"Do you want eat here or at home?" He gently asked as he walked behind her .
When Han Meixiu heard the tender voice behind her, she was startled for a bit. She didn't notice him when he walked towards her at all. Maybe she was too engrossed of what she's doing.
He leaned forward to check what's on the screen as she was too focused. When he saw that it wasn't an urgent task to finish he spoke again before his wife could answer his first question.
"You don't need to do this now." He said.
"Uh-huh. I'll just wrap up and we can go. You can decide where we eat." She was getting conscious as his face was just an inch away from her cheek. She could even feel the subtle heat emitting from his body. His masculine scent that was invading her sense of smell gave her an intoxicating feeling.
They've been spending quite some time together but he still has that kind effect on her. Thinking how she would respond easily to him, she wanted to scold herself.
Liu Zijian looked at the young woman who somewhat breathed irregularly suddenly.
"Are you okay?"
The simple question made Han Meixiu flustered when she felt his soft breath tickled her senses.
She wanted to answer 'no!' but it would only make the other person curious for the reason. As she didn't want to speak in fear of saying the wrong words, she simply nodded.
Although Liu Zijian straightened his back after Han Meixiu answered, his eyes didn't leave her. She was clearly not okay as she's getting red but why did she tell him otherwise?
He was wondering if she still couldn't trust him. But last night, she clearly showed her defenseless side. Wasn't that because she trusted him? Why was it different now?
The clueless young woman was asking herself why he's like scrutinizing her at this moment as she could obviously feel his gaze. She wondered if her answer made him that way. After she turned off her computer, she glanced timidly at Liu Zijian.
"I'm done."
He didn't answer but instead continued looking intently at her. It was after a few more minutes when he opened his lips to asked an unexpected question.
"Do you trust me?"
"Of course, I do." She immediately answered while she asked herself where did the idea of not trusting him come from.
"Good. Then next time, tell me the truth." He simply said then he turned towards his table and arranged some documents quickly before extending his hands towards her as a sign that it's time for them to go.
His movement was so instantaneous that before she could even react they were already walking towards the door hand in hand.
Han Meixiu pondered about what truth he was talking about. Was it about earlier when he asked her if she's okay or was it something else.
She wasn't sure if she's ready to tell him about how her father saved them yesterday. Also, considering that Han Yun Xiang was clearly hiding, it was just given that he didn't want anyone to know his whereabouts nor what he did.
She just hoped that Liu Zijian would never ask about it as she would really be in serious dilemma. She's not a very good liar. If her husband would ask her a correct question pertaining to what happened, then she really would divulge the truth without even realizing it.
When the two were exiting the hotel, Mr. Liu called Liu Zijian informing him that Han Meixiu's things were found. They could pick them up in the hospital as they were delivered together with Liu Zilong's belongings.
Second Young Master Liu decided to drop by tomorrow morning to get his wife's things and decided to eat at their own place for dinner.
Liu Zijian's place wasn't really that far from the Emerald Imperial Hotel. Its distance from the hotel was almost the same as Han Meixiu's apartment. They're just located in opposite direction. Both were actually walking distance but the air quality during the later part of this day was extremely bad thus walking wasn't a good choice.
This time of the year when spring's about to end and summer's starting, fine dust pollution was very common in K Country.
When they arrived Aunt Jing was in the middle of preparing food. After the latter greeted the couple she went back to the kitchen.
Han Meixiu normally wanted to talk to Aunt Jing but her hand was securely held by Liu Zijian thus she followed him to their room.
Only when they were inside he let it go and turned to face her.
When his father called, Mr. Liu briefly mentioned some details about Big Zi's 'saviors'. He has been thinking if he would ask her or not. Though he already decided not to ask and investigate on his won, the result wasn't something he expected.
It was as if the person was covering his or her track, they couldn't gather further information aside from the car they used to go to the hospital that was 'borrowed'. If his original plan was to simply express his gratitude, his goal now was more than just saying 'thanks'.
He was never an indecisive person but at this moment he's having difficulties.
Han Meixiu clearly felt that Liu Zijian wanted to say something but was hesitating. Her heart started to pound rapidly as she's becoming worried. She needed to think of something to avoid being interrogated. She decided to keep quiet about the involvement of her father.
"I'll change first." She said softly and walked past him.
"Meixiu,"
'Oh no!' She stopped and nervously asked, "Why?"
He deeply breathed in and slowly exhaled before he said, "I understand if you don't want to talk about the person who helped both you and Big Zi. But..."
"Zijian, he's not a bad person. Please don't investigate further." She said immediately in pleading tone not giving the other person another chance to complete what he wanted to say. She knew it was a bit rude but she wouldn't be able to control herself from spilling the beans if she would let Liu Zijian continue.
"Okay, we'll leave it at that." He answered and went out of the room to go to the study.
Han Meixiu's body relaxed when she was finally alone in the room.
