Chereads / The General Who Hates Me / Chapter 3 - Nothing Is Impossible

Chapter 3 - Nothing Is Impossible

"I've decided... I want to join the military..." Keira blurted out of nowhere, while the family was having their breakfast.

She had thought about it overnight. If she wanted to pursue Zach, she must stay near him.

And the only way to get near her fated, dream man, was by joining the military under his supervision. She saw a lot of women nowadays, who tried to join the military and passed successfully, so she was confident in her success.

Field Marshal Chan choked hard when he heard Keira's words and spat out all the food inside his mouth. Mrs. Chan stood up to gently pat her husband's back while she directly looked at her daughter.

"Oh my God, Keira? What are you talking about? Are you even fully awake, or you are still sleepy?" she exclaimed, as shock was plastered all over her face.

Then, she shifted her gaze to her husband and said, "I think Keira is still sleepy darling, maybe, she needs more rest."

Keira arched an eyebrow as she added, "Mom, didn't I make myself clear? I said I want to join the military and continue studying in Dad's camp. I have thought about it thoroughly. I want to experience something new, and thrilling."

"I want to train... I hate always going out with bodyguards, and besides, I can still study business under military training... everything can be arranged. I have already planned everything." Keira simply said.

The military base managed by her Daddy was exceptional. Whoever was accepted to that base, could also gain the opportunity to get proper schooling in various courses, if they did not interfere much with the military training, which was the main focus at that place.

Field Marshal Chan stared at her and said, "You brat, I know what you're trying to do. I'm telling you, it won't be easy with that one. You'll have a hard time if your target is Zach. It's like targeting an invisible prey."

Then, he narrowed his eyes as if scaring his daughter and said, "Plus you will be treated fairly at the base, like other trainees. Moreover, there will be no exceptions and special treatment at all. So, don't expect to be special, just because you're my daughter, rather I'm pretty sure, Zach will show no mercy and give you a harder time…"

Keira smiled wickedly at her dad and said, "The word 'IMPOSSIBLE' is missing from my vocabulary Dad, and you, of all the people, should know that better. In short, nothing is impossible for Keira Chan."

"Discouraging me is too lame… Aren't you tired of those techniques? Try something convincing Dad…" Keira said, grinning before she continued eating.

Mrs. Chan released a long, deep sigh. Those two, obviously agreed on something again, without her knowing. As usual, her voice was no longer heard, once the two began their discussions.

"Okay, I'll put you under his team if you pass the tests, but make sure you behave and don't you dare do anything that will embarrass me, otherwise, I will immediately kick you out." Field Marshal Chan said in a serious tone.

Mrs. Chan could no longer keep her silence and blurted out, "Darling, what is wrong with you? That's a men's lair, and you are willing to allow our only daughter inside? Are you out of your mind? She's only eighteen!"

Keira rolled her eyes and said, "What does my age have to do with going to the military? They even accept 17-year-old one's Mom, it's Daddy's territory, should I remind you that? It's the safest place on earth for me."

Field Marshal Chan coughed and said, "Alright, that's enough. We're having breakfast, so you must focus on eating and let's discuss this matter later. You need to pass the tests first, so don't celebrate the victory beforehand. I'm sure you'll fail the physical tests though."

Then, he looked at his wife and winked. "Sweetheart, don't worry too much. Keira will definitely fail those tests."

Obviously, her husband agreed to Keira, so she just let a deep sigh and continued eating.

Meanwhile, Keira was already planning all possible steps she should take, to get General Zach's attention. She didn't worry about the physical test her father mentioned.

'Just you wait, Gen. Zach Lim, I'm coming soon to knock your heart…' she mused to herself, as she squealed in excitement.

Field Marshal Chan and Mrs. Chan: "…?"
