Justin didn't answer her question. He drove straight into the base confirming her suspicion. She held on tight to the seatbelt, not moving an inch.
He stopped the car and turned towards her. She still wasn't moving.
"Winnie," he called out.
She totally ignored him.
"They wanted to meet you."
She finally turned her head to him.
"You know, there's something called prior notification," she said as she rolled her eyes at him.
"Too early?"
"Too early your ass. You should have let me know so I'd prepare psychologically."
She couldn't tell what he was thinking.
"They'll all love you."
He alighted from the car and went over to her. He undid her belt and carried her out. She still wasn't letting go off the belt. She shook her head at him vigorously. He laughed at her antics.
"They'll see you this way, you know!"
She quickly let go and adjusted her clothes.
"Do I look alright?"
She was so nervous.
"You're beautiful," he said pettingly.
They made their way towards the office. Officers stopped to salute Justin along the way. Winnie trailed behind him trying not to show her face.
"Bolton reporting," he saluted as he greeted his superior.
"At ease," he smiled as he looked up from his documents to see Justin.
He dragged her right out from behind him.
"I brought my girlfriend over to meet my mentor."
"Claudia, this is Major Martins. He's my mentor and superior here at the base."
"Major, this is my girlfriend, Claudia James."
Seeing as how Justin had addressed the middle aged man as his mentor, Claudia adjusted her mood and greeted the man with respect.
"She's lovely," he commented.
Justin's smile filled with pride as Claudia thanked him shyly. They didn't stay long with Martins. She ended up following Justin around to say hi to his fellow brothers. They shared a meal with them at the cafeteria before bidding their goodbyes.
Claudia was still stunned while Justin was feeling himself. His brothers had praised him for having such a gorgeous and graceful girlfriend.
"Where are we headed off to this time?" She didn't trust him anymore. One more surprise visit and she was going to collapse.
"Home. Kevin's home."
She hadn't had the chance to speak to Kevin about the development of things. Justin's apology and confession stopped their plan abruptly.
Nothing special happened the rest of the day. They spent their first date getting to know each other better and most of the time was spent around their loved ones. It was the best first date for the couple.
