Synopsis
A mysterious incident occurred on a otherwise normal science centered world where all of the children from the age range of eight to sixteen suddenly vanished. “Where have their kids gone and will they ever return?” The now childless parents never got to really ask that question, because a strange new element replaced their lost children. This element slowly mutated the various animals that they once ruled over with their technology to the point that they were immune to their modern weaponry. The barren land of savages on a continent far away from theirs also had their children taken, but they easily mutated just like the beasts and only grew stronger thanks to the incident. A revolution of animals eventually took place after the mutations started to cause the animals to understand just how badly the humans ruined their lives and planet. Humans were the slowest to figure out how to use this strange new element to evolve, while their opponents were evolving and growing stronger by the day they couldn’t even surpass their modern technology. When humanity was on the brink of extinction a long forgotten event finally ended and their children finally started to return from the various worlds they were summoned to! It turns out that the mysterious new element that they didn’t know what to call was mana and that it’s everywhere in some fantasy planets. The children brought back a increase in technology and techniques to grow stronger with, which caused the humans to finally be able to build safe havens for their race. They grew stronger and started to finally adapt to their brand new environment. This is the story of a orphan who was taken away from his world, before he could gain a sense of attachment to the world. Who only has his older sister to care about and how he ends up adapting to the new world in front of him. ------------------ Dog notes by Doggo First 'five' chapters aren't what the story is really about and is more of a prologue. The reason why some are separated into parts is because Doggo originally posted them as a entire chapter. The main setting is Ghost's actual world and not any foreign world. So this story was already posted once to another site three years ago… and Dog is finally ending that three year hiatus! It was written in the first point of view, but Dog ended up having to change that all to third person because Dog read a first person novel which made Dog realize how bad Dog was at writing in first person. The explanation on why Dog was on a three year hiatus is written in the review section. The update schedule is a chapter a week till Dog get a editor and then two chapters a week till Dog gets enough money to pay for Dog’s bills. The final goal is to release a chapter every other day. Dog writes 4k word chapters so they are about twice as long as some of the other authors so every other day is actually more like once a day. Also the subject audience is male cause Dog had to pick one. In all honesty Dog hopes that both genders would like to read Dog's works. This one is definitely leaning a bit more on the male side of the audience spectrum tho.

Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 Temporary home

Dog notes: Dog is sorry for not posting for 3 years and will hereby pledge that Dog has an entire arc worth of chapters from when Dog was away. You will the very least get double the amount of current chapters if you remember the novel before Dog left.

Dog has a full explanation in the bottom half of the new synopsis of the novel and doesn't want to take away from dogs novel to much. The update schedule will be one chapter a week till dog gets an editor. Then it will be two chapters a week until my patreon goals are met. More info about this on dogs patreon site.

Finally, if you see any first-person writing that Dog somehow missed please tell your friendly Doggo to fix it also if you see anything in italics.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a deserted area of an otherwise energetic and sleepless city. Where the darker side of a bright city shows its ugly face. There is a dark and gloomy building that looks like it has been abandoned for decades. The area around the building is filled with half complete buildings, broken down construction equipment and either dying or even dead life.

Not even weeds seem to want to grow here. Outside of the abandoned building, a small, boney child with azure blue hair, and blood-red eyes waits for his sister to finish her underpaid job.

"How was work, sister?"

A small weak and almost dead looking girl, who can't be older than thirteen, exits the haunted-looking building. She has short uneven messy blonde hair, which reaches barely to her neck, with bangs falling down into her eyes. "Even tougher than usual, my cute little brother."

She replies while swiping the strands of her tarnished golden hair out of her hazel eyes. Her eyes are filled with strong and overflowing happiness despite her surroundings.

"Well, at least we can finally return home and get to eat like you promised, right?" He begs her wanting more to eat then caring about the dangerous area he is in.

A radiant smile appears on her face, followed with the joyful words. "Of course, it's your birthday how could we not celebrate with something special? You're even ten now. I wonder if the next moment I see you, you will already be taller than me and all grown up!"

She shows him a bag and shoves it in front of the young boy's nose, who then opens it and takes in a deep whiff.

The young boy looks up to the sky and his face changing from bliss to worry. "Sister, what is that bright light?" He asks his older sister, motioning towards the sky.

His sister then looks up at where her brother is pointing and back to him with worry. "I don't kno—"

That is all the elder sister managed to say before a bright light engulfs both of them. A split can be heard as the bag of food hits the floor. The only thing left to testify to the siblings' existence.

The light suddenly transfers the poor orphan into a pitch black place and the feeling of weightlessness starts to overtake his senses. Judging by the lack of any sensation, the only thing he can think of calling this strange place is the void.

Suddenly, the feeling akin to a roller coaster at lightspeed through a loop de loop, courses through his body as he nearly pukes on the marble white floor which pops into existence underneath him.

The first thing that appears inside of his mind is wondering about where he has found himself transported to.

He slowly gets up and starts to look around to see his one and only relative, Jana.

