Aiden thought that he was being too pushy. He told himself that he'll be satisfied by being this close to her again but he messed up. His feelings for her intensified that it caused confusion to the both of them.
He never expected anything in return. He was happy enough to finally be able to talk to her like this but he was beginning to want more. The more he wanted her the more he's afraid that he'll soon lose her.
Whenever their eyes meet, the urge was there. But he knows that this is also what needed, a space. He needed to be contented. Everything was starting to get more complicated than it should be. He just loves her so much that it's all starting to make sense. He should have just watched her from a distance like he used to.
Looking at her at a distance like this is what he is good at anyway. Though they were surrounded by such a crowd, when her eyes met his he felt like time gave way and had slowed down just for them. She looked sad and it pains him that it was caused by him. Love wasn't supposed to hurt but it does when it's not right.
"This is so messed up." Audrey said as she averted her eyes back to Kylie who looked surprised. She then asked her wondering, "Why do you look like you're surprised? Didn't you already know it?"
"I do but I never thought that you'll confess to him right now!"
"He's like a hundred feet away from us. He definitely wouldn't have heard it."
"I guess. But that's such a bold move. I applaud you for it. So anyway what are you planning on doing? Are you just going to sit there and die alone?"
"What? That is even so messed up!"
"Nothing will happen if you try to contemplate everything as if it was all a complicated mathematical equation."
"I know that's why I asked for this. I needed to gather all my thoughts and feelings before I get crazy thinking what this really is. This is all new to me. I've read too many romance fiction books that somehow helped me identify what this is so I needed to read more…"
"Oh please! Don't tell me that you'll do a research to classify if what you're feeling is true or not?"
"Shouldn't I be doing that to make sure?"
Kylie stood up and put a hand on to Audrey's shoulder and said, "Love is complicated but it doesn't mean that you need to make it really complicated. You don't need to read tons of books for it. I am no love guru but it isn't that hard."
"Sorry. I am just so confused."
"Okay. So let me ask you a series of questions that will help you. I've found this website lately that had a couple of relationship questions that might help you" She sat beside her confused friend and figured out that she's just over thinking too much. She then took her phone and a notebook out of her bag and a pen and started writing something.
"Sure."
"Whenever you are with him what do you feel?"
"I feel happy. But somehow I feel nervous at the same time."
"Why so?"
"I feel like I might do something clumsy that might make me look stupid. I worry that he might dislike me."
"Next question, when did it all started?"
"I don't know. It just happened. We've known each other for a while now but it feels weird for it seemed like I've known him longer than that."
"When he asked you to be his girlfriend why did you agree?"
"Correction it's 'fake' girlfriend."
"Never mind that, just answer my question."
"You know how I like to help others."
"Will you agree if you're being asked to be someone else girlfriend like for example Greg his seatmate?"
"What? No! Come on. We're just classmates."
"Isn't Aiden you're classmate too?"
"He is but he's my friend. I know that he wouldn't do anything funny."
"Really? Then how did you feel when your hands first intertwined? When you first hugged?"
"It felt weird. I hug my brother from time to time specially when I did something bad like breaking the plates but it really felt weird. Somehow I felt safe and contented."
"How about when you first kissed?"
"W-what? Do you really need to ask that?! Is that even posted on the web?" Audrey blushed and panicked a little as she gets embarrassed.
"Yes. It says, 'ask about a memorable experience like a kiss if there is any'. Answer truthfully so that the results will be clear."
Audrey sighed and paused as she recall the moment where she and Aiden were at the park. "It was as if time had stopped for a moment. We're at the park but I didn't mind the people around us. I felt possessive at that time. There was a strong urge that made it impossible for me to resist. I felt afraid at the same time, afraid that he might push me away."
"This is bad, definitely bad."
"What is??"
"I definitely should try and be a relationship counselor. I think I might get a hang of it."
"Oh come on! I thought for a moment that I did bad answering your questions." She slightly slapped Kylie's arm as she exhaled heavily after feeling a little tensed.
"Hahaha. Sorry." She laughed.
"Can you please tell me my result?"
"Hold on. Finalizing…there! It says, "You yourself should be the one to analyze what you're feeling. There's no one who knows it better that you." Well, that went well."
"That certainly didn't answer directly what I am feeling at right now but I guess that helped me a little."
"Gummy bear don't be afraid to take risks. Love is a beautiful feeling but just be sure that you are doing the right thing. Remember, regret is more painful than not taking risk at all."
"You're a life saver." Audrey smiled.
"I know. That's why you can't live without me." Kylie embraced her as she smile.
Just as when things are getting clearer, Audrey's phone started ringing. She looked at the screen to see who it was and she was surprised to see who it was.
"Tiffany."
