Liu Zijian simply greeted the man who was smiling subtly without changing much of his reaction as he slowly stopped walking. Though he was a bit baffled why he's here, he could not lure out the fact that maybe, Chen Dewei was also planning to scout the potential market in K Country.
The two were acquainted as their family both belong in the same circle in Q City. There was one gathering that they were introduced but after the brief encounter they didn't really talk much.
In most cases that they bumped into each other they simply greeted one another by simply bowing and not really greeting like what he just did. It was as if he wanted something or he wanted his presence to be known.
"I'm surprised you're now with someone?" Chen Dewei asked when he saw Han Meixiu peeked from behind.
"My wife," Liu Zijian answered and observed the other man's reaction to check if there was something out of the ordinary. After all they were engaged first. But he didn't see any.
"Oh. That would be Han Meixiu, right?" He simply said without any trace of possible malice on his face as he maintained his facial reaction.
It was either he didn't really have it or he's just good at concealing it.
The moment Han Meixiu heard her name, she unconsciously tightened her grip on Liu Zijian's hand that made him looked at her with a tender expression. It was as if she's asking some kind of protection and he's saying not to worry.
"We meet again," Chen Dewei softly said to Han Meixiu with a surprisingly friendly tone but the split moment Liu Zijian looked at his wife a flash of animosity appeared on his eyes. His countenance dimmed for a very short period of time. The movement of Han Meixiu's hand didn't go unnoticed from his discerning eyes. The subtle action was like a knife that pierced through his heart. He's been bleeding silently since he saw them enter together earlier. It just got worse.
She responded by timidly nodding. Though Chen Dewei owned a face to behold, she could feel some kind of danger emitting from him. Maybe she was just overthinking as she did a not so good thing to escape her engagement from him. She somewhat didn't really want to encounter him as much as possible.
"I apologize about the situation. I didn't know my name was dragged into a child's play." Chen Dewei continued when Liu Zijian looked at him again.
"It's fine. We'll go ahead first." Liu Zijian simply answered excusing themselves. Although he didn't believe that Chen Dewei wasn't aware of what the old Han did, his looks remained unconcern. He's part of her past thus he didn't really give importance to him as long as he would remain that way.
"Sure. If there's anything you need to compensate for that, feel free to inform me." Chen Dewei said sounding benevolent. Although he was looking at Liu Zijian, more than half of his attention was focused on Han Meixiu from his peripheral vision.
He couldn't stop himself lamenting to himself secretly for what happened. When he first saw her, it was her grandmother's hand she was holding for comfort, then it was her best friend and now it's Liu Zijian. It should have been him.
"No need." He shortly and politely said. After a simple customary bowed, the couple walked out. Aside from the fact that he's not a person well equipped with a communication skills, he didn't want to expose his wife to this man longer than necessary. The mere fact that he was 'married' to her left a bad taste on his mouth.
Chen Dewei's gaze followed the two until they disappeared from his sight when they reached the exit. He was especially focused on those two intertwined hands as if they were created to be together to torment him.
It was also the time Mr. Kuo returned and saw him staring at someone's back longer than usual.
"Third Young Master Chen, are you familiar with them?" Mr. Kuo carefully asked. This man didn't really give other people a lingering look in normal circumstances. There were very few people who could enter his eyes. Clearly, the couple might be one of them. Unfortunately he didn't see who those people were.
"You could say that." He briefly answered as if he didn't want him to further probe his answer.
It was a good thing he agreed with the meeting this early. He was able to see her. He normally wanted to just observed the two from a distance but before he knew it, he was already walking towards them when he saw they were leaving. He wanted his presence to be known. He wanted her to remember him.
Sensing the dismissive tone on his voice, Mr. Kuo then lead the man towards the elevator to attend a private meeting. Like him, he's interested with the 'improvised' bullet that was secretly circulating the past few days. A certain organization even made a public 'test' to make it known clearly showing that the 'creator' was asking for a 'good' price for those who would be interested.

While walking towards the car, Han Meixiu's grip started to relax. She didn't know why she felt that meeting Chen Dewei in K Country's capital wasn't a simple case of coincidence. She couldn't shake off that he might be here for a certain revenge because of the humiliation he suffered. But based from his reaction earlier, there was nothing that was seemed off.
When they entered the car, she couldn't help herself to ask the question that was bugging her.
"What's the situation Third Young Master Chen talked about?"
"It's nothing. Just an insignificant situation. You don't need to be bothered about by it." He answered as he ordered Ye Ming to drive. He gave her a reassuring glance before he diverted his eyes on the road ahead.
"Oh, I see." She normally wanted to ask how did they know each other but considering the status of both of their families she simple concluded that it's inevitable for them to be acquainted with each other. She also swallowed down her curiosity about the 'situation' since he said not to bother.
