Chapter 5 - Chapter 5 - Linda and lunch

Linda did really enjoy seeing the Tabletop Dungeon. She couldn't wait for her own to arrive, but it would be 2 days. She didn't feel ignored even though Setsu was constantly working on her surface level, because she also knew this would be the most important to get a head start, and Lily ended up playing around with her while Setsu was busy.

Now they had time though, and they left the room to find her parents setting up the table for lunch. They noticed they had already spent 4 hours working on the dungeon and were quite surprised the time flew by so fast.

They were also a little hungry so they decided to join the table and eat.

"Are you two having fun? I see you have been busy." Setsu's mother asked.

"Yeah, it's difficult, reconsidering if you are making the right choice constantly, because there's so much to choose from. I just started with the basics for now, going for rabbits, bears, wolves and I added a few monkeys and fish because I think they could do good."

"Oh? Well it's good that you chose something like this for now. If you chose something like wisps or wraiths for instance, it would take ages to make progress because they don't really reproduce like other animals do."

"Yeah, I hope to gain some points before I get back though, because I spent them all already..."

"Oh, well that's fast! Did you already finish off?"

"Yes I'm finished with my part, although I left the plants to Lily. She would know the system better, so I don't think I need to worry."

"You're right, she'll be fine."

"Mrs. Young, do you think you would have done anything different?"

"Hmm.. Well, maybe I would have added slimes or maybe predatory or small birds. And you don't have insects or cold blooded animals yet either. But, you are limited in choice because you're short on points so it's a great start."

"Hmm, I understand most of them, but why slimes? I thought those would be Dungeon monsters." Linda asked.

"Slimes split into more slimes, and don't get killed easily. They also don't just kill everything and they are kind of like cleaners, which a dungeon doesn't need because it absorbs all material for mana."

"Oh! That sounds different from all those tv shows and books, where slimes can absorb Dragons and fight with magic and stuff!"

"Well, they are the most adaptable animals, with great potential. The only thing they are missing is the intelligence to actually do those things."

"Oh... Well it's fine right? You work with what you get!"

"You're right Linda. That's a good mindset to have."

They spoke a little more during lunch, and had a little fun watching a bit of tv, eating a small snack.

They took about 2 hours to get back, and were ready to check on the progress made on the surface.

They came back, and Lily flew over to them, she was hindered by the sphere of the table, she could leave that area, though only slightly.

"Hi, welcome back! Lily has finished with the plants, do you want to go back to real time or keep going on the faster time?"

"Turn it back for now. I want to see the progress. Can you open the status screen, Lily?"

There wasn't really any progress yet, though a few things stood out. 2 Wolves had died, to the bears. It was a sad loss, but two pairs of wolves had cubs, with 3 in each family, which was good news.

Next, a lot of rabbits had been born, together with the plants. Some of the rabbits got eaten same with the Health and Stamina herbs, but this was expected. The rabbits were spawning and also reproducing so there were more than expected, even if some died.

The plants grew well, and seemed to cover plenty of ground. She was interested in some of them since she didn't understand them fully yet, but she had time now to figure it all out.

Now, it was time to figure out all the changes that happened in the 2 hours she was away.
