Chapter 34 - Hunter's Paradise

Fei Lei almost fell over when she said heard the word, Reincarnator.

Yan Mei nodded her head before going into a lengthy explanation, "They say that some Mages who manage to reach the Prime Magus Stages can attempt to reach a higher stage, but they are stricken with some kind of worldly tribulation."

"Wordly Tribulation?" Fei Lei quested with a confused expression.

"It's said that powerful storm clouds will quickly engulf the skies before lightning descends on those that attempt to cross the boundary of the Prime Magus Ranking." Yan Mei said while acting in a teacherly manner.

Fei Lei was blown away by the information, thinking back to what Mythos said about his father's godhood, Fei Lei pondered out loud, "God-Level, maybe?"

"That's what many Mages think, why else would they be crazy enough to risk their eternal lifespans?" Hina replied while grinning and excitement glowing in her eyes.

"That's right! Those that fail the tribulation, usually die, however, something happens to the souls that undergo these tribulations. Sometimes, they are able to be reborn. There are also some people assume that there are others who could have been reincarnated from other worlds and were brought here by gods, but those are just rumors and silly superstitions," Yan Mei explained.

Hina nodded her head and proudly declared, "Yep, it's the goal of everyone that is serious about cultivating!"

"Do you want to attempt to reach this stage Hina?" Yan Mei asked with a bit of worry in her tone.

Hina smiled and patted Yan Mei on the head before she said, "Teacher said that the God Realm is real. He told me that there were legends of such beings capable of destroying and creating entire planets. The legend I'm most interested in; is the one that states that the Gods could even revive the dead."

Fei Lei's heart thumped, he thought of his parents, and gipped his hands in anticipation before thinking, "Could I really bring someone back from the dead?"

With hope filling his heart, Fei Lei then gritted his teeth, "I think I'm strong enough to wipe out those bandits now. I should visit my old home someday."

Yan Mei though back to Hina's story and gave her a hug, "I'll do everything I can to support you."

"Then let me marry Fei Lei!" Hina said enjoying Yan Mei's kindness.

Fei Lei, hearing Hina start up again, thought that now was the perfect time to escape, heading into the bustling building, Fei Lei missed out on hearing Yan Mei whisper, "Not yet." into Hina's ears.

Hina smiled and said, "You mean it?"

Yan Mei sighed, "I'd rather have someone like you there to support him, just like you always have. Not to mention, it will be hard to keep the rest of those hussies from tricking or resorting to cheap tricks. You have no idea what lengths those kinds of Noblewomen use to secure men."

Yan Mei was referring to the common tactic of drugging men with an aphrodisiac to secure a sire.

"I heard stories about that, but I always thought that was just gossip. Do nobles actually do that sort of thing?" Hina asked frowning.

Yan Mei sighed, they started to walk into the store when Yan Mei said, "My aunty and daddy were both victims of such a noble's plot."

Hina looked shocked and said, "Wait, are you telling me that, that Royal Family, schemed against the Huo Clan?"

Yan Mei nodded her head as she continued, "Yeah, but Aunty didn't want to hurt daddy, so she disowned her Clan Name and chose to join the Yan Clan. She swore off all contact her previous family to prove her love was real."

As they entered the store they saw Fei Lei staring at the goods that were displayed behind several barred displays, the rooms were spacious, well decorated, and covered with many magical items.

Apparels such as magic robes and armor were placed on wooden manikins, and behind the counters, were magical weapons ranging from swords to gun-like wands.

Fei Lei stopped looking around when he said, "Do you have any Spells for sale? Oh, and I'll need a tailor to make some armor for me, and books, anything with information pertaining to alchemy or enchantment."

The clerk, who was a youthful fellow in his twenties with short black hair and black eyes, smiled and rubbed his hands together as he thought, "Looks like I got a big spender!"

He then stepped up to the counter and said, "Yes, dear customer. We have spells matrixes and an enchantment specialist that can take your order if you are looking for something to be custom made. However, books on Enchantment or Alchemy are almost non-existent, we have the basic starter guides, and if you want more, you would have to take the standard test at one of their schools or places of business."

Fei Lei nodded his head, "I'll take the starter books, and what about the spells?"

The clerk rubbed his hands together as he said, "They're on the second floor, and you should know that we only have catalogs for certain spells. You would have to purchase the spell first, only then will the creator who wishes to sell the spell, send us a copy."

"What's on the 3rd floor?" Fei Lei asked with an honest smile.

The clerk smiled back and rubbed his hands together before he answered, "That's a special floor for elite members only."

"How do I get in?" Fei Lei asked.

"By purchasing up to 10 Million Gold Bills of our merchandise, you can earn a Hunter's Paradise Membership Card."

Fei Lei smiled, pulled out a pile of leather he stripped from the Tyrant Beast and the Hippo Rhinos, and then pointed to his current outfit while saying, "Can you make me a treasured armor with this, and in this style?"

The clerk nodded his head and called over some people to take his measurements.

Fei Lei then pointed to Hina and Yan Mei and said, "Some for them too?"

