Fei Lei looked at Tetra while they walked alongside each other through an expansive field of grass and asked, "So where are we going?"
Tetra smiled "Somewhere we can get stronger, one of my old dojos to be precise. I just hope it's still in one piece, it's been years since I was tricked out of my strength."
"Tricked out of your strength? Wait a minute you're even stronger than you already are right now?" Fei Lei questioned in awe.
"Yeah, I lost a bet against a certain powerful being, and it caused the loss of my physique's vitality. Right now I'm trying to revive the 90% or so dead muscles in my body while using my Breath of the Spring,." Tetra responded with a depressed sigh.
"How are you even walking?" Fei Lei asked in surprise.
"By mixing it with my level 0 spell Puppet Master, I can use my Mana to forcibly move my body. Oh, yeah, my bodies not normal either, think of it being made of silver," Tetra answered.
Fei Lei listened carefully as he walked beside his teacher while he explained his circumstances, "If I can get my hands of some high-quality Magical Herbs, I can constantly dose my muscles with a highly refined drug. After some time, I should be able to get back to a decent strength sooner rather than later. Think of it like I'm cursed and slowly breaking it."
Fei Lei scratched his head and said, "Yeah I didn't get any of that."
Tetra laughed before saying, "Just like you I am a Non-Elementalist Spell Caster, I'm going to teach you some old and very powerful Spells, Fei Lei."
"You're a non-elemental like me?" Fei Lei questioned.
Tetra lifted a brow as he asked, "Is it so surprising? Listen, Fei Lei, Non-Elemental Mages are far from simple casters, they have the most unique abilities out of all the Elements, some can do amazing things, even as a Level-0."
Fei Lei looked up in awe and excitement before he called out, "Teacher?"
"Yeah?" Tetra replied back.
"You look ten years or so younger since I woke up. How old are you? Really?" Fei Lei asked in surprise.
"Old enough! HAHAHA!" Tetra answered while laughing.
They arrived at the outskirts of Hystaria one of the 10 Capitals of Magic in the Eastern Empire, they traversed deep through the Monster Trail Forest, until they reached a small shack-like dojo blended in with the natural environment surrounding it.
Seeing that his home was still in one piece, Tetra led Fei Lei inside to begin his training.
The rooms were covered in layers of dust and dirt, some animals that had broken in chewed through certain areas in the house, and all the Magic-Tech such as the lighting as well as water production, needed new Mana Cores to operate them.
"First order of training, clean this place up! I'm going to go take a nap, and when I get up, I better be able to see my reflection on the floor's surface," Tetra said in oscitance as headed towards his room.
"Yes, teacher!" Fei Lei grimaced before got to work.
After spending 4 hours cleaning up the place, Fei Lei could say that the place looked halfway decent now.
"Good job," Tetra said with a waking yawn while he looked around at the sparkling rooms.
"Thank you, Teacher!" Fei Lei responded with a respectful bow.
"Alright, we'll start every day with one hour of breathing techniques, then the real training begins," Tetra rubbed his chin as he planed out a training regiment for Fei Lei.
Most of what he made Fei Lei do was physical exercise, and during this time, Fei Lei's body began to grow stronger and stronger.
As the years passed, Fei Lei had gone above and beyond in his training, taking on more than he could handle every time while setting newer and newer limits on his body. The phrase, strong Mana dwells within a strong body, was relentlessly railed into him during the first few years of his training.
Fei Lei had finally been given the okay to start learning magic, first, he discovered that he was like his master. He only needed to memorize the spell matrixes in all of its entirety and think of it to cast.
Next was the rankings for Spell Casters were Adept, Tyro, Erudite, Sorcerer, Wizard, Warlock, Arch Wizard, Grand Warlock, and Prime Magus.
Every stage of power was split into three forms, Gas, Liquid, and Solid. Fei Lei's Gas Sigil was considered a level 0 Spell Sigil.
In order to rank up, one must absorb Magic Cores that are suited towards their Sigil's elements, or use a Special Mantra that only Nobles and prestigious Magician Academies have access to.
Next, he learned to the two types of Spell Casting, there was Sigil use and Spell Matrixes.
Sigils are magical imprints that give Mages their unique and personalized spells, it is beyond rare for someone, anyone to have the same Sigil. Fei Lei included, there would only be at least 10 to 20 Human Transfiguration Sigils in the world at one time.
The major upside to Sigils is that they have almost no mana drain for activating them, the downside is there is no do-over for selecting your Spell Sigil, you get what you get.
When gaining new Sigils, there was a special catch to it, for instance, Fei Lei's level 0 Spell exists in a gaseous form, and if he could rank it up to a liquid, it would be considered a 0.5 Level Spell Sigil. If he managed to somehow turn it into a Solid Level Sigil, it would become a Level 1 Spell Sigil.
