After walking through the crowded streets, the trio ended up in front of a large 10 story building made of brownish-tan stone bricks.
There were large openings with no windows that had fires and huge vapors of heat coming from them. The heatwaves coming from the openings were so intense, that Fei Lei could see the air rippling around as fumes.
Fei Lei looked over at Yan Mei's excited expression and smiled as he grabbed her hand and said, "Come on, let's see what an Enchanter's Forgey looks like!"
Yan Mei laughed and ran inside the building beside him, they came to a stop as they entered the entrance while a wave of dry heat washed over them.
Fei Lei, Yan Mei, and Hina could hear the sounds of fires roaring, the reverberating hammers smashing against steel, and the hissing of oil cooling metals, all echoed throughout the building.
Fei Lei could feel a powerful Mana surging all over the building's interior, he didn't know it, but, the entire building was covered in multi-layered spell matrixes.
To him, it appeared to be radiating magical energy like an item would, "Is this whole building a Magical Item!?" Fei Lei questioned in disbelief.
While Yan Mei was staring at the building fascinated by its construction, she heard Fei Lei mention it was a Magic Item and nodded her head in agreement as she said, "It has to be at least a Peerless Immortal Rank Treasure. It feels like the training room at the Huo Clan's Estate."
Fei Lei nodded his head in contemplation as he walked up to the front desk, behind it, was a short bearded, bulky, and stout man, sketching away at a blueprint while oblivious to the rest of the world around him.
Fei Lei cleared his voice as he grabbed the Dwarf's attention and said, "Excuse me? I'm someone who has commissioned Jack Tuner to work on some items. I've come to talk about my order."
The Dwarf behind the counter dropped his Pen, he looked up to see Fei Lei and shook his head before saying, "Another one? Ugh, you're really taking a chance by choosing that fellow."
The Dwarf then pulled out a wooden pass in the shape of a hexagon, on its surface was the design of a hammer hitting an anvil.
Next, he brought out a clipboard with a piece of leather on it and said, "Sign here. Leave your information and why you're here. If you have a Guild ID, please let me see them now."
Fei Lei filled out the papers and handed off the clipboard to Yan Mei as he pulled out his Guild Card and gave it over.
As the Dwarf looked at the card he rubbed his eyes, "This can't be right!" He was staring at Fei Lei's Mage Ranking, "Tyro! Non-Elemental! This can't be fake? Can it?"
The Dwarf was looking over the card and put on a strange pair of glasses that looked like they had a magnifying glass on them.
After looking it over he handed the card back in disbelief.
As Fei Lei took the card he looked to the Dwarf and said, "I trust confidentiality is a thing that you provide to your clients? Correct?"
Fei Lei released a bit of his killing intent causing the Dwarf's hairs to stand on end.
"Aye, we do!" The Dwarf replied with a pale face when he suddenly felt the killing intent vanish.
A single drop of sweat dripped from his brow as Yan Mei and Hina walked up beside Fei Lei, the two of them then also handed over their Guild Cards.
When the Dwarf saw the names on them he started to sweat even more.
"This boy is riddled with secrets!" He thought as he handed out two more passes.
"The Enchanter young miss Yan Mei wishes to meet is on the 7th floor, the Enchanter for young miss Hina is on the 9th floor, and for you, you can find J.Tunner on the first floor," The Dwarf said wanting to be left alone.
Fei Lei tilted his head and asked, "Does the order of floors discern the skill of the crafter?"
"Yes, it does, the higher you go the greater the crafter's talent." The Dwarf paused, then let out a depressed sigh before he said, "But, Tuner's situations a little special, he's a genius no doubt, but he's constantly ignoring order specifications and making whatever he feels like with the commission funds. He ends up costing us tons of cash on wasted materials and is often put here as a punishment."
"So he's stuck on the first floor because of attitude problems?" Fei Lei questioned.
"Aye, that he is. Now, get out of here, I want to go back to my blueprint!" The Dwarf responded as he picked up his pen and started drawing again.
Fei Lei smiled as he gestured a wave goodbye and walked off towards the back room of the first floor.
The spacious room had many workers standing next to metal forges that radiated with intense heat. The forgers were pulling out hot pieces of magical ores, smashing their hammers against them, turning the ore over and folding it several times.
Every time the hammer struck against the hot ore, small magic circles shot out like sparks as they started to imprint what looked like certain spell matrixes into its surface.
However, Fei Lei didn't recognize any of the symbols that were being implanted into the magical treasures.
