Chapter 22 - XXII War(3)

Ananth laughs and says, "Let's see who's gonna die and who's gonna live! After all, the bloody azure is the one who is bloodied right now. I am in perfect state! You'll be the one begging me for mercy at my feet as I graciously provide you a swift and painless death!"

Charles says, "Laugh out. This is your last laugh as a free man after all!"

Ananth says, "If I'm going down, I'm going to take you down with me"

Ananth utters, "One with the wind!"

Charles' POV,

Air is an insulator. So is wind. Thus, Ananth has the upper hand against me here. And as an added bonus, there is wind everywhere. Ananth has the ability to move much faster me in this condition. Being one with the wind, he is almost everywhere. He is also invisible. I feel a sharp cut in my shoulder blade. There is another one at my Achilles heel. I need to think of something fast. I can't run, that is not an option. If I become one with lightning, I may be able to outrun him but my health will drop down. You can suppress lightning and electricity by insulating it. Similarly you suppress the wind by confining it. I call upon lightning through my sword. I hear cackling around me, "I can attack you from all sides, you jerk. You are not getting out of this!" What he also witlessly does is send away his fellow soldiers who can help him out come any problems.

I slam it into the ground creating cracks through the terrain. The air is swirling around me. Ananth wants to make full use of his time as the wind. He uses the wind to cut me from all sides. I have one heal ability that I can make use of once a day, but it reduces my Attack Power temporarily by 50% by recovering health to 75% original health.

Ananth is swirling a lot faster and gaining momentum. I am writhing in pain on the inside. Blood is leaving my body with a fast pace, but on the outside, I stand firm footed with my legs in a warrior stance with one in the front and one in the back, on my toes, with my hands in front of my body and holding my sword in a fashion ready to strike. I call upon lightning. My entire body lights up with lightning. Electricity flows through each and every cell of my body. Initially, Ananth's wind overpowers my lightning, but there are sparks that hit the wind. I put more of my strength into it. My body glows blue as bit by bit, my lightning grows stronger and the sparks become more frequent. When the sparks are almost one centimeter in diameter, I activate my ability to absorb health from my enemy and gain extra health. I put all my strength into this until I have barely a quarter of my strength stat remaining. I do all of this instantly. The moment I up the voltage on me, a current is induced between me and the wind and a small scale lightning occurs.

There is only one way for electricity to cross air- to increse the potential difference between your electrodes. In my case, the elements are working to my favor. Ananth is swirling around, creating a good amount of friction between the water particles in the air. This friction causes frequent exchange of electrons in the air. I just need to gain so much electricity around me that the potential difference is enough to cause small scale lightning. The electrons may be leaving me, but in the process, Ananth suffers electrical damage. This is the only way I can ever hurt him is here and I won't let go of this chance to begin the execution of my plan to confine the wind. The swirling air around me receives the lightning and the lightning is in a brilliant circle.

Ananth is hit by the lightning and is thrown backwards. I recovered only 40% of my health but I run to my sword. I take it and turn to where I think Ananth is. I see a silhouette of a man covered with sparks in it to a certain degree. I go near him and place my two swords on the other side of him in a triangle. I then call upon lightning from the sky to aid me. Luckily, the winds Ananth created had all the extra potential with them and they answered my call. I create a dome of lightning going through myself and my two swords. I feel a very strong wind hit my face, but I endure the pain. I endured it before, I'll endure it now. Despite not seeing it, I know that he is panicking.

Normally, air can easily confine electricity and lightning and pass through lightning and electricity with ease. I'll give you an analogy- metal can confine air in it with no problem. Now increase the pressure of the air. Initially, metal can move with ease but as the pressure gets higher and higher, not only can the metallic object not move, the air can even crumble the metal into fine dust. This is no different. Normally, the wind can confine electricity- but electricity of high enough intensity can confine the wind.

Before, when Ananth became one with the wind, he was the predator and I was the prey. But now, the tables have turned! I am the predator and Ananth is my prey! I have absolute power here! I have large lines of electricity flowing between me and my swords where I am the negative elctrode giving away free electrons and my swords the positive terminals sending the electricity into the ground, but since the elctrons are leaving me, the electrons that flow into the ground come to me. After a certain point, there is a complete circuit between me and swords. The high electric output, there are many sparks flying around on the outside making it impossible for any weapon or person to reach me without being fried first. Someone who becomes one with his form will come out of it if he dies. If his health is so low that he will die, the form starts to waver. When I see a brief silhouette of Ananth's face, I open the circuit by lifting my swords and bring them to me through what would have been Ananth's face. Ananth comes out of his form by his discretion and promptly falls onto the ground. He mutters, "What the hell are you?! There's no way that you could have beaten me. Your health was at less than 45% while I was at full health. I was in the form where I was the predator and you the prey. There, before you started your attack, your health was at 14%. Yet, against all odds, you turned the tables against me. You confined an insulator with electricity. What kind of a hellish beast are you?" I tell him, "The nerdy kind!"

[Mythological titbits: The Pandavas and Kauravas were always at their necks after their studies ended. Duryodhana's jealousy of the Pandavas grew to the extent that he had a palace made of lacquer fr the Pandavas to kill them. He had this palace built which was very grand just for the Pandavas. The Pandavas unsuspectingly accepted it as a gift of goodwill. Once they reached it they marveled at it's structural integrity. Sahadeva saw a little bit of the lacquer melting on exposure to the sun rays. The other Pandavas and Kunti who was with them just chalked it off to bad painting. They told Sahadev not to worry as no one would build a house that would melt. Duryodhana's plan was to poison all the Pandavas' food so that they would be in deep sleep and they would not notice when the palace was set on fire. Unfortunately for him, Bhima was very hungry and the others weren't. Bhima ate all the food by himself. Since Bhima was immune to all poisons, the poison didn't affect him at all. After all of them went to sleep, the house was set on fire by one of the servants who was appointed there. That servant made a run for it after setting the palace on fire. When the palace was burning vigorously, the Pandavas woke up from their sleep. They woke up their mother and they found that all the exits from the palace were burning. So Bhima personally punched their way out of the palace, creating a tunnel for them to go through. Eventually, they got out into the forest.

The next day, Bhishma searched the palace for any remains of the Pandavas but was very sad to find that there weren't any remains of them. Those who supported the Pandavas mourned and grieved for them while those who were against the Pandavas, rejoiced in secret. Little did they know that the Pandavas were in fact very alive and that the Pandavas would come back to create an empire bigger than theirs!]
