That was what Mei Ling kept telling herself ever since she woke up on a comfortable bed in a comfy-looking room.
The furniture had a modern look that seemed simple and basic, but anyone could tell that everything here was expensive. Whoever lived here must be a big shot.
However what Mei Ling couldn't fathom was why she was here. All she remembered was trying to catch a thief? Inhaling, she tried to remember everything from before up to now. Her head hurt and for a moment thought she saw herself getting hit by a large truck! And it seemed so real too!
Thankfully, it was just her imagination. Grabbing her hands on the side of the large bed, she tried getting up. "Ummphh!" Why did it hurt so much?!
Hearing a stir right outside the door, she froze. Coming in was tall, dashing man, around the twenties. He had warm eyes that although were grey lit up the whole room and messy grey hair a similar color to his eyes highlighted by the light coming in from the window. Coming in a light daze, she quickly shook it off.
"Oh, you're awake?", he murmured.
"Excuse m-me uncle, c-could...you tell me what I'm doing here?" She barely manage to squeak the sentence out. How dry her throat was!
Cough cough Cough. "Ahem, uncle?"
Not willing to speak another word with her sore throat she kept quiet. Analyzing the man before her more carefully this time, Mei Ling realized that he had a tiny mole right under his left eye and his lips seemed especially soft. However, she didn't blush at all! This was a situation the man was severely confused with.
"You..crashed into my car on a highway. May I know what you were doing there, miss?"
What!? Mei Ling knew she had never gone onto a highway when she was chasing the thief. So how could she have crashed into his car?! With the slightest sliver of hope, she asked, "C-could..I have a m-mirror please, uncle?"
Cough Cough "As long as you don't call me uncle any more?" , the edges of his lips were twitching.
Nodding, she agreed silently.
Opening the door, the man signaled to a maid preparing to dust a large antique vase to get a mirror.
A few seconds passing by quickly, a silver cased mirror was passed over to Mei Ling whom rushingly looked into it.
First, her eyes revealed a blank expression. Then, her eyes widened as if she was frightened by her own reflection.
Two seconds passed. Her pupils looked as if cracked into a thousand tiny shards.
Another second passed. Her eyes went back to her originally calm look.
As this all happened, the man had studied her intently. The man couldn't tell what the girl felt just like how the girl couldn't feel his stare.
A large few seconds passed and at last, a cracking guffaw that may originally have sounded beautiful came out horrible from the girl's dry throat. That tiny sliver of hope she had did not come out disappointed at all!
She had really transmigrated into the body of another girl's body!
During the time she had looked into the beautiful mirror was the time she had her most horrifying and exciting experience!
Damn! She had really died crashing into a truck trying to catch a thief! Strangely, she did not feel resentful at all and instead was thrilled this had happened!
