Somewhere deep within a rather peculiar forest...
One that's full of mysterious white fog, and creepy-looking trees. Obviously, this forest reeks of danger, looks like trouble, and clearly the perfect place for hillbillies that love to procreate with nature.
Ok, kidding about that last part but still. If you've spent a lot of time near creepy dark forests, you'd realize that there're a lot of people here who like to do dangerous things, do not want attention, and are usually excruciatingly sensitive to friendly gestures.
Down the ground beside a particular narrow river, lied the skeleton remains of, well, someone. By the looks of it, however, appeared to be something similar to a warrior, or perhaps a knight in shining armor that got its armor ripped off and was now just a knight in no armor.
Hey, you never know...
Wait, no, my bad. Pointed off the wrong side of the river. Let's just start from the beginning again. There was another skeleton remains of, well, not really sure either. At least now you know that there're actually two bodily remains.
By the looks of it though, it appeared to be similar to that of a... hmm... let's just say that the fellow was once a porter. Carrying the luggage of this proud knight, it must've died along with him, poor boy.
Bang!
The muddy clouds suddenly thundered down. It's really unexpected to see lightning at this time of hour. With the muddy clouds present, it didn't look like a storm was brewing at the moment. But, it did.
A blue flash crackled down from the mud-colored skies. Thunder that streaked all around, like that of the root of a tree. It aimed downwards, towards the corpse of the knight.
It took a while to describe, but it actually occurred in a split-second.
Boom!
Lightning zapped through the bony remains. The surface of which, trickled with intense blue. In just a moment's notice, it had already spread across the remains. Now that something like this happened, you expected something miraculous to happen right?
Well, I'm not the one to judge, even I don't know what'll happen. Pretty sure it takes a while to happen, so we'll just wait it out a bit.
30 seconds...
1 minute...
3 minutes...
5 minu...
Crackle! Crackle!
One of the skeleton remains vibrated viciously. It's entirety, including its parts concealed below ground, all vibrating. It took its time vibrating, but eventually, it stopped. Then, the first thing it did, was it rose its head and looked directly at my eyes.
"Sup..." Is what I wanted to say. But being another skeleton myself, I didn't have vocal cords or anything else to replace it So the only thing I did; was I nudged by head cooly once, and looked directly back at its eyes.
Surprisingly, the awoken skeleton was that of the porter's. A small trickle of that lightning must have split its course, and coincidentally, it marked the porter's corpse. As for how I know these names, words, and how to think rationally, it might be because I'm wearing some kind of robe that signified my status as someone of remarkable intellectuality.
But unfortunately, I don't know what I am, where I came from, and who I once was. Basing my hypothesis on some of the facts I know, I must've also been struck by that lightning. But ever since then, I hadn't moved a single bit from my original spot.
The reason why this was so? I wanted to see if the other two remains near me, would awake as well. I also wanted to find out how I originally awoke. These very questions were the first thing I thought of when I first awoke.
Turning my head to look at the porter, it seemed confused. As though it didn't really know why it was here. It raised both of its hands and stared at them, looking at them as if it was its first time seeing them.
Heh, don't worry friend, I can very much sympathize with you. The fact that you gazed at your hands like that must mean that you've retained some of your past wisdom. Although I forgot what that means, it seems like it matches the situation, so I'm using it anyways.
Crackle!
I raised my right hand forward and hollered him to come close. This gesture engraved deep in my bones, literally, must mean something friendly. A long time of doing nothing, and just waiting for a lightning to show up gives you a lot of time to think.
It got me time to organize my words and thoughts. Though I'm not really sure which ones right or wrong. As for what that means, right or wrong, I don't even know that either. Maybe right is wrong, or wrong is right. But then again, I don't know what I'm talking about.
I'm just blabbering nonsense!
Tap! Tap! Tap!
The porter stood up, picked itself out from the ground, before walking towards where I am. But then, it stopped right in the middle of the river, as if it was lost in thought. Quickly, it went back towards the place it once lied and picked up a bag with countless holes, all across.
As for what was inside the bag? I peeked my head a little bit closer, I saw nothing. The bag was completely empty. But you never know when it might possibly help you, so I gave him another gesture.
I raised my right hand forward again and raised my thumb upward. I think this was called a thumbs-up. Pretty sure its another nice gesture.
The porter, looking at my gestures, looked confused. It turned its head to look up but saw nothing. Then, turning its head back down, it looked back at me again and gave me a thumbs-up.
I looked at him and, I grew confused as well. I turned my head to look up to the skies and saw nothing. Whatever he meant, I decided that it didn't matter much. I nudged him with another holler and continued to sit down motionless, waiting for the other lightning to show up.
Hey, I don't leave skeletons behind. That's just cruel and evil!
If you're still wondering, no, I don't know what that means either.
Meanwhile, while I was lost in contemplation, the porter came close and sat next to me. It took its time trying to find a comfortable position before finally ending up using my lap as a pillow. It crept down slowly, making itself even comfier, and used its bag as a sort of blanket with holes.
Genius! Why didn't I think of that? That position looks intensely comfortable. Had I discovered this long ago, I'd probably won't have this achy feeling all around. It's like my whole body is so stiff. I'll need to deal with that later too.
The bag too. I knew it had some unexpected virtues lying about. Who knew that you could use that to make a blanket?
Oh... now I know what that word means.
So with that as my thoughts, I slipped my hands through one of my various pockets inside my robe. Yes, I apparently have a lot of pockets inside my robes, when suddenly, I felt that something was missing.
I cruised both of my hands this time to search all of my pockets inside my robe, finding various different things yes and even several new items I have yet to inspect. But the feeling of something missing was still there.
Strange... I really did feel that there should've been something there. But I'm not quite sure what it is. Oh well, I'll be able to figure it out later if I have some more time to think. Heck, I still have a while to think what that missing thing is.
We're still waiting for the warrior to wake up, aren't we?
I leaned my back softly unto the hollow-looking tree behind me and drowned myself in my thoughts. All the while the porter was resting at my lap, whether or not he was thinking or sleeping was hard to figure out, we waited for another lightning to strike.
