From Falina P.O.V.
Looking at the cook that serve us the meal I lower my head. I don't dare make eye contact with them. What if they see it as a provocation? Quite frankly I feel like I'm shaking in my own boots.
A hand falls on my shoulder again making me look up toward Damien as he smiles down at me. I don't know why but it calms my inner fox to know that he's looking out for us.
Looking at my plate I can see that the cook didn't put much in it. Well, I suppose it's enough, after all, I not tall and general I don't eat till I'm full.
Damien eyes the plate as if he wants to say something; -he then takes it from me and with his long-reaching arms, he grabs the scoop and places another serving of mash potatoes and meat with sauce.
The cook eyes him but doesn't say a peep. Seeing my plate now, there's a bit too much but seems like today guess what!? I won't be starving! Wich is a pleasant thing!
Damien grabs his own plate which looks like a white mountain of mash, sauce and meat. It's so full it threatens to fall off!
Walking to his seat he guides me again with his hand placed on my back gently a slight pressure of his hand when we need to turn as we walk to a far corner that's a little quieter.
There I see the Alpha again with the Beta. Never mind one plate those guys are already on their second servings.
I look to where I'm supposed to sit, and as if to answer my unspoken question the Beta scoots over making me sit between him, the alpha and across the Gamma Damien.
Placing my plate on the table I kept my head down and quietly ate my meal. Trying to be as unnoticed as possible. But those three obviously did not plan on letting me be.
"So sugar puff what do we call you? I am Jellald and the grumpy one there known as for our alpha is name is alpha Davy, in front is Damien but knowing him he already got your name." His silver-grey eyes shined with playfulness. They look relaxed and lazy, as non-threatening as possible.
"Falina". I said softly making a meek smile back. While they looked none aggressive the air about them was still quite suffocating for me, after all, fox and wolves are natural enemies the latter killing the first as prey.
The fox instinct told me to flee them, but seeing them on their human side made them more bearable and my need to flee lessened.
The alpha Davy seemed to study me quietly as I tried my best not to make eye contact with him but it still happened a few times. I could swear, I had seen him grin evilly and smugly at each and every time our eyes met.
Seriously, I couldn't wait for this awkward meal to be over. Not only because I felt scared shitless of them. I liked my peace and quiet and wolves well, aren't so quiet. In fact, they are quite rowdy two tables down a fight broke up between same ranking pack member.
Snarls, growls and yelps of pain the two shifted into their wolves as the fight heated.
Jellald and Davy took off to break the fight.
One growl low and dangerous growl was all that it took. Snapping the two rowdy wolves back to reality. The two immediately submitting tails between their legs at the face of the alpha, that let's be real, he was beyond pissed.
"What the hell are you two doing?" He asked in that domineering alpha voice.
The two were now shaking inside their own boots.
No one wants to face the wrath of an alpha; -it's just that scary.
Silently I observed them retreating to a corner. I mean don't get me wrong I know I am a coward. To top it off the pressure he gave off was just this bad. It's like standing where an immense building toppling over you. I can't even imagine what they could feel as they were the object of his wrath.
Once they seemed to have calmed down I felt a hand fall and ruffle my hair. Looking up it wondering who was rubbing my head like some scared little kid. Ok, I admit I was scared! I see Damien smiling at me.
"Hey, no need to fret over this we are sorry you had to see this. Normally they are quite behaving." He made an apologetic smile looking a little awkwardly at the others.
I couldn't help but make a small smile at them, as they looked back at me. They all looked so silly right, now the oppressing aura had been gone and nowhere to be seen.
I couldn't help but giggle as I looked at them making all those silly awkward faces, my fears had melted like snow in the desert sun. No, where to be found again. I could even see their inner wolves wagging their tail with tongue hanging out playfully now.
I stood up and dusted off as I now grinned at them thinking that maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
Davy cleared his throat speaking in a neutral tone. "Well now, how about we bring you on a little tour?"
I looked at them a little baffled I didn't expect them to allow me to roam around the house or outside, well still inside the territory, but even so, it was truly unexpected.
I looked between them as if I was afraid that I had mist heard it. Seeing them smile and nod to confirm what it had heard filled my heart with joy. I liked exploring new places while it never was safe to do so, this time it was safe to say it would be.
The people, of course, looked at me with curiosity, after all, I was no wolf they could not understand what I was doing on their turf.
I paid them no mind as I trotted just a little behind Davy and in front of both Damien and Jellald.
I thought about how I normally liked to be left to my own doing but at this moment there was nowhere else I would have rather have been. Maybe I to could have a group of friends.
I liked those silly wolves, I couldn't help but smile at my own thoughts.