"Those must be the Runes Yan Mei talked about," Fei Lei thought as he observed them a while longer.
After he felt that he had seen enough, Fei Lei turned his head to see certain armor stations where completed works of apparel were being chiseled with magical carving tools.
Tools like a Carving Knife, Soft Hammer, and Chisel, all glowed with what Fei Lei could only describe as dozens of Rune Matrixes, surrounding their surfaces.
He asked around for Jack's station and received many awkward glances and apologetic gestures or looks.
When he finally arrived at the smallest station, Fei Lei noticed a fairly attractive young man, with slightly pointed ears, short black hair, emerald-green eyes, and a strong physique that showed how hard he worked in the smithery.
The worker wore a thick leather apron full of various smithing tools, and at his hip was a large tool-belt that held his hammer and chisel.
Undeath his apron, he wore a modest black shirt and baggy blue pants that were tucked into a pair of long leather boots.
Fei Lei noticed that he was sitting at his desk and like so many others working in this place, he drawing up blueprints.
Fei Lei then walked up next to them and peered at what Jack was working on.
When he saw the project Jack was experimenting with, Fei Lei's expression quickly turned to surprise.
Jack Tuner, was building what seemed to a high-altitude airship.
It had three long sails, two large engines on the back, and several smaller jets running along the bottom of the ship's spine.
The detailed blueprints showed that it needed to use many Mana fire and water Cores to fuel the engine, and next to it were a list of calculations.
When Fei Lei saw the symbols Jack was using for his math, he shook his head and sighed with a pessimistic tone.
This world had many measurements similar to Earths, however, their use of math in geometry was simple and lacking certain factors.
Fei Lei started reworking the math in his head, he then pulled out a piece of paper and a pen before quickly writing down all the corrections needed.
Laying the paper beside Jack's hand, the young smith's eyes widened as he suddenly turned around with an expression of disbelief on his face.
Jack looked to the smiling Fei Lei, then back at his work and sighed, "I guess it was impossible after all. Powering the engine for a long duration was a pipe dream. Your math is impeccable, the energy absorption of this model is too great. Even if I could make an engine that could support multiple Mana Cores, there would be too much Mana being lost during the transference process, and only around 15% of the Core is actually put to any use."
Jack turned to Fei Lei with a solemn stare in his eyes, he then clasped his hands together and bowed, "Thank you, brother, I would not have figured the underlying issue was this bad and may have continued to waste my time."
Fei Lei laughed and said, "If you had a battery that could store the energy into a more controllable form, and you add in a good enough regulator, you could keep the energy-leakage down to a minimum of, oh, let's say two percent. Oh yeah, what are you doing for shielding? Is it both air-tight and aerodynamic? How do the sails work? Do they let air currents pass through the barrier? Wait, there is no barrier! You know, the higher you go the less oxygen there is? You won't be able to breathe at that altitude!"
"Battery? Regulator? Aerodynamic?" Jack scratched his head with a puzzled expression.
Fei Lei laughed before he explained the meaning of the terms he was throwing out.
Jack was fascinated by Fei Lei's descriptions and began thinking deeply as if he were in his own world, it took him a while to respond when he said, "Sorry, you must be a customer. How can I help you?"
Fei Lei smiled and pulled out his Clear Mist and asked, "I like to know what you made this out of."
He then pulled out his Bo-Staff Sword and said, "I'd also like you to make another sword designed like this one with the same or better materials. As for my armor, I want something like what I'm wearing. I don't care about fancy Enchantments, I just want it to be durable. I'm tired of having to make new clothes from scratch."
Jack began to look over Clear Mist and rubbed his chin as he said, "That old thing, it was a failure, it didn't work with Non-Elementals."
Jack then began taking up Fei Lei's 200-pound heavy blade, with the Bo-Staff handle detachment.
When he took the weapon into his head, Jack felt it being pulled to the ground by gravity.
Mustering up all his strength, he managed to keep the sword in his hands and placed it on his work desk.
"Heavy, is this pure Iron? How is it able to store the Bo-Staff inside the handle? Oh, the Bo-Staff is parted and flexible too?" Jack asked as he looked over the mechanical parts that kept the Bo-Staff inside the handle and spine of the blade.
"Interesting, there aren't any Enchantments on the blade, but the nicks on its edge and the cuts across the fuller show its seen battle with magical beasts," Jack mumbled out as he inspected the weapon.
Fei Lei then activated the transparent blade on Clear Mist, making Jack almost drop the heavy blade on his hand.
"As you can see, a Non-Elementalist can use the blade. You didn't fail," Fei Lei announced with a grin on his face.