The clerk nodded his head again and started to take down on how they wanted the armor to be designed.

After taking their orders, the three of them were handed a large portfolio full of names of brand name enchanters.

"Please select an Enchanter to place your order," The clerk showed a bit of his greed as he pointed out several names that cost around 40 and 50 million for Single Enchantment.

Fei Lei looked through the names and saw that there were several-hundreds to search through, all with expensive prices. Fei Lei paused when he ended up at a page that had a ridiculous cost of 300 million for his commission a piece.

The upside was there was no limit to how many Enchantments one could designate.

"Jack Tuner?" Fei Lei lifted his brow as he pulled out his Clear Mist Treasure and smiled.

Fei Lei then pulled out 300 2-Star Cores before he handed them over along with his Heavy Blade and Bo-Staff.

"I want him to make my armor and weapons. Ask him if he can make it like these." Fei Lei presented his weapons.

The clerk had his men take Fei Lei's weapons while the Clerk himself took his money before saying, "Are you sure you wish to hire J. Tuner? Although he is indeed talented, if your commission doesn't catch his eye, he often ignores what the wishes of those that are paying, and does his own thing, making whatever he wants."

Fei Lei grinned with interest before he said, "An innovator or trouble maker, either way, is fine with me. I'll be paying him a visit after I'm done here anyway."

"I see, well then what about the enchantments?" The Clerk asked.

"I don't care about the magical effects, just make them as durable as possible. If you could, a regenerative effect for the clothing would be nice."

Fei Lei clapped his hands together and asked, "Now, about that membership card?"

The clerk pulled out a blank golden magic card that was similar to the Guild's ID, and said, "Do you have your Guild Identification card?"

"Yes, right here." Fei Lei answered as he pulled the card out of his spatial ring.

"Good, all you have to do is touch the cards together and you'll become a registered member of Hunter's Paradise. If you didn't have one then we will need just to take down your basic information."

When his Guild ID and the Membership card touched, Fei Lei watched as the golden card was imprinted by his basic information, Age, Name, Birthdate, and card registration date.

Fei Lei traded over the money for the books and thought, "With this, I can get some kind of education for general magic. Yan Mei's teachings are pretty informed, but I can't help but feel that I'm missing something."

After thanking the clerk, Fei Lei saw Yan Mei and Hina still browsing around, before he asked, "You girls not done yet?"

"Never interrupt a girl when she shopping!" Yan Mei hissed out.

"Yeah, Fei Lei, I thought you knew better!" Hina joined in.

"Well, I know now!" Fei Lei shot back as he waited for the girls to put in their orders.

When they finished, they headed upstairs and entered into another spacious room. The merchandise on this floor was mostly materials from magical beasts.

However, Fei Lei didn't spot anything above a 5-Star ranking.

As he walked over to a large bookshelf that had spell names with descriptions written on placks.

"Fire Type Spell Matrix. Level 0 Spell, Fire Ball. Spell Matrix owner, Darik Chestman. Price, Ten One-Star Fire Cores."

As Fei Lei continued to browse around, he found that there were a few hundred spells to choose from.

He looked over to the Non-Elemental section and didn't see anything that his Teacher didn't already own.

Letting out a sigh, Fei Lei realized that their spells didn't have anything higher than a Level 3 spell, and most of them seemed rather dull.

"You won't find many good spells in shops, to learn the best spells you'd have to join a school or join a famous noble family," Hina said shaking her head.

"Most of the spells here you can find in any school; they're all commonly known spells," Yan Mei followed up.

Fei Lei nodded his head and said, "I'll take them all!"

The shopkeeper almost fell over, "It would cost 30,000 1-Star Cores to do that sir!"

Fei Lei threw out three thousand 2-Star Cores and made the shopkeep drool.

As the shopkeep took the money, he immediately sent out the request for copies.

"Are you sure you want to do that?" Yan Mei asked.

"Well, if the schools have them, I should have them as well. Building up a kingdom isn't easy work," Fei Lei answered.

"I see what you're getting at. I wouldn't hurt to own them, and you can use them for reference," Hina followed up.

Fei Lei nodded his head in affirmation as he continued to look around at some of the treasures that were behind the glass cases.

Fei Lei noticed that each of the items was protected by a powerful defensive spell matrix, he didn't know what it would do, but the mana coming off of them showed they had to be enchanted by a Warlock at the least.

While he walked around the room, Fei Lei stopped as he stared at a strange rock that was sitting on top of a pillow.

"Ahh, I see you found the mystery item," The clerk said with a greedy expression.

Fei Lei's brow furrowed, "Mystery Item?"

"Yes, that particular item was an Item Drop from a High Tier Dungeon. Most of the time, the items that are found are suitable for the ones who dealt the killing blow. However, the only rule that this doesn't seem to apply for, is if the Dungeon Boss is the one who drops an item. No one has been able to figure out what this does, and it has been bouncing around the different branches of the Hunter's Paradise Shop for decades."

