A humanoid figure of light stood in pure white. Yet, if one were standing there the figure nor the emptiness around him would draw attention but instead the gigantic blurry figure of crimson which stood majestically. The crimson form was in similar shape to that of a beast. Standing on to legs though it may have been it possessed a tail, claws and three horns, two protruding from either side of the jaw and one from the snout. The texture and details of the creature could not be discerned due to the haziness of the image. A refined ancient voice echoed out, and even though the sound came from everywhere it was easy to tell that the beast was speaking.
"It seems I have succeeded. A shame that you are as weak as you are, being stronger would have provided you with stronger start." Though each word was meticulously spoken it was clear that the creatures time was limited. The humanoid figure show clear agitation but before it could make a sound the crimson blur continued.
"Please try and calm yourself, I know that from waking up into awareness can be startling but you should not panic. Simply you are a soul, as for your past which I assume you don't remember… It doesn't matter. You have died and now I lay here on death's bed too, but in a much more severe state." With a voice strangely soothing the beast accomplished his goal in calming the mind of the other blur.
"When you died your body perished yet your soul lived, however as I die my body will remain and my soul shall dissipate. Using the final bit of my strength I grabbed your soul, weak as it maybe it is healthy. You shall take my place and be me, my memories, your memories, my pain, your pain, and my joy, your joy. Your path to discovering self will come naturally so due not panic, your soul may be too weak now to have access to my full body but given the strength of mine, and now your, physical form your soul will strengthen over time…" After this something seemed to make the crimson light pause.
When he spoke again, solemnness crept into his voice "Seems I need to hurry; I have two pieces of advice for you, time is your friend and don't trust people, but once somebody is trust worthy don't let them go. Soul isn't strong enough to receive all the memories, so I mention this two things due to their importance… huh I guess my calculations where off and a had a little bit lon-" Before the sentence was finish the read blur vanished but as it dissipated the humanoid blur change form into a smaller and dimmer version of the crimson form, taking its place. What greeted the newly transformed soul was pure darkness…
It was strange for him, place he used to be was absent of everything but him and the other form. Yet, in the blackness which was the combination of everything, it seemed as empty as before. Thoughts were his only company in his time within the darkness. Some thoughts of 'When will I see or when can I see' floated in his consciousness but those were soon replaced by 'Who was I, what was I and where am I from?' Constantly swirled in his head. However, as time went on, eventually those thoughts morphed, 'Who am I, what am I, and where am I' sounded in his brain. Though subtle, he changed from thinking of himself as somebody becoming a different person, but instead as person or thing he was now.
Time passed and finally in the 173rd year of occupying the body he finally could open his eyes. Unexpectedly, instead of struggling with all his might to lift the lids covering his eyes that shot open instantly like a kid on his birth day. Taking pleasure in every moment, the creature scanned the place he was in. Damp stone walls that stood up to over 200 meters tall eventually arching over to a ceiling with stalactites crawling down from above was what welcomed his new vision. The cavern floor was covered in water puddles with meter long rats scurrying across. Due to the massive yellow eyes opening, different rodents squeaked and shrieked in fear. The sounds, however, were not heard as the creature's soul was not yet strong enough to make that part of the brain functional. Though unpleasant to anybody else, the sight was glorious for the giant eyes scanning the area.
After observing the cave for some time he spotted something more delightful than anything else he had seen, a puddle. However, it was not to the water itself, but instead what it reflected. The "puddle", as the beast referred, to was more the size of a pond with a diameter of about 10 meters in diameter. This surface allowed the beast to see the one thing his eyes had been waiting to know… what did he look like. Sadly, two things kept his full dream of being answered. Firstly, due to the lack of light to reflect of the surface of the pond he could only use the light from his eyes to see, making it hard to find any detail beside that which was closer to his iris. Secondly, the size of the pond was too small to get a full picture all at once of even his head.
Yet, refusing to give in his will to know his identity pushed him forward. As he staring into the pond what looked back was to large yellow eyes with slits such as a snake's. His skin color and texture where not visible as stone covered most what looked like his head. However, the shape was still clear enough to define as, something. The shape that was carved into the wall would, by most, seem as if just a strange formation. Yet, for the beast who possessed the memory of that blurry crimson, it couldn't be more obvious. If one was to face the wall the image could be described as, a triangular shaped head with two curved cones on the side and one smaller one at top. Each one blended into the rocky surface not showing its full size. However, when the two glowing yellow orbs on the rock mass saw it, identifying those curved cones as horns could not be easier. After sometime of daydreaming about his appearance the beast closed his eyes once again.
