There was a knock at the door. Frowning I stood up and walked over to it. Opening the door I was met by Darrel, my neighbor.
"Darrel,'' I said startled, "what's wrong?" I asked noticing his panicked look in his face.
"They're here.'' He gasped, "they came for us.''
Then he ran. I closed the door and walked straight over to the window, pulling back the blinds I looked outside.
It was chaos. People were running everywhere. And right in the middle of the city was a huge thing. Bright blue, and covered with red buttons like patterns over it.
"What in the name of cheese apples is that?!" I heard Ashleigh shout from behind me.
"I have no idea, it appears to be some sort of Joutenheim carrier." Loki appeared beside me.
"Why has humanity have to suffer for your wars?" I asked him.
"Because you're the innocents," he started to pace, "we Asgardians may think of ourselves as superior but we don't like seeing those who have nothing to do with us suffer for our actions."
"So we are the ones caught in the middle?" I asked.
He sighed looking down at me, "I'm afraid so.''

The day only got colder from there. Loki and I went outside to investigate the foreign object in the middle of our city. We inched around the edges of the buildings of which it was situated in.
"What is the point of that thing?" I asked.
"I believe they are distracting us from they're core purpose of being here.''
"War?"
"Yes, draw people in, then do something to them to cause a stir in the universe."
I slid around the building, "Let's get a closer look.''
Loki grabbed my wrist, "No, I will get a closer look, you will stay here.''
I spun around ripping my wrist out of his grip, "If you go, I'm going too.''
He placed his hands on my shoulders, "No, I won't let you go. It's to dangerous.''
I stared straight into his fearful ice blue eyes, "Loki I'm going whether you like it or not.''
He let out a frustrated sigh, "Fine."
We walked out and blended into the crowd that was forming around the ship. Loki grabbed my hand and laced his fingers into mine. I looked at him.
"So we don't lose each other.''
I smiled at him. He was a terrible liar. As we got closer more details started to emerge from the ship. A bright blue lazer streamed out at about one meter high.
"What's that?" I asked.
"I have no clue Ingrid but whatever it is, it's not good."
We inch closer as the crowd moved cautiously towards it. Murmurs echoed through the tenacious silence. The lazer still beamed, though every minute it seemed to move slightly right. When I noticed this I lent over to Loki.
"The blue lazer is moving ever so slightly every minute.'' I whispered.
Loki's eyes shot upwards towards the beam. His face twisted into confusion.
"I don't understand it's purpose.'' He frowned.
"Why if we-" I was cut off.
"Midgardians!" The blue lazer formed the shape of a frost giant.
"Laufey.'' I heard Loki mumble.
"I am Laufey! Now among you people right now is someone not of your kind, but they're of Asgard.''
I felt Loki stiffen at these words.
"Now if this so called 'God' of yours doesn't present his self before the time the blue light reaches it starting point, all of this city will freeze." Laufey paused and had a slight chuckle, "This is your first and final warning.''
Then in a flash he was gone.Everyone went into panic, most ran but Loki's face was full of determination.
"Loki, you know it's a trap.'' I told him.
"Your probably right, but I cannot risk anything.''
He started to walk towards the ship, I grabbed his wrist and spun him around.
"Loki no.''
He pushed my hand off his wrist, "Ingrid yes.'' He started to walk again.
I walked faster and stood in front of him.
"Loki," I said firmly, "no."
He barged past me.
"Go home Ingrid.''
"And leave you here?!" I yelled at his back.
He didn't look back as he replied, "Yes, leave me.''
I huffed, running a hand through my hair tears streaming done my face, "After everything that we've done! After the danger I put myself and my friends in, your just going to leave.''
"Look Ingrid," he stopped, turning around to face me, "I thank you for everything you've done, but I need to do this to, to I don't know but I know it's what must be done.''
He walked away again, leaving me standing there crying. I started to slowly turn away walking every step felt like agony on the inside.
"Naw, screw it.'' I heard a mumble from behind me.
The sound of fast footsteps in the snow, it felt like time slowed down. As I spun around I was met by nothing other then Loki's face.
His hand slid around my neck, the other one around my hip. My arms slid around his neck. All this happened while he pressed his lips on mine. As the kiss deepened the hand on my neck went up and tangled into my hair, the hand on my hip went around to my back pulling me closer to him.
He pulled away from me, "I love you.'' Then with one last kiss he turned and ran into the sudden fog that formed.
As I looked into the place where Loki disappeared I uttered four simple words.
"I love you too.''
