Chapter 37 - Family Meeting II

Upstairs, Claudia had fallen asleep from exhaustion. As usual, Justin cleaned her up before setting her back to sleep. It was already 4pm and the meal had gone cold. He made his way downstairs to replenish his energy.

The people downstairs heard footsteps approaching and hurried to take their seats. They all turned their attention towards the staircase.

Thinking there was nobody home, he made his way to the dining area without paying attention to the living room. It was when he sat down to serve himself a plate he finally noticed the group staring at him. His hands trembled and the ceramic bowl almost dropped.

"Hi there Mr. Bigfoot," Janet greeted with a playful smile.

Justin had no idea how to react.

"Come here boy," Bertha beseeched.

He snapped out of it and made it to where the ladies sat.

The mothers and grandmothers of the 3 amigos assessed their future-in-law without blinking. He looked pleasing to the eye.

The grandmothers had met him over the videocall, so he wasn't a stranger to them. The mothers on the other hand hadn't been opprotuned to meet with him as Claudia hid him away.

"I'm Bertha, Winnie's mom," she introduced Summer and Autumn's moms also.

"You've already met with the grandmothers."

Justin lowered his head respectfully to the ladies.

"It's my pleasure meeting you all," he said in a bass tone. His voice shook the heart of the women. He already passed their tests by 70%.

"Winnie already explained everything to us. Of course as her family members, we condemned you for hurting her," Barbara said.

"But seeing how you're making it up to her by making her happy everyday, we forgive you," Regina continued.

"I hope you treat her right in the future also," Janet added.

Justin was stunned. He made a mental note never to offend Claudia... never! Apart from the 6 women in front of him, he also knew about Flora and Seraphina. Seeing how fierce the older generation was, those two should be fiercer.

"I'll try my best now and in the future to always bring her endless happiness, never to know a day of pain."

His assurance made the women nod with satisfaction. He was an excellent young man.

"We'll leave now. You can have your meal and hurry up to serve the madam upstairs." They all chuckled as they waved on their way out.

Justin breathed in a sigh of relief. His heart had dropped to his stomach when he spotted them. Now that everything was settled on her side, he was going to bring her home tomorrow.

Claudia finally woke up and made her way down. He didn't tell her about the mini family meeting. They had their meal and cuddle up to watch TV.

The next day would be Claudia's turn to meet with the unexpected.
