Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: Territories

Dell was speechless when Sean suddenly left the venue. She hadn't expected him to just storm out like that, that she just stood there for several seconds, staring at the closing elevator doors.

"What's going on?" William's voice broke her out of her shock. "I saw your boyfriend just leave. Is everything alright?" He asked, coming up beside her.

Dell, still shaky, turned to Raph. "Raph, I am so sorry about Sean. I don't know what got into him."

"It's alright," Raph replied seriously. Then in a lighter note, he added, "He must just be having a bad day. Give him space. It'll be fine." He put a hand on Dell's back to escort her back into the middle of the hall.

"I think I'll go check on him." Dell said.

"Don't worry about him. He's a grown man. He'll come around."

"But there must be a reason why he would just storm off like that."

"The best thing for him right now is a little time off. Let him be. You should enjoy the party."

"I can't." Dell pulled away. "I need to fix this."

"Dell ..."

She faced Raph and clasped her hands together before her. "I am so very sorry. I sincerely apologize for his behavior."

"You don't have to apologize for him."

"But I do. He's my boyfriend."

"You weren't the one who walked off."

"I know, but... I still feel responsible somehow. I need to go after him. I hope you would still work with Kelly Bank after this."

"Of course. This and that are two separate things."

"Thank you. And I, again, apologize for this rudeness." With a slight bow, she headed towards the elevator.

"I'll drive you," William said walking after her.

"I have a car." Dell said, stopping to look at William.

"You're upset," he said in his usual business tone as he took one of the bags Dell was carrying and headed towards the elevator before her. "It would be safer if I drove you."

"I can drive her," Raph offered. "It's a little my fault after all."

"We couldn't possibly impose," William said, pressing the elevator button. "Besides, you're the host of this party. We couldn't in good conscience take you away from your guests. It wouldn't be right." The elevator door opened. Dell quickly stepped in. With a polite nod at Raph's direction, William stepped in the elevator.
