Chapter 11 - cull quests and the beginning

Chuckling as he walked through the streets he released a subtle pressure in response to the glares. The people averted their gaze and shuffled quickly to get out of his sight.

"You really shouldn't do that, they just don't understand." Came Diana's voice along with the clanking of metal.

"I should've known I'd see you treacherous women again." Remarked Draig without looking at them.

"Treacherous? That's a bit harsh." Commented Diana.

"So are sneak attacks. Now I will assume this was a coincidence?" Answered Draig his eyes looking towards a clothing store where noble attire could be seen.

"Actually daddy asked me to come find you, he wants to talk to you about training." Explained Diana looking huffy.

"I'm afraid I'm not available." Chuckled Draig, causing the girl to sigh.

"What has you so busy." Came Jane's voice echoing from the armor she wore.

"Oh nothing for mortals to concern themselves with. Now if you don't mind I have business to attend to." Stated Draig as he went to the workstation.

----

Upon arrival he went to the job board and started looking for something more high tier. Something that would test him a bit and add to his abilities.

"Hmmm a dark guild.. that would be quite the boon. What else do we have..." Draig grabbed the dark guild elimination quest and request to collect elemental crystals.

They were both silver tier but as a soloer he didn't have to pay attention to the ranking system to take quests.

Nodding to himself he went to register his quests, the attendant at the counter didn't even bother looking at them as she stamped them.

With that the young vampire went on his way though he did intend to stop by a large supplier to set his plans in motion.

----- Magicenter

Draig stepped into the store and smirked when he saw his intended targets. There were several Guilders he could see that had the telling signs of addiction.

Stepping up to the counter he smirked when he saw the angered look of the cashier.

"What do you want." Spoke the cashier making his disdain known.

"I was wondering if you perhaps bought potions, I have some true potions I'd like to part with." Spoke Draig loud enough for the people inside to hear over their own conversations.

"True potions you say? Why didn't you say so young friend." Smiled the cashier shifting his attitude surprising Draig.

The vampire revealed a few vials causing the man to grin even wider.

"Oh let me just test this real quick, so many forgeries nowadays with dyes and what not." The man explained taking a little bit and putting it in a odd machine causing it to bing harmoniously.

This caught the attention of those in the store which didn't go unnoticed by Draig.

"Oh wonderful, so I can offer ten gold per potion. Does that sound agreeable?" Asked the cashier.

"Indeed. So go ahead and add these as well." Smiled Draig unloading the rest of the potions he made causing the cashier to grin even wider.

"So many? How did you come across such a fortune?" Asked the cashier.

"I figured out how to make them." Spoke Draig loudly causing the Guilders to look at him greedily.

The cashier however had other thoughts.

"You made these? Would you perhaps be willing to sell the recipe?" Asked the man with greed in his gaze.

"I'm afraid not, you understand why." Chuckled Draig as he saw Guilders start walking out of the store.

"Of course." Said the cashier with a forced smile.

Collecting his payment he chuckled seeing the lingering gazes of the addicts.

----

Continuing on his way, he grinned knowing that soon the Guilders would come seek him out to do business or something foolish.

In fact he was counting on the latter.

Heading to another trader he bought supplies at a inflated rate before heading out to accomplish his quest.

-----

It seemed a small group of deserters had come together to try and form a dark guild within reach of district ten.

"At least it should be fun." Sighed Draig as he continued on his way.

----- Zarra

"Zarra boy, I have some awful news.... it's about the Leech lad." came an aged voice as he spoke to Zarra.

"What do you mean?" asked Zarra now on alert.

"He has undergone a fundamental challenge, I fear it may be time to stop your little pet project..." spoke the aged voice.

"Why do you say that, what kind of a change?" asked Zarra a stone settling in his stomach.

"The kind that leads to people dying... I have done my best to assist you but I will not look away when such a threat lays right in our front yard. You will find a solution or I will expose this farce, you have done your best to honor that woman but now it's time to honor your position." stated the aged voice with no room for argument.

"Can't we wait to see if it's really an issue..." suggested Zarra knowing if he acted the vampire would never forgive him.

However while the two were talking he received a few messages of an endearing sort, the contents caused his eyes to light up at a possible alternative and maybe even an escape for the lad.
