Chapter 14 - A Moment of Silence

The next day, Azure woke up and checked the daily news on her phone. The stuff about her aunt got worst.

[Mia Williams is a SLUT!]

[Megan Bennett Rudely Bullied by Mia Williams]

[Mia Williams Rises in Ranks by Using Men]

These numerous headlines showed up every and Azure didn't fully understand why people were targeting her aunt so much.

Then it hit Azure, "Is there someone purposely creating hype and keeping it going?...No, no, this will all go away by the 3rd day..."

A few days later, the horrible scandals continued on but this time Megan Bennett had spoken out.

She had a big, purple bruise on her face and told everyone that it was a mark from when Mia had secretly met up with her. Megan explained she had called Mia up just so they could work things out but when she tried to start up a conversation, Mia had punched her.

This new piece of news became a huge gossip on online forums and such. Originally the previous news was dying out already but now the hype was re-created and there was nothing that could be done about it.

Azure stared at the piece of news and of course, she didn't believe any of it. She knew her aunt was the type to do that. This past week Azure has been comforting her aunt who seemed to be getting worst. Her aunt had stayed at home most of the week but she did go out time to time.

Because of the horrible gossip, Azure's aunt hadn't been able to receive any jobs and her manager kept frantically trying to take down the rumors but was never successful.

Azure walked up stairs to her aunt's room holding a glass of warm water and some porridge.

Azure opened the door to her aunt sitting on the bed and mumbling to herself while staring at her phone. Azure set down everything on the nightstand and went over to her aunt. She gently pushed away Mia's phone and hugged her. Azure didn't exactly understand her pain but she knew that it probably wasn't easy to deal with.

"Azure you have to b-believe me! I-I-I did go m-meet her b-b-but I didn't mean to hurt her. She g-grabbed my arm a-a-and I just pulled away b-but s-s-she walked back and h-h-hit her face on the t-table that was t-t-there.." Mia desperately told her niece.

Azure nodded and patted her back.

"I-I need s-s-some alone time...p-please.." Mia stuttered.

Azure nodded again and left.

A few hours went by and Azure felt like everything was too quiet. Time to time she would usually hear her aunt's wails but during during this past few hours she had heard none.

Azure decided to check up on aunt, since everything felt fishy.

Azure gently knocked on the door and walked in but her aunt was no where in sight. Azure looked around the room and noticed the bathroom in her aunt's room had the door slightly opened.

Azure had a bad feeling about this...

She cautiously pushed open the door and her calm eyes quickly turned into distress.

To her horror, Azure saw her aunt laying laying in the bathtub with red water, that enveloped her. There was an Exacto-knife laying on the floor with Mia's phone next to it.

Azure immediately ran downstairs and called 911.

After about 15 minutes, police cars and an ambulances pulled up in front of Mia's home.

Azure quietly stood by the side as she watched her aunt's body body get carried away with a white cloth on top.

"Am I cursed with bad luck? It this god's way of punishing me? I'm so sorry, aunt. I should've been there for you. I should've known. I failed you..just like how I failed my parents...sorry..sorry..sorry.." Azure thought as she stared at the floor.