Regular Spells are Spell Matrixes created by dozens of predecessor Mages, anyone can make a spell as they are derived from the comprehension they gained towards their Sigil and other spell matrixes.
As long as their knowledge and understanding of mana and spell specifics is good enough, these spells can be used by anyone with matching affinities.
This gave Non-Elemental Spells both an upside and a downside. If one was stuck with a Non-Elemental Spell Sigil like Fei Lei, then they would be labeled as affinity-less too and unable to cast spell matrixes of other elements, but the upside to Non-Elemental spells is that they can be used by anyone regardless of elemental affinity.
Fei Lei was giving several Level 0 books to study, there were at least 120 different level 0 spells gathered before him, Fei Lei had no choice but to start going through them and start learning the ones he put a priority on.
He ended up choosing ten different Level 0 Spells, yet only the Boost Spell that was Non-Elemental had a whole collection of spells ranging from Level Zero to Nine.
This spell was capable of doubling all of his physical parameters in exchange for his body's stamina, the higher levels turned into x3, x4, x5, all the way to the level 9 version which was x10.
The spell builds up fatigue so it can't be used for extended periods of time, it also puts a heavy strain on the body's muscles, organs, and skeleton.
Level 0 Spell Quick Recovery: This spell exchanges vitality to heal minor wounds. After using this spell one must sleep to regain lost vitality, it causes one to enter a healing coma for greater wounds, such as fractures and breaks.
Level 0 Spell Innervision: This allows one to exchange their mana to search the inside of their own body, it was usually used to search for internal damage done to the body.
Level 0 Spell Invoke Intent: Allows one to use their mana as a medium to manifest and extend their intents, such as goodwill or killing intent.
Level 0 Spell Clean: This allows one to remove dirt from an object or person.
Level 0 Spell Gravity Increase: This allows one to double the weight of their body and anything they wear.
Level 0 Spell Lion Roar: Creates a weak sonic boom by enchanting the caster's lungs.
Level 0 Spell Hypnosis: Mixes Mana alongside the caster's voice to hypnotize those with weak wills.
Level 0 Spell Foresight: Able to give the caster a danger sense of a sort, if there is an immediate danger of any sort, the caster will fill a piercing throb in their frontal lobe, letting them have a feeling uncertainty and pain.
Level 0 Spell Cloak: With this spell, the caster can seal off their presence to hide from wild animals, doesn't work on animals with higher levels of intelligence.
Each of the spell Matrixes was extremely complex and made up of certain universal truths and laws, one had to have an advanced understanding of language, math, and geometry to create a spell matrix. Even more so, on the specific wording of the spell, such as how it works and why it works.
Fei Lei was smart and already had a basic understanding of all these things, in fact, the more he studied, the more memories from his previous incarnation slipped through the cracks and helped him learn.
Noticing that his Teacher had many other books besides just spells, Fei Lei continued to gain as much knowledge by reading everything he could get his hands on.
After many hours passed, Fei Lei had piled up over a hundred different reading materials on one of the many massive wooden tables that reside in the house's library.
The manuscripts he gathered contained information pertaining to, maps of the world, geology, magic items, alchemy, dozens of bestiaries, agriculture, directories of magical herbs, and treasures.
Magic Items have the progressing stages of power, Mortal, Earthly, Heavenly, Spirit, Immortal, Kingly, Emperor, Relics, and Artifact level treasures, every item has its own rarity, Flawed, Moderate, Flawless, Peerless, and Grand Creation.
These rarities can determine whether an item is worth keeping, for instance, a Flawed Earthly treasure is weaker than a Peerless and Grand Creation Mortal ranked treasure.
A Grand Creation Treasure is special, these ultimate works can evolve alongside their owners, given enough time and training, they can even manifest an Item Spirit.
The ranking of the mystic beast has many variants that follow a single cultivation system; the known the book showed recorded variants that according to Tetra no longer existed on this land.
Mystical Beast, God Beast, Unique Bloodlines, Aberrations, and Demonic Beasts. Yet he knew only of Magical Beasts surviving on this continent.
He read about other races, the Fye, Demonkin, Beastkin, Dragons, Dwarfs, Elves, Elemental Spirits, and many more.
Fei Lei was really interested as to where his teacher gained this information, but he never gave him a straight answer, saying things like 'I found it on my warrior's pilgrimage. You have your own someday too!' and 'This world is full of destined opportunities, it's up to you to seek out your own.'
Their cultivation system has nine steps just like human cultivation; however, the experiences and evolution greatly differ from humans.
They grow through stages that the people classified as a star rating danger system, 1 Star being the weakest, and 9 Star being the strongest.
The first step in their cultivation they are considered to be only slightly different than any other wild beast, this is called the 0 Star Stage, and it is at this stage, they begin forming their monster essence, and Mana into their chrysalis.
