We are soon handed a crudely drawn map of from the Staff detailing where to go, and its handed off to Yoo-ah.
She puts on a little aegyo act and then with a small hop skip leads the way.
This makes all the uncles contently satisfied, as they are hooking arms for some reason.
I slow my pace down deciding to keep up with the forgotten sisters, Hyo and Se-jin.
Usually this would be the time for Hyo to show the temper she's famous for but it looks like since I've kept the duo company, she relented on the verbal abuse.
After a short walk, we enter through large wooden gates, and into the courtyard of a very traditionally styled farm manor with a straw grass roof.
We are greeted by a lovely elderly couple. Whose style looks as if it has traveled straight from the 60's.
After handing over their house to the 'family' they proceed to have the vacation sponsored by the broadcasting company.
After the cameras and crew have set up. We once more begin filming, as Raesung is handed the to do list for this week.
Taesuk then takes the reigns as the MC as he begins reading out loud, "Firstly, Make molasses. Second, Knit together straw moonhouses and have a bonfire and Finally, Watch over the house well."
Yoo-ah exclaims in joy.
She's really good with her reactions.
That's a true pro right there.
Nong-shin, the ever lazy old man, chimes in, "We have to make molasses?"
"That's what it says"
I can't help but ask, "How do you make molasses?"
This causes the eyes of the dumb and dumber duo to light up.
Raesung, taking this opportunity to show off, "You don't know how to make it? hur hur. Hyung, he doesn't know how"
Taesuk plays along, "Didn't we learn how to make this in kindergarten. Tsk Tsk today's education"
Hyo then shuts the duo up, " So how do you make it?"
They huddle up and after a loud internal meeting, "Hyung, how do you make it?" "I don't know I thought you did" , they decide to give the following statement, "We don't want to spoil the fun, PD-nim, why don't you tell them how to?"
Hyo is clearly annoyed and starts kicking them, which is a really funny scene to see two grown men, run from a vicious little chihuahua like female.
After calm is restored Tae-suk begins his hosting duties once more, "At this village, in order to usher in an abundant new year, they have a tradition of erecting a tree house, and then burning it"
Nong-shin then adds, "The need firewood and bamboo, to make the house, so we need two teams to go get the firewood and to get the bamboo"
So in order to find the materials for the house first, Taesuk appoints Yoo-ah to pick the guys to go with her.
She begins to look around, strangely enough we are already separated into two groups.
On the left of her is I, Chumhee, Gu-ro and Se-jin while on the other is Hyo, Taesuk, Raesung, and Nong-shin.
With a little hop she lands in front of our group and make her choice, "These guys right here!"
The guys in our group can't help but get excited and Chumhee can't stop himself from smiling.
I laugh as she didn't even take a full second to decide and Taesuk duo are already bickering now that they are stuck with Hyo.
I honestly don't know why Korean men prefer the cutesy act rather than the mature sexy type.
Isn't it cuter when someone like Hyo becomes shy and blushes than when someone who does it all the time?
After getting changed into more comfortable clothes.
We, Yoona's team, head to the bamboo forest. To chop some tree's
Since, Chum-hee and Gu-ro are having fun so much fun pretending to be Yoo-ah's Knights as they guide her.
I can't help but join in on the fun.
Seeing Chumhee and I, walking next to each other, Yoo-ah can't help comment for the cameras, "You guys are really tall"
"I guess. I'm 185. How about you Hyung?"
"187" He responds confidently.
Gu-ro chides in response, "I don't know about Dylan but Chun-hee's height is useless"
No wonder his character is called step-mother Gu-ro. Chumderalla has it tough.
He continues and asks, "Yoo-ha what's your ideal height for a guy?"
She answers. "I don't really care about height?"
"How about age?" I ask, "older or younger?"
"Uhmmm older"
This causes Chumhee and Gu-ro to break out in smile, "Hyung, We have hope!"
Not long thereafter, we officially begin our work to start mowing the bamboo and are each handed handsaw.
While the other three are still busy making quality tv content, I am working up quite the sweat.
Rolling up my sleeves I begin warming the wood, I cut a bit to prevent it from splintering.
I slowly teach them to cut at a 45-degree angle, and by making sure that their saw is sharp enough so the cut is clean and not jagged.
I then my way over to help Yoo-ah who is seriously struggling.
I don't think this girl has ever done manual labour.
From behind, I lean over and grab her hand, guiding her and with a quick motion am able to cut through the stalk of the bamboo.
I look to her, "As a general rule, faster cuts will preserve the structure more. Next time do it just like I showed you. One Shot. Okay?"
"Thank you" she says, as I notice that she is slightly reddish.
'She must be cold'
Taking off my jacket, I wrap it around her.
"Were you getting cold? Did your manager really only give you a skirt for this weather sheesh!"
"Uh Yeah"
"Anyway I'm off to go help the idiots of there"
"Uh Yeah"
Not one to be outdone, Chumhee notices my actions and starts portraying a Male lead in a romance drama, pushing me aside, "Excuse me" he says before he starts randomly fixing her hair.
I can't help but admire this young man.
His shamelessness is something to behold.
No wonder he is my sunbae!
