So good news, It's not as lonely as before. With the porter here by my side, I feel quite better than before. The thought of, someone being there for you, even though they probably don't have anything better to do, is pretty nice.
But the bad news is, the porter doesn't talk at all!
The fact that it doesn't have a vocal chord, like me, is understandable. However, the only thing it does all day is sleep by my lap. At least, it should try to interact with me, right? Or maybe I should try to interact with it... hmm, haven't tried that yet...
Well, that's that. I'm not exactly sure exactly how long I've been... no, we've been waiting for, but the sky seemed quite sunny today for some reason. It's almost as though I could see the blue skies again.
Light shined through the premise, piercing through the foggy mist. Ah yes, the yellow shine of the morning is upon us. I just love how the light reflects off the flowing river, glistening off a brilliant glow. This light is from this thing called, sun, I think.
Well, again, I've never stepped outside this very spot, so I don't even know what it is.
Godsakes, I have much figuring out to...
Bang!
The awaited lightning strikes once more! It's actually been happening much frequent lately, but it doesn't quite land where I need it to. Most of the time, they come in ones, burning a tree or two and all that. Sometimes, they even come in pairs, striking even more trees. But occasionally, they can even come in storms.
They come in rarely. But when they do, it's never peaceful here.
Let me tell you something. Every time it happens, it always gives me a skull-ache. As for the porter's thoughts on this, pretty sure it's disturbed as well. Keeps moving and shaking all the time.
The lightning's trajectory was, of course, the tree directly beside that warrior. The thunder went down like roots of a tree, slamming down unto one of its branches. Coincidentally, it just so happened that one of the bolts split off from its main course.
Even more coincidental, is how it just so happened to land on the warrior's corpse. It was as if the bolt of lightning was attracted to the warrior's corpse. The small zap-like bolt, although you might've expected something spectacular is about to occur, nothing happened.
This was within my expectation. Now we'll just wait for a few, to see if my hypothesis was correct.
30 seconds...
1 minute...
3 minutes...
Crackle! Crackle!
It didn't even take 3 minutes! The warrior's whole shook; both ones underneath the soil and ones atop. Fascinating... It took the porter 5 minutes to finish this very process, while the warrior only took 3. Must've had something to do with the previous bolt, or maybe of some other reason. I wonder how long it took me to finish?
The warrior shrugged its entirety starting from top-to-bottom, like someone who had just awaken from a good night's sleep. It then proceeded to rise from its place, picking off the bones stuck underground, one bone at a time.
It seemes like the bones were, after the thunder struck, were all suddenly connected. So whether its that warrior, the porter, or even me, we'd probably have a hard time trying to detach our bodily par...
Crack!
Yeah, I spoke too soon. The porter accidentally jumped while it was, apparently asleep this whole time, and snapped my carpal bones open. It might've seen the warrior suddenly waking up, but didn't exactly know how the hell it did. It was as if his very means of logic was shattered by this scene.
By the sound of this, we have officialy attracted the warrior's attention.
On its right hand, a rusty sword I make it out to be. On the verge of breaking, it seems. But it really gives off a sturdy feel. On its left, was a simple wooden buckler. Wait, it might be too much of an exaggeration to say that. It really just looks like a makeshift shield, torn apart from a wooden floor.
It looked, really messy.
Aside from that, unlike the porter, it appeared that it also had some clothes for show. Well, rags rather. Just a small linen cloak, but in horrible shape. The items he had on, must've been submerged underneath all that dirt.
The porter, seeing the warrior and all its items and cool-looking clothes, it frowned. Then it looked at me, and my gorgeously-looking robe that's actually just a piece of rag made of linen as well, but with a lot pockets, it frowned even more.
Then it looked at himself, and its face seemed to darken. But it was then, that an idea sprouted from the porter's very bones. It used its bag, the one with countless of holes there neath, inserted its torso, and...
Oh my lord, it's wearing clothes now. Or as how I'd like to call it, it's wearing a bag now.
Comparing that leather bag with many holes around, and our simple linen rag clothing, its simply incomparable. It looks really nice to touch, I wonder how'd it feel if I touched it?
I carefully stood myself up, patting the dust off my robe while I'm at it, all before nearing the proud porter. Seeing me grow close, it grew weary, taking a couple of steps backwards unconcsciously.
Well, if it doesn't want me to touch it, then it doesn't want me to touch it. It's fine really, I'll just get better clothes in the future and we'll see how that porter deals with it.
Ah, yes. I just remembered.
All the while we were goofing around, the warrior just kept staring at us with weird looks. Ok, I have to confess something before we continue. True, us skeleton remains don't have facial expressions. But even without it, we're somehow able to diffrenciate which one's which.
I'm able to, at least.
So with that, I used one of my fancy gesturings, and hollered the warrior to come close. We'll just relax around here and wait for something interesting to happen, I thought.
The warrior looked at me, then at the porter, before finally ending his gaze at the river. Just like the porter, It stood there for a while, yes. For a time, not me or even the porter did anything as we watched the warrior.
Crackle! Crackle!
Then, it finally decided. It wanted to know where this river ended.
With a wave of its hand at us, it walked away. Following the river course as it did so. Hmph, if you're going to leave us behind, fine. But don't expect us to follow you on you're journey towards the end of that river...
The porter gazed at the fleeting figure, then at the scholar. It took just a couple of seconds for it to decide on what to do, but as soon as it did, the porter made a grasping hand of the right and left.
Tap! Tap! Tap!
Indeed, the porter decided to follow the warrior, again. On its way to un-treaded territories, on its way towards danger! Well, two can play it that way. But what about this place? I've been here my entire life, and I'm really starting to like it here.
Only, if I stay here, I'll be alone again... and that's something, I don't want to experience again.