When a magic beast forms their Mana Core, only then do the beasts truly begin to learn cultivation.
From this point on they are known as 1 Star Beasts. This period of time, is a magical beast's most sensitive stage of evolution, as they are attempting to remove the untamed bestial nature from their souls. This causes them to become extremely aggressive and territorial over their cultivation sites.
At the 3 Star Level, they begin to develop their mental awareness, giving them the same level of intelligence as a 2-year-old human child driven by all the wild instincts of their bestial nature.
They can still evolve even if they don't develop their awareness; in fact, some of the Magic Beast chooses not to form their monster's wisdom and align with an element. They can instead choose to remain as beast-like minded creatures gaining incredible physical abilities.
If they choose not to forego their mental awareness, they can instead choose to form a Tyrant Core instead, thus evolving them into Tyrant Beast.
These terrifying monstrous beings have an entirely new cultivation system of their own and are completely vicious, mad, and self-destructive in nature, every time someone's managed to kill them their Tyrant Cores explode creating a massive crater of destruction that's always a few Stars higher than their rating.
Fei Lei continued to research the many books pertaining to magical beasts, with great enthusiasm.
If they manage to reach the 7 Star Level, this allows them to wield the power of the elements with ease, and become one with the element giving them an almost immortal elemental body.
The 7 Star stage is when they create their Bestial Insignias on the Mana Cores. This chrysalis insignia contains all of the creature's training, and experiences in them, if such a beast gained many high-level insights towards certain concepts the more complex and intricate their insignia becomes.
If a practitioner were to refine such a monster chrysalis then they would gain a deeper affinity, and understanding towards those specific universal truths.
Fei Lei sighed before saying, "There's not much information for the last two stages, and most of the findings are inconclusive as the pages are too worn to read."
Next was the order of evolution and rakings of mystic Herbs.
The different tiers are Poor, Flawed, Perfect, and Heavenly, the rankings of Mystic Herbs are Copper Rank, Bronze Rank, Silver Rank, Gold Rank, Platinum Rank, Diamond Rank, Medicine King/Queen, Medicine Emperor/Empress, and Medicine God/Goddess.
Fei Lei went further into detail as he read out loud, "Unless special action is taken in altering the growing environment of the herbs, it takes 10 years of constant Mana absorption, for a copper ranking Magic plant to form then to evolve, they undergo repeated heavenly tribulations.
After a hundred years it can evolve to a bronze rank herb, in a thousand it can become a silver ranked mystic herb, ten thousand years it becomes gold ranked, Platinum at fifty thousand years, Diamond at one hundred thousand years.
Then they undergo a massive evolution to become Medicine Kings or Queens, at five hundred thousand years, and it undergoes its final evolution at one million years of age to become Medicine Emperors or Empresses.
Next, he began reading into Alchemy.
There are nine levels of Master for the Alchemist profession, Primary Alchemist, Novice Alchemist, Apprentice Alchemist, Intermediate Alchemist, Journeyman Alchemist, Advanced Alchemist, Expert Alchemist, Master Alchemist, and Grandmaster Alchemist.
The Alchemy system consists of seven elements, which included the five classical elements of Wood, Air, Earth, Fire, and Water, the final two are the Metal, and Lightning Elements, which represents the Alchemist's life force and their Cauldrons.
The theory of alchemy coincides with the atomic theory of a physical theory that supposes all matter to be composed of minute particles, and where all physical bodies possess both an inner spiritual and outer physical layer, that consist of these minute particles or corpuscles.
Fei Lei was surprised to find out that the Alchemist had figured out the simplified version of atomic structures, but the lack of information showed that they still had a lot to learn.
To use alchemy one must concoct with their souls and mental energy in perfect harmony, they then use their Mana to mix and merge the ingredients on a molecular and magical level.
This process is very taxing on one's Mental Energy and Mana, so large Mana reservoirs as well as powerful Mental Focus is a mandatory factor needed to become a full-fledge Alchemist.
Fei Lei looked over regions and history next.
For starters, a lot was missing, a big blank zone in their timeline one could say. The most current history was more prevalent anyways so Fei Lei turned his eyes to the information he could read.
There is one continent surrounded by a few dozen island nations, the Continent he resides on is called Magorria, there are 5 Empires that rule over many Mage Kingdoms.
There is the northern Empire ruled by Loke, the Emperor of Silence.
The Eastern Empire, which is ruled by the half breed, Jorm Shin, the Storm Emperor.
The Western Empire and their Iron Star Emperor, Tony Willheim.
The Southern Empire is ruled over by someone called the Anarchy Emperor, which made Fei Lei laugh because it was a complete condition to an oxymoron of a word.
Lastly was the Central Kingdom, ruled over by Emperor Pendragon, also known as the Mana Emperor.
