Chapter 11 - Transfer Student

"So, you were saying that you lost 20k because of investing in a VR company."

"U-huh."

Inside a classroom, Ye Han is being spoken to by someone.

"Are you sure you're old enough to invest?"

'I'm probably old enough to be called your ancestor.' "I don't know." He said with a mental tick mark pulsing inside his mind.

That someone happens to be a boy. Golden blonde hair and sharp, handsome features. He wore a confident smile but deep inside his eyes is untamed playfulness. He is currently deep in thought.

"That really sucks bro." He said with sympathy.

Ye Han just rolled his eyes. Being used to his usual antics, Ye Han knew that the guy is being sarcastic. "Leave me alone David." He said as he leaned his head on the desk.

David is currently deep in thought as if he did not hear anything that Ye Han said. "How should I help Ye Han my, friend?" He groaned as he bit into his thumb.

Suddenly, his face brightened up like someone lit a proverbial lightbulb inside his head. "I know!" Scrambling underneath his feet, he approached the center podium used for lectures. Standing there, clearing his throat to gather the attention of everyone. He said, "People of Class F, Hear me out."

Ye Han, who was still trying to fight off the sleepiness caused by another all-nighter was jolted to full consciousness. Just hearing the stupid voice of David brought him a bad premonition.

"I, David of Class F shall now dedicate myself to charity." Waving his arms in an exaggerated manner just to be more dramatic, he increased the volume of his voice showing his heartfelt sympathy. "I shall gather willing donations to fund my cause." He then took a basket seemingly out of nowhere. "My beneficiary has been victimized by fraud. He lost all of his money because of those heartless people and is now struggling in life." By now, fake tears are flooding his eyes. "Please have pity on my friend, Ye Han, for he is li-"

But before he could finish his moving speech, he was forced to dodge an incoming brick heading straight at him. Turning his head to the source of the projectile, he saw Ye Han eyeing him dangerously.

But Ye Han's gaze did not seem to unnerve David in any sort of way. He got back at the podium to finish his speech. "Please give him money. Or you can also donate to my account." However, people seem to be unenthusiastic of his proposal. Immediately working back to what they were doing prior to his interruption.

"Don't worry Ye Han I'm sure they will donate." He said patting Ye Hand shoulder. His eyes showing determination.

Ye Han immediately swatted the hand like it was some sort of infectious virus. With one final glare, he continued sleeping.

A few minutes later, the scattered student all over the classroom swiftly scrambled themselves back to their seats hearing the distinct and familiar tapping of shoes. Even the playful David ran back to his seat like someone just set his butt on fire.

Just as everyone has taken their chairs, the door opened, revealing a bespectacled woman. Her frowning visage coupled with her strict aura made the poor students dare not to let a single squeak. Except for Ye Han, whose light snores filled the silent classroom.

The woman's gaze scanned the whole room, checking for any particular discrepancies she might see. She eyed each student with her sharp gaze. Although her stare only lasted for a couple of moments but for the students it felt like hours.

Her glare finally landed on the sleeping Ye Han. The others also noticed her looking at Ye Han. But they did not try to turn their heads fearing for their well-being. Almost everyone inside the classroom, familiar to him or not, is already praying for his soul. David even clasped his hands underneath the desk silently praying for his friend. 'May his soul rest in peace.'

Seeing that Ye Han had no intention to wake up deepened her scowl. The woman then took a coin from her pocket. Putting it between her thumb and index finger she flicked it towards Ye Han. It flew to unimaginable and lethal speeds traveling directly to him, hitting him squarely on the head. With a dangerous crack, which made the students wince, Ye Han woke up.

Clutching his bleeding head, he searched for the perpetrator only to be welcomed by a woman watching him. He then looked on top of his desk and saw the bloody and deformed coin. All the rage subsided as he took back his seat. The students were not even fazed by the blood dripping off Ye Han's head. Fortunately, someone offered some napkins to Ye Han to wipe off the blood.

Fixing herself from the earlier performance she started the homeroom period. "Today we welcome a transfer student, please come in." She gestured outside the door.

The transfer student slowly marched inside. The first thing she noticed is the uncanny silence permeating the atmosphere. The other strange thing she noticed is a student bleeding profusely. It was so terrible that it dyed his whole head crimson. "Is he okay?" She asked.

"Don't mind him." She said. "Please introduce yourself."

She wanted to ask more question but she sensed the pleading eyes of the students telling her to stop. She finally deiced to shelf the idea for later. "My name is Alice Huang, please take care of me." She said then bowed.

The students clapped their hands after her introduction. "Now that you have introduced yourself, could you please escort Ye Han to the infirmary. I don't want him to stain the classroom with his blood. Don't worry he'll guide you there, he's a regular there."

'He receives this kind of injury on a regular basis?!' She thought of questioning her choice of schools. While she was deep in contemplation, Ye Han finally reached her position. Glancing at him, she was slightly frightened and is lamenting her choice of transferring schools.

"He'll also guide you around the school compound after his visit to the infirmary. Have fun."

Having no choice, she reluctantly followed Ye Han who is still dripping with blood. And kept a safe distance away from him. Only one thing is inside her mind.

'Why did I transfer here?!'
