Chapter 3 - (Chapter 2) Working for a witch

"What's thing one thing I asked you to do today Shadow ?" Aurora says calmly, "um, rearrange the potion bottles ?" I respond looking back at her, Aurora is a witch who to the surprise of many is actually half elf, with long black hair that falls down her back in waves, gorgeous red eyes, pointed ears and blood red markings all over the ebony skin of her 5'8 body, "Exactly, so tell me" she points a long red fingernail at the potions shelf I had reorganized, "What, in all hell's is THIS ?" I stare at her for a moment before looking to the shelves and then back to her, "The potions in alphabetical order" I say simply, "I said by color" she says with a sigh, "Honestly why can't you ever do what I ask of you ?" she says in an annoyed tone, all right this is some bullshit, I look her dead in the eyes, "No no no, see the first time you asked it was by color, then date, then effect and then alphabetically so I arranged them alphabetically and went about my day !" I say, annoyed, she looks at me with disgust before raising her black wood, ruby encrusted staff and and slamming it to the ground, I watched as the potions suddenly rearranged themselves by color, I roll my eyes, subconsciously wondering why she even needs me, "I have a job for you" she says walking off to the spellbook section of the shop, I follow hastily behind her, once we reach the upper level of the spellbook section Aurora slams her staff down once more and a heavy book from the top of one of the shelves drops down, I stumble to catch it, "There's a certain ingredient in shadow forest" she says turning to face me,her long black robe twirling around her, she flicks her wrist in the air and the book in my hands suddenly opens, pages flipping at lightning speed before landing on a page detailing a blue bioluminescent mushroom, "I need it for an invisibility spell, go get it, and I trust I don't need to tell you to be back before sunrise ?" she says, quirking an eyebrow at me, "no I should be fine" I say tucking the book into the satchel I always kept at my side, as I turn to leave I stop to look myself over in one of the mirrors, I stand at 5'7 and have wavy shoulder length grey hair I keep pulled back in a loose ponytail, matching storm grey eyes, and a long sleeve, knee length grey dress which popped against my pale white skin, I readjust the white satchel I carried so it sat more comfortably on my shoulder, grab a basket, and turn and drop through the floor.