The place that he's suddenly now looking at is a huge throne room, one who would only expect to see if they were visiting a king from some distant outdated country that you'd occasionally hear about from the blimps.

Beneath them is a weird circle that doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the room, as if it was forced into it and doesn't belong there.

In front of them is a giant chair made out of what might be gold with an assortment of gems making it seem like the most dazzling thing in the room.

Sitting on it is a bulky man wearing a crown with colorful jewels encrusted into it. He is clothed in colorful furs from mysterious creatures. A sword is hung below his waist inside a jeweled sheath. The sheath looks fragile enough to break if he accidentally drops it once suggesting it isn't used for actual combat

His body is tall and built like an ox. A long scar runs across the left side of his face while his arms seem to be riddled with many more, which must be his trophies from battle.

His eyes are a deep brown and his hair is orange like the setting sun with some portions turning gray. His appearance is that of a terrifying warlord, which instills fear into the hearts of beholders, even in death, or at least in Ghost's case it does.

The king-like man doesn't appear to even notice Ghost. His attention lies with Jana, the gaze is dubious. The brown, almost black, eyes don't know what they should portray. It is almost like he is spending all of his willpower to hide something hidden deep within.

"Welcome, Hero!" The man says to Ghost's sister, emphasizing on the word 'hero' and completely ignoring the much smaller other children.

"You were brought here to save this poor world from an evil and monstrous group of races, that we call the 'Unknown'!" The king-like man says with disgust in his voice when mentioning the 'Unknown.'

"Can you stop ignoring me!? I'm here too you know!?" Ghost decides to speak out against the imposing king for ignoring him even though it probably isn't the best thing to do in this situation.

"Please, your majesty, do forgive my idiot of a brother." His sister immediately drops to one knee and forces me down with her.

"Rise. What is one small child's outburst to a king like myself?" He says arrogantly while raising his hands as if forcing them to rise.

"Thank you, benevolent king. What do you mean by we were brought here? Also, where is this place?"

Thanks to years of sucking up to grown up to keep her various jobs Jana manages to say the right things and calm down the king.

They both stand back up at the same time while Jana lets out a sigh of relief and then secretly starts to lecture her younger brother who doesn't have any eq.

"Shut up, Ghost! We have no idea who he is or where we are. You should treat him kindly, idiot. You are lucky! He could have just ordered our heads to be chopped off!"

The king places his hand on his cheek and his elbow on the armrest of the throne, "You are not on the same world you were original. You are on another planet, my dear, and I am the ruler of this whole world."

The arrogant king goes from speaking gently to them to sounding as if he was talking about pure evil as he begins talking about these unknown.

"The unknown wish to take away my world from me! They just appeared out of nowhere and said that this planet wasn't mine and tried to take it from me."

He points at Jana says, "you are the hero that has been summoned to this world to save it. After you have saved it, then you may go back if you wish. That is your destiny. But, as for you..." He looks at Ghost with eyes filled with disgust.

"You were probably too close to our future savior and got dragged along. I mean, you look weak, and you're so small. There is no way you can fight against the creatures of this world, much less the unknown." The king looks at him as if he's just a pile of trash. "You're all skin and bones, what can you do?"

"Your sister, on the other hand, looks like she has the potential," He says while praising her for no apparent reason. His sister may work to feed them, but that doesn't mean that she's that much healthier than Ghost.

He would work as well, but she won't let him and instead says things like that he's too young and shouldn't be working.

He instead ended up doing various odd jobs behind her back because they really do need the food, but nothing that would make it seem obvious that he's actually still working. If she found out, she would kill him for sure.

The king then suddenly stands up and appears in front of him and starts to unnaturally stare into his eyes. "Now then, weakling, I'm going to bring you to a nice old lady who will take care of you while your sister is off saving our world. There is no need for you to hear the rest of the conversation it won't be very important to you. Seeing how you probably won't be leaving my grand city."

He picks him up by the collar of his shirt and forces him away from the castle towards a small hut that you can't really call a house.

The hut is surrounded by tall decrepit menacing trees. The soil around the hut looks as though it was gray and dying. The windows are cracked or shattered, with pieces of wood covering them. The roof was frayed and peeling

The interior of the hut is a complete mess, littered with old books. The whole floor is literally covered in a carpet of books. The books are everywhere!

You can almost see the despair on Ghost's face as he's brought to his new home. He is probably thinking about how he won't be able to get a good meal and a nice bed to sleep in this new home.

The king then forces him into the shabby hut through the broken down door barely serving its purpose and then points to an old lady who looks like she has been through better years. She has wrinkles where wrinkles shouldn't be and had grayish-white hair.

"That's Liz. She will be taking care of you until your sister is done saving our world. Treat her kindly like you would your own grandma. Got it?" He nods his head as It's all he can do when this terrifying man orders him to do something.

-So, this is how I start my new life; living in a small hut with a stranger. No! I will prove that stupid king wrong and become stronger than anyone else, including my sister! I will be the hero like those books that I read!- Ghost can't help but think as his new life slowly starts to begin in this small dainty hut.