"Interesting, so I was right, but why didn't any Non-Elemental Cores drop during the raid? Maybe somethings off with dungeon making magic-circle? Augh, I don't know enough." Fei Lei thought while his eyes drifted to the price tag.

Seeing it, Fei Lei's eyes widened as he shouted, "Fifty 4-Star Cores of every element."

Fei Lei shook his head in disappointment and was about to leave when he heard Mythos say, "Master, buy that!"

"Fei Lei frowned as he responded internally, "How many times do I have to ask you? Would you please, just call me Fei Lei?!"

"Master Fei Lei, please buy that item!" Mythos responded.

Fei Lei slapped his head and thought, "Fine, but why?"

"If Master Fei Lei uses that to repair the cog, you can fix a section of your lab," Mythos answered.

"Wait, I thought my lab was scrapped?" Fei Lei questioned.

"Only the Dimensional Studies Lab was scrapped, everything else was stored inside our subspace. Unfortunately, when we crashed into the River of Souls, the labs were scattered across the universe. They must have been drawn to your soul signature and crashed here because of the return protocol installed in them."

Fei Lei thought back to the serial number that was on the cog. I wasn't until Mythos informed him what the numbers and letters meant, that he realized the Roman Numeral was actually part of his lab.

LS-SC010/100-PSD-1.

Lab Section, Storage Compartment 010 out of a hundred, pocket space designation 1.

Fei Lei clicked his teeth, "But, that item looked several hundred years old, how can it be my lab?!"

Mythos then began explaining, "It appears that time held no meaning in the boundaries of life and death. In that space, one could reincarnate years into the future or years into the past. They simply followed you here through the pocket space in which they exist. Some could have appeared thousands of years ago, while there could also still be some that haven't arrived yet."

Fei Lei nodded his head with a vague understanding and said, "You're talking about quantum tunneling, right? I haven't gotten to that section of his memories yet, I'm still learning about engineering."

The shopkeep looked at Fei Lei's awkward appearance and assumed that he was struggling with whether or not to buy the mystery item.

"I'll take it." Fei Lei begrudgingly brought out 50 of each core.

Fei Lei had barely managed to get around 125 of each during the solo raid on the dungeon he went on after undergoing his second compression.

These were good resources that could nourish his future citizens, but Fei Lei knew he had to listen to Mythos. The materials he could gain from opening up his lab were too good to pass up.

The shopkeep smiled and took the Mana Cores as he said, "You are a big spender! I was going to tell you that you could rent it out, but since you're paying full price!"

In the end, Fei Lei didn't really feel ripped off, if this piece of equipment could really allow him to access one of the storage sections of his lab, he wouldn't hesitate.

Fei Lei quickly skimmed through the Professor's memories and discovered that this was one of the tenth total storage compartment space, out of 100. Meaning that this one section was nine times bigger than it currently was.

Isaac would put outdated tech, prototypes, failed projects, and any luxury items he liked in these pocket spaces.

Fei Lei also knew that he ordered his storage spaces in chronological order, with the subspaces 1 through 10, Fei Lei now owned technology from the first ten generations Isaac spent outside of his Suspended Animation.

Fei Lei smiled and placed the item in his spatial ring before saying, "Now let's see that third floor!"

Both Yan Mei and Hina didn't really bother with any of the items on the second floor, and they weren't that impressed by the spells either.

As they rejoined Fei Lei, Yan Mei said, "I think we should go to an auction house someday, you see some really rare stuff there."

Hina smiled and shouted out, "Count me in, I have enough money in my bank, and it's burning a hole in my pocket!"

Fei Lei laughed before saying, "And here I thought you were a pour villager like me!"

"Says the guy holding onto thousands of Mana Cores!" Hina countered.

When they reached the third floor, they all saw many items ranging from mortal rankings to heavenly.

There were high ranking spell matrixes that could be ranged from levels 3 to 7th level spells. There were also many different magical herbs and materials that all cost a fortune.

Fei Lei was impressed with the level of products as he looked through them. Regrettably, he preferred the weapons he was used to, so nothing in the armor or weapon cases really caught his eyes.

Yan Mei ended up buying a Flawless Heavenly Ranked Magic Bow, replacing the earthy bow that Fei Lei bought her earlier.

Hina shook her head because she didn't find anything that she liked either, she mostly browsed through the different spells.

Fei Lei was busy staring at the potions and said, "Give me three Level-4 Healing Potions, four Level-4 Mana Recovery Potions, and two Level-5 Stamina Potions."

Fei Lei pulled out the 5-Star Earth Core that he got from the six-armed ape to pay for the Stamina Potion, and then the additional Mana Cores that were equal to the levels of the remaining potions.

Once each of them received a customer order slip as well as the weapons or apparel they had given to the shopkeepers to sketch up blueprints, they left the Hunter's Paradise.

Fei Lei's group then headed over to Galleria's Enchantment Guild, since Fei Lei wanted to meet the man who could make a treasure able to channel Psionic Forces, so he decided to meet with him personally.

"Jack Tuner. I wonder what kind of person you are?" Fei Lei pondered as they walked through the streets.