"Wait, you're a Non-Elementalist!?" Jack responded with fascination in his tone.
Fei Lei showed him his two sigils making him even more surprised, "I have a proposition for you, Mr.Tuner, if you come work for me I can show you the power of what I call technology!"
"Technology? What's that?" Jack asked with a serious expression on his face.
"They are items that can do amazing things, yet they use no magic." Fei Lei then gave him a brief description of some of the modern wonders that technology can bring, such as mechanical wonders, electrical power, and computers.
Throughout the entire conversation, Jack remained very skeptical about the information Fei Lei was giving him.
Seeing the doubt on his face, Fei Lei handed over directions to his future city and said, "If you don't believe me, you can always see for yourself."
"How far out in the wilderness is your place?" Jack took the paper and frowned, "To think someone was crazy enough to build a residence in the Monster Breeding Mountains!"
"That place is more than it seems, if you want, you can leave with the protection of the Guild Team that I've hired," Fei Lei stated.
"Who did you hire?" Jack asked.
"The Sky Wardens," Fei Lei answered with a grin.
Jack showed and impressed expression over the fact Fei Lei knew such trustworthy Adventures, he then grabbed his chin and thought for a second before he said, "It's a gamble."
Fei Lei smiled at the prospect of inviting a fellow inventor to broaden his horizons, especially when it came to the knowledge of Enchantment.
"One can always use capable hands. After all, building a city is no easy task, even with the use of magic," Fei Lei thought before he looked to Jack and asked, "Do you have any books on Crafting that I could buy off of you?"
Jack lifted a brow and responded with a wry grin, "You think a Non-Elementalist has the ability to Enchant?"
Laughing in amusement, Jack summoned a large book from his spatial ring and handed it over before saying, "I'll come to pick that up when I reach your place of residence."
Grabbing the thick 2000 page tome with the title 'J.Tuner's Guide on Forge.' Fei Lei gave Jack a look of surprise before asking, "No cost?"
"I'm more interested in seeing whether or not you can pull it off. However, I'm still charging you for the commission of forging your new weapon, Starfall Steel isn't cheap." Jack said nodding his head.
"Starfall Steel? Is that what my Clear Mist is made of?" Fei Lei questioned while holding the weapon in his hand.
"You named it Clear Mist? What an interesting name." Jack said as he took the weapon out of Fei Lei's hands and pulled out a purple engraving chisel alongside a small hammer.
He then quickly etched the name 'Clear Mist' into the base of the hilt. He moved so quickly, Fei Lei didn't even see the Rune's he implanted into it.
The weapon suddenly shined as Jack handed back to Fei Lei, and as he held it in his hands, Fei Lei felt that it had increased slightly in power.
"A good name can do wonders, I'm sorry my creation, I had misjudged you. It has now become a Flawless Earthly Treasure, treat it well. If you reforge it with the right materials, someday it might evolve."
Fei Lei smiled and placed the weapon away before asking, "How do I improve the weapon's quality?"
"The answers are in the book I gave you, so study up!" Jack said as he turned away and began creating a new blueprint based on Fei Lei's heavy blade.
Fei Lei and Jack quickly went over the rest of his order and met up with the girls before they headed out towards the Alchemy Building.
Along the way, they traversed throughout the city and kept their eyes on anything being sold that might catch their interest.
With nothing good found, they quickly approached a large building in the shape of a cauldron.
The large building similar to the Smithery stood around ten stories high and had a medicinal smell coming from it.
As they entered through the large stone double doors, Fei Lei and the rest could smell the scent of rare magical herbs and potions being concocted drifting throughout the lobby.
Most of the building was cordoned off, restricted signs and its maze-like interior kept workers out of sight, a complete opposite compared to the Smithery, the Alchemist hid their art from the eye of the public.
The group looked around the circular-shaped lobby room with dozens of chairs lined beside each other in an orderly manner.
Groups of people were sitting in the seats, some appeared to be adventures, some were people preparing to join Alchemy Hall, there were Merchants selling Herbs, and the others were sickly patents of some sort.
At the back of the room was a large marble counter that was in the shape of a, U.
Behind the front desk, an elderly woman was sitting on a stool surrounded by piles of paperwork. She had long brown hair, green eyes, and wore a white over-robe.
While looking around the room a bit, Fei Lei noticed that the design and layout of the Alchemy Hall somewhat resembled a hospital from Earth.
The way the building was constructed, the manner in which they hide their work behind closed doors, the sterile environment, and now patients.
