she gave me you guys' address. I hope you don't mind?"
"Absolutely not. Come in!" She said before noticing he had packs of ramen noodles in his hands.
"Please tell me it's the spicy type!"
And in response he winked before following her in the kitchen.
It didn't feel like she had met him just 24h ago. She felt comfortable around him. He was funny. They spent an hour cooking ramen noodles and burning themselves while trying to grill the meat. Kanna enjoyed having him around. He was just comfortable...
"You'd think we would lose our appetite after watching all that meat burn." He said, as he picked at his food.
A little embarrassed Kanna also stared at their bowls. Her cooking was terrible. She should've warned him. But she thought, since it was ramen noodles it might've been easier. But boy was she wrong. The soup smelled like death, if too close one could probably die from the spicy scent floating around.
"Sorry" She said, before pushing away her bowl. He laughed before doing the same thing.
"At least I know you're okay." He said
And as she was about to smile back, her phone started ringing.
"Give me a sec, you can sit by the tv, I'll be quick." She said before running to pick it up in her and Yui's room.
"Masked Number." It was obvious who it was. But why was he calling?
"Hello?"
She said, as she closed the door behind her.
"Who is he." He spoke. His voice low and his breathing heavy.
"A friend..."
"You met him yesterday."
"Yes. He is my friend since yesterday." She said staring at her feet. She was heavily confused. But there was still this slight happy feeling from his jealousy.
"Ask him to leave."
Her eyes went wide in shock. It was an order.
"Reo... you can't tell me what to do. You don't." She said, starting to feel annoyed.
But his breathing only went louder. He was mad. Really.
"If he doesn't leave in the next minutes I'll have my men do it."
"Stop doing this! Let me-
"Why are you leaving?" He cut her off again.
And she immediately knew what he was talking about.
"I-... why do you care... you left without a goodbye..."
"So you want to do same?" He said, she knew he was smirking, and it set her off.
"Yes. I wanna walk away from you while I can Reo. Cause I'm tired already. I didn't ask for this."
"Fine then..."
Her heart broke again. What? Just like that? Just like that he was letting her go?
"You-... you're letting me go?" She asked, her breathing loud and her shock recognizable.
"You're free to do what you want." He said.
Cruel, his words were cruel. She didn't know why but she hated it. He didn't even fight for her.
"I fucking hate you. Reo... I hate you." She said. Tears running down her face. But he didn't speak, he didn't hang up either, they sat there silent for minutes, a comfortable silence.
"I want to see you." She finally heard him say.
His tone was a mix of admission and uncertainty. But it lit her heart in seconds. And the next minute she was on her feet.
"Where are you?" She asked, putting her shoes on.
"A car is parked in front of your building. It will take you to me." He said
And she hung up. Ran out the room and as her eyes found Hiro. She felt terribly bad, but she ran pass him also.
"Hiro I'm sorry, keep the house! I'll be right back!- or not! Wait for Yui then!" She screamed before running down the stairs reaching the car and hopping inside.
_______
As she found her way to him, he was there, back facing her, his hands on his desk, contemplating a book on his desk.
His hair slicked back, his strong back sexier than the night before. Her breathing went louder as she walked quickly towards him after locking the door.
When she reached him, she silently admired his stature, before running her fingers up his strong arm. She was about to hug him when he suddenly turned around and without warning, his lips were on hers.
The kiss was heated, she loved it. His tongue fighting for entrance as she immediately allowed him in a moan. His hands went on her waist. And hers went through his hair as she fought war to keep him closer to her. She kissed back with all her might. Her hands in his back scratching and pulling his shirt up.
Why was it him? Out of all the men in the world? Why did she love him? A man who didn't want love at all. Even if she was ready to give it all to him.
She was now frowning while kissing him back. God she loved him already... so quick. What a dangerous mind game.
He finally fell back, his breathing uncontrolled. His lit eyes on her.
"Why do you love me?" He finally said, his breathing still loud and his hands still on her. He was staring at her soul, trying to understand this tiny human being and her confusing heart. She was naked and couldn't lie...
"Because I do Reo... and-... it breaks my heart to know that one day I'd have to give it to someone else because you can't do this, because you don't want it..." she said in a whisper, her eyes teary, staring at his, looking for the truth that he always hid so well.
So then his eyes went darker. And there it was, that frown, that possessiveness, that jealousy. For a few seconds, he allowed her to see it. He wanted her too... he did. But there was a but...
His breathing quicker and quicker.
"I won't let you." He said, before diving back to her lips.
"You are mine... only"
The ultimate selfish bastard.
