Dell was dressed early that morning. She opened her door quietly and looked to the left and to the right of the corridor. Sean was nowhere in sight. He must still be asleep. Dell breathed a sigh of relief and come out into the corridor. And as silently as she could, she set about locking her door.
Dell prided herself for being a collected and calm person, capable of controlling her own emotions. She wasn't like Max, who just gave in to any feeling that came along. Or like Tim, who did the opposite of what his emotions told him in his attempt to control them. She was strong and in-control... Just not right now.
She hardly slept a wink that night. Everytime she closed her eyes, she saw Sean moving in to kiss her. And then she'd remember the feel of his lips. On her cheek! It was just her cheek! And yet the butterflies still assailed her in full force! What was she, high school? Urgh! She was so annoyed at her reactions. And she refused REFUSED to admit that she was in love with him.
And until she could get these annoying emotions under control, she was going to avoid him.
Door locked! She turned around and there was Sean standing right behind her in running great. The smirk on his face told her he knew what she was up to.
"Sean!"
"Good morning, dear. Sneaking off before giving your darling his good morning kiss?"
"You're not my darling," she mumbled as she glared at him.
He leaned in and whispered, "Oh, yes, I am, for the next three months."
"Yaaah!" Dell stepped away from him. The proximity was not doing her heart any good. "It's a pretend thing, Sean!"
"Then start pretending already." He tapped his cheek. "Where's my morning kiss?"
"But..."
"I thought we had an agreement."
"But you're sweaty."
"I'm waiting." Sean leaned his face towards her. "Unless you want me to kiss you, instead?"
"Fine fine! I'll kiss you now."
Sean moved his cheek towards her. She hesitated. And annoyingly, it was not because she's didn't want to. Quickly, she gave him a peck, and flew down the corridor.
"There!" She called back. "Have a nice day!"
Thankfully, the elevator opened immediately. She stepped inside and hit the ground floor button. She could hear Sean's hearty laugh as the elevator door closed. He was enjoying this.
