Chapter 12 - 12. This Blood Is Special

"Tsk." Bridget sucked her teeth. "She ran away."

"More importantly what was that power?" Roxas was watching what unfolded from the sideline said before walking over to Austin's body. Her eyes were reddened. "Hm?"

She looked to Bridget, then Cereza, finally to Schera and Eleanor.

They all looked at her with questioning gazes. Bridget got impatient and asked first. "What?"

She stared at Cereza as if she was peering into her depths. Did the same to Schera and Eleanor. "We should get them patched up and then we can talk.

Bridget observed the condition of the two ladies before sighing and collecting them. "The boy is yours lil' sis."

"Right. My clubhouse is just over there we can go there." Cereza responded scooping Austin off the ground.

Inside the clubhouse. Cereza, Bridget, and Roxas were feeding artificial blood to both Schera and Eleanor to help their healing process. It wasn't working as well as they hoped.

"Interesting. This artificial blood should be nearly indistinguishable from the blood of an imprint in terms of nourishment. They should be healing at a faster rate." Roxas pointed out this strange phenomena.

"But why aren't they?" Cereza asked concerned.

"I have two theories. One, that strange power that woman used. It sent chills down my spine and something told me it was dangerous."

"You're right." Bridget jumped in the conversation. "Every fiber in my body told me told me not to touch it."

Roxas nodded then continued. "It could be whatever it was is preventing our natural regeneration."

"Hunters seem to be getting more and more resourceful." Bridget frowned as she looked at her disciple as she squirmed in pain.

Cereza cut through the silence. "What can we do?"

"Tsk. Maybe we should let 'em feed from us." Bridget answered.

"That brings me to my second theory. This blood isn't good enough for them."

Bridget chuckled. "I know you are proud of the work you did on developing the artificial blood but it was never going to be able to compete with a real source."

"I misspoke. I mean any blood wouldn't be good enough for them. Any blood except..." She paused and pointed at Austin. "...His."

Cereza's shock betrayed her as she blurted out. "That's impossible. If we gave them Austin's blood they'd die."

"From what I can tell they already have had it." The ladies looked at Roxas confused. "Did you not smell his blood all over their breaths earlier?"

Bridget thought back. "I think I did smell blood. I wasn't paying attention back then to where it was coming from."

"And what about now do you still smell it?"

Bridget sniffed the air. "Ahh. I do. Faintly. And it's comin' from..." Her head trailed over to where Austin was.

"Precisely. Now do you notice anything odd about this blood?"

Bridget sniffed again. "No. Nothing stands out. Just smells like really tasty blood ta' me." Bridget rubbed her hand through her hair

"Exactly."

Bridget's eyes widened as clarity hit her. She turned to Cereza frantically. "This is your imprint right? No mistakes?"

"Of course. How would I mistake the smell of my own..." Then she realized something turning to Roxas. "No that can't be right? Its impossible for it to smell the same to you."

"Look at everyone's eyes. Ever since we got into breathing distance of this scent our eyes have been stuck like this."

Cereza noticed that every vampyre in attendance had eyes as scarlet as blood. Roxas and Bridget. Schera and Eleanor. Hers too were probably red. But that was normal she could smell the blood of her imprint and it made her so hungry. But why are they also showing the same hunger?

"I speculate this boys blood is something special. It might save these two if that theory is correct."

"But how can it be that an imprint can be shared?"

"That's what I intended to uncover. Something like this should be impossible but I've never smelled anything like this. Ever."

Austin grumbled and sat up. His head was pounding like his brain cells were playing bumper cars up there. Cereza rushed to Austin.

"Austin are you alright? You aren't hurt anywhere? What is going? And...and Schera and Eleanor..."

Austin jumped up. He had vague flashes of their fight. He looked to the mess that was Schera and Eleanor. "My god. What do we do?"

"I theorize that if they drink your blood..." Roxas started to say something.

Austin lit up. "Right my blood!" He raced over to the two dying girls and extended an arm to each of them.

"Wait! Austin you can't if they drink the blood of another's imprint..." Now it was Cereza's turn to be cut off.

"Don't worry. I've already imprinted with them both."

"Wait. imprint with multiple vampyres?" Bridget questioned.

"I figured it was something like that. But the how still escapes me." Roxas added.

Austin winced. Both Eleanor and Schera's fangs burrowed into his arms. The moment his blood spilled free all talk ceased. Cereza, Roxas, and Bridget quivered in unison. 'What the hell? Why is it so strong and smelled this good?' they all couldn't help but wonder.

Life started coming back to the two half dead girls as they gradually feed faster and greedier. like before the two soaked themselves though no one seemed to notice but Austin who resisted carnal desires. Even though they lost to lust on the inside the two girls weren't physically capable of even attempting to act on it at the moment.

The frost bite and burns quickly healed and even their obliterated appendages were growing back. The pain from it all subsided and the two slowed down their eating. They would be fine but their consciousness was fading and they were slipping into a deep slumber.

Austin flopped down on is butt after both Eleanor and Schera dozed off.

"That was a most informative display." Roxas coughed.

Bridget shook herself out of a daze. "Informative how?"

"They didn't die. In fact his blood kicked their healing into overdrive. but beyond that..." Roxas' red eyes began to shimmer with a gold overlay. "Their power just grew at an unprecedented rate. Even if one was to undergo a successful imprint with a dozen...no two dozen imprints...the rate they just grew still outpaces it."

"His blood completely breaks everything we've known for millennia."

"Oh?" Bridget chuckled. "I knew you had something special on your hands."

"I'll need samples of your blood to find out more."

Cereza walked forward and without hesitation, grabbed Austin's arm and disappeared with insane speed. No way was anyone else getting his blood before she was. She was dying of thirst since before she left the el Bernard estate.

"Wait where she going I need his blood." Roxas stretched a hand to the now gone specimen.

"Well you did just ask for his blood after those two just had their fill. What did you expect?"

"It was for research not to eat."

"Put herself in her shoes. What she thought was just for her, now belongs to two others right under her nose...and who knows..." Bridget cuffed her chin and smiled. "...There may be room for even more."
