The majestic Kawa Karpo mountain peak rises to a whooping 10000m above sea level, with vast portions of the mountain range largely unexplored and completely uninhabited.
The mountain range is draped in thick dense forests and is home to many almost extinct flora and fauna.
The layers and layers of strong sturdy rocks have been flourishing undisturbed for years and years.
Only the lowermost layer has been developed to date and this trail which goes as high as 4000m above sea level is actually considered as a holy pilgrimage.
In fact, the entire mountain peak is considered sacred by Tibetans and multiples monasteries are strewn all over the lower layer trail.
Su Lin woke up early in the morning, ready to start her climb back to power and supremacy.
Yesterday night, she had tried her best to focus, and sense any spiritual energy in the surroundings but wasn't very successful.
Even so, she wasn't disheartened. This is something she had expected since she was still in the outer and lower regions of the dense mountains.
After a sumptuous breakfast, she took a deep breath and started walking slowly, with the lofty aim of reaching the highest point in the lower layer.
But unfortunately, her body did not listen to her. In barely an hour, she was already out of breath.
She summoned whatever was left of her battered will power and continued treading forward with enormous difficulty.
She bit her lips till they reddened and used the pain to keep moving forward.
Even with the best of her efforts, she only managed to hold out for another hour, when her legs finally gave out.
"10 miles! What a pathetic stamina level?!" Su Lin cursed, as she dragged her tired body to a nearby monastery.
Her feet were only going to cramp and collapse if she kept on walking forward. So she decided to rest for a while.
The monastery was a very simple abode with plain pillars and a neat roof structure. Buddhist figurines were arranged here and there, encircled by flowers and plants.
Coupled with the magical scenery and the fresh air, the atmosphere felt very nourishing and serene. Just breathing in the air would make one feel alive and writhe with energy.
The foggy sky and the green blanket commanded anyone and everyone to stop and stand still, observing and inhaling in the magical feeling.
Dragging her frail almost dead body to the monastery, Su Lin sat next to a pillar, leaning on it for some support.
Her plain white shirt and light blue jeans were completely drenched in sweat. This made her shiver and every time a gentle breeze grazed her, the chill even reached her very bones.
Su Lin cursed and mumbled, as she helplessly took out some food from her backpack and started munching.
"Hmm... I might as well try again." She patted her hands to get rid of the breadcrumbs and sat in a cross-legged position.
Since she was unable to climb for a while without resting her legs, Su Lin decided to focus and search for spiritual energy particles from her position.
After almost three hours of silent mediation, Su Lin flashed open her eyes with an unmistakable glimmer.
Her lips slightly turned upward, and then broadened into a wide grin, before breaking out into a lunatic fit of laughter.
The heavens did not disappoint her! She could sense it! Spiritual energy on earth!!
Su Lin licked her lips and closed her eyes again. She went back to meditation and searched for that familiar energy sensation.
Her soul quivered in joy and cradled the small energy wisp as if it was a precious treasure.
Su Lin's previous world had suffocatingly high amounts of spiritual energy. The air, water, soil, and everything in existence contained rich spiritual energy.
Cultivators were able to harness that energy and build strong cores, which essentially strengthened their souls.
A strong soul was immortal. A strong soul was true power.
Your blood might dry, bones might break and your body might decay, but your soul lives forever. This was the basic principle of Su Lin's heaven-grade cultivation technique.
In her previous life, she had used a body-centered cultivation technique and hence lagged behind some of the powerful experts.
But in this life, she could now start over with her soul-centered cultivation technique.
Su Lin was excited beyond belief. Her mind, body, and soul were all thrumming in happiness as she felt the familiar energy in the air.
At the first glance, this world was dry and devoid of any spiritual energy, but like a raindrop in a dessert, the wisps of spiritual energy were hiding in plain sight.
They were spread like a thin layer of fog, all over the wild unexplored regions of the Kawa Karpo mountain peak.
This small cluster of energy particles that Su Lin had sensed was almost useless and infinitesimally smaller than what she needed, but it was more than enough to partially heal her wounded soul.
