Chereads / The General Who Hates Me / Chapter 4 - Friends

Chapter 4 - Friends

Keira met her three close friends May, Lana and Drey at their favorite hangout café, to tell them her intention of joining the military.

"What?! But that's absurd! I mean you want to go there, simply because of a man? Are you trolling us?" Lana exclaimed.

Lana looked at Keira from head to toe.

Keira looked awesome, she loved to doll herself up.

Her friend wore a fantastic frill mini dress, a v-neckline with contrasting frill, frill cap sleeves and a slim fit skirt, detailed with a frilled hem. She looked graceful and sweet as ever.

That's why she found it ridiculous when Keira, who was as glamorous as a princess, talked about entering a military school. It didn't suit her at all.

"Don't listen to that panic maker, Keira. You know how boring Lana is… Oh, I love it, girl. I'm sure your eyes will feast on many hot men there. Wait… Should I accompany you? Maybe, I should join the military too and serve my country together with that uhm abs… biceps… Ohhh, I can't wait… Let's go and train now, so we can pass the darn tests!" Drey said with anticipation, as he bit his lips and looked up as if he was imagining the hot soldiers, gathering around him.

"Snap! Snap! Snap?" May said while she snapped her fingers in front of Drey's face, to wake him up from his daydream.

Keira was laughing hard as she watched them.

Drey was the comedian in their group, as usual, he was the most straightforward, compared to the other two. Most people would not believe that he was gay.

He did not fit the stereotypical description of a gay man since he was well built and masculine, but as soon as he spoke that was a different story…

"Alright, enough playing around... I have to focus for the next few days on getting fit, and some advanced training… so ladies, no more going out or shopping with me." She said simply.

"You heard that ladies? Keira and I will be busy with you know what… to pass that test so don't expect me to go out with any of you…" Drey echoed.

May laughed.

"Oh my gosh, Drey are you serious? Does the military even accept gay men? The poor soldiers don't know what's coming. You will definitely not see shirtless men, dude. Please don't harass them, and I know you… You have absolutely hidden intentions..." May continued, as she tried irritating Drey more with her joking.

Drey's face crumpled and reddened with what May said. "You…"

Keira shook her head. Those two loved to argue a lot, and banter with each other.

Drey's fine eyebrows arched as he glared at May, "Duh, who do you think I am? Do I look like someone with a pea-sized brain, May? Of course, I am not going to announce that I'm gay."

Then, Drey straightened his back and said, "Hi Miss, you look like someone I know. Have we met before?" His voice was deep and sexy, and would surely make any girl drool.

May cringed… "Stop that! You're giving me goosebumps. Look at the hairs on my skin, all basically went up!"

Keira giggled gracefully.

"See that?" Lana blurted out.

"Even the way you giggle don't fit that place. It's like putting a doll in a war zone." Lana said, shaking her head.

"You're so pessimistic… Why don't you just join us if you are worried so much about Keira? Join the military too, it will be fun… May, you should join too…" Drey said excitedly.

Lana and May looked at each other…

"What? Come on… It will be fun… We can do extra studying like Keira! I'm sure, your lives will be boring without the two of us. Imagine a serious, promising old maid and a half-wit girl left behind. Gosh, I can't imagine how boring, going out will be for the two of you." Drey continued with a dramatic jest.

"Who's half-witted? I'm dimwitted, not half-witted, you frustrating child!" Lana exclaimed.

Keira laughed hard. She just loved her three friends so much, like real sisters, well and a brother, but Drey preferred to be a sister-so it's sisters then.

The four of them grew up together since their families were close to each other. They attended the same school since childhood.

"Drey. stop it… Don't force Lana and May. Let them decide what they want." She scolded Drey but then paused, as her mischievous smile started curving on her full, red lips.

"But I guess Drey is right… I just can't imagine how boring life would be without a comedian and a prima donna. Hmmm, I won't be able to treat you guys like before and shop past the normal limit. I guess it will be only Drey and I. I'm not sure if the two of us can enjoy our time together…" she said.

May looked at Keira and said, "Who said I will not join you guys. Of course, I'm in… Besides, I don't know what I want to pursue as a career yet, so I'll stay and train with you guys, while I think of what to do."

Then, Keira looked at Lana with her puppy eyes…

Lana sighed and said, "Alright, I will come too, but it's because I'm worried about you. These two are timid when it comes to important things…"

Keira understood well. Lana was best suited to become an attorney since she always protected the three of them.

Keira hugged Lana and said, "They have political science lessons at the camp, so you can study that too."

She was so excited to start the training. "Hah, Dad said I will fail the test. I will ace that darn test and show him that Keira Chan does not fail at anything!" she uttered confidently before she ate the cheesecake on her plate.

Lana, Drey, and May exchanged meaningful glances. It will for sure, be a long and hard training for them too…
