Chapter 27 - XXVII NavRavan

Adi's POV,

25 minutes into the flight we are about to move above the Ganga. The pilot tells us through his speaker, "Dear passengers, you can all look down at the mighty Ganga flowing majestically-"

He is interrupted by a coarse sound, "You have amongst you, supporters of heaven. You are all fated to die"

There is a huge blast near the nose of the plane. The two engines of the plane light up into a fire. I look at Dharmendra, Charles and Rahaas. We need to do something, but what?!!

Both engines caught fire. The plane was coming to a halt. It's velocity was nearing zero. If manuvered properly, we could have the plane on the Ganga. The air pressure in the cabin drops very quickly. Oxygen masks fall down on everyone. I wear mine and get up to help others.

Dharmendra says, "I gave some experience flying a plane. We need to get to the cockpit. You three take care of the hijacker."

I say, "Let's go. The faster we reach, the better!"

Charles and Rahaas nod their heads in urgency as they run behind Dharmendra.

When we reach the cabin, we see that there is a man in a formal red suit crouching over something. There are splashing noises as the man in red suit moves his arm. He senses us and stops for a moment. He looks at us. His face is covered by an empty white porcelain mask. This porcelain mask is soaked with fresh blood. He turns around and jumps at us like an ape. I see the bodies of the pilots lying behind throughly stabbed, devoid of any proof that they were once human.

The whole scene makes me want to puke.

He looks at us through small slits in his mask. It is so eerie. He bursts out into maniacal laughter once again.

Dharmendra says, "This guy is a waste of our time. I'll go to the controls and steer this plane to a safe landing. "

There is not much time remaining. The autopilot can only buy is so much time. Dharmendra tries to push his way through, but is stopped by the killer. He pushes Dharmendra back. He told his head and asks in a curious and sarcastic tone, "What's in the controls?"

He turns around and sends a lightning blast through the control panel breaking the hood of the plane within the blink of an eye.

The plane is in full descent right now. The air rushes into us. I am pushed back a force of a 100 raging war elephants. I use this to my advantage and place my feet on the wall seperating the cabin and the cockpit. Dharmendra and Charles do the same. Rahaas is nowhere to be seen.

The killer on the other hand stays firm footed on the same place he stood before. He conjures a fire ball in his hand. He shoots it at me. I summon my bow and fire a fire arrow at it. My arrow is bested by the fireball and it heads right at me. I move aside and it hits the wall. The wall crumples apart.

Wait, a fireball that powerful? How's that possible? Mastering two elements to such a level was unheard of in a player mage. At least, I think that he is a player. Why would an NPC who excelled in magic dress like that?

I would have known if there were players that powerful.

He says, "Surprised are we?!! Hehhe! Let's see what you do as this battle continues! Hahahahahhaaaahaaa!"

His maniacal laughter spooks me out. Hell, everything about him, spooks me out. He says, "One with lightning!"

Charles screams at me, "Do something for the safety of the passengers. We have a mere few seconds remaining! One With Lightning!"

Charles Rams the killer head on and pushes him out. I fire arrows above me. Hopefully arrows of enough power can do the trick. I tell Dharmendra, "Follow my lead!"

I fire the strongest arrows at my disposal. The roof breaks open and the fire passes through it. I fire as many powerful and forceful arrows through it in the time we have. Dharmendra follows my lead and fires his flames of hell into there. Together, the attacks seemsto change the trajectory of the plane. We had around 10 seconds left when Charles went. In five seconds, the trajectory was slanting and we most likely would make a safer landing. We continued to send powerful attacks to the point that at the last moment, we were making a somewhat regular landing. The passengers themselves had lined up near the emergency exits with their floating vests. All seems to be going well, until a large bolt of lightning breaks apart the tail end of the plane making the landing all the more troublesome.

Meanwhile,

Charles's POV,

I told Adi and Dharmendra up take care of the passengers and rushed at the lightning killer. That's what I'm calling him now.

My head on ram is somewhat successful. He kicks me in the chest and in mid air and then throws a lightning bolt at me. Goddamn he's fast. I intercept his bolt with my own. There's a huge blast mid air. I use lightning to stay in air. I hear the lightning killer utter, "One With Water!"

What?! How's that possible? Is he even a player?!

He raises his arm. As he does so, a giant dragon arises from the water. He clinches his hand. The water dragon is enhanced by lightning! This is not good. As he starts his attack, I use my Vajra bolt. I or through the strength stat to reduce the cast speed.

The killer pulls his hand backwards and makes a punching action. The water-lightning dragon goes through him and comes at me. I send my Vajra hurling at it. The dragon deflects the bolt and comes at me!

I don't know what happens to the bolt but I do know that being hit by a water lightning dragon hurts like hell.

After receiving the hit from the dragon, I am tossed around by the killer as though I was some rag doll. One kick to my current sent me hurling to the bank to the Ganga. He landed right beside me. I ask him, "Who are you?"

His porcelain mask shoes for a moment and his eerie eyes glow bright orange. His body lights up in fire. Heays, "I am NavRavan!"

[Mythological Titbits: Last time, the Pandavas left for Kampilya for Drapadi's Swayamwara. They lived in a potter's house in Kampilya until the Swayamwara got over. They claimed that they were Brahmans and went around the city on the pretext of begging and they performed reconnaissance through it. They found out that Drupada believed that the Pandavas were still alive and that Drapadi's Swayamwara was to find out Arjuna. They found out that the Swayamwara was a competition where the suitor had to fire an arrow at a fish that was hanged on the roof, by looking at a pot of water that showed the reflection of the fish.

On the day of the Swayamwara, the Pandavas all were in attendance. Many Kshatriya kings had come to try their luck. One by one, they all tried and failed. Many people missed the mark by a mere few centimeters. Finally, no one was able to achieve the mark.

The entire gathering was silent. Krishna knew that the Pandavas were in attendance. Other than him, his brother Balarama and Bhishma were the only ones who knew that Arjuna was here and who he was.

Finally, Arjuna rose and wanted to try his have at the test. Many kings protested that a Brahmana was allowed to try the test. But Arjuma was allowed to do it as all the kings had failed. Arjuna aced the test set up for him and Drupada had Draupadi married to Arjuna, thought unknowingly, which was his dream for Draupadi.

The Pandavas returned home happily. When they returned home, Kunti was praying to the gods and had closed her eyes. The Pandavas asked her to see what they had received that day. (In India, the bride's father is said to donate his daughter to the bridegroom.)

Kunti just assumed that the Pandavas were talking about regular alms. She told them to share whatever they had received. They asked her to open her eyes once in desperation. She just told them to share whatever they had received and not bother her. The Pandavas who followed each and every word of their mother were bound to her words. Upon hearing this, the reaction of the other Pandavas was that they would all enter Sanyasatva and give up worldly life, so that Arjuna wouldn't have to share his wife. Neither Arjuna nor Draupadi agreed to that and Draupadi ended up marrying all the Pandavas.]
