Chapter 3 - So Angry He'll Cripple Himself

Opening my eyes I released a breath foul air. For the past six months, I've been wholeheartedly refining my body and setting my foundations. Due to Lan Hao having destroyed my Martial Soul thoroughly in the case my predecessor somehow was blessed with a fortunate opportunity and became a threat, I can't just fix it. Rather I need to change the aspects of my soul, luckily my previous martial soul was just a mere gauntlet that didn't possess anything special so I should be able to use it for combat once I reach Soul Manifestation Realm.

In the case that my Martial Soul was anything special like the Soul Devouring Asura or Thousand Armed Beast Cannon I would more or less have to create a Divine Pill to fix such an issue.

But putting that issue aside, I decided to finally leave my estate. With my father's personality, it won't be long before I have to leave. Exiting my estate I was greeted by Bao'er. "Young Master Xiaodong, you've finally left your estate!" She said happily.

"Of course, with all of the amazing meals you've been offering me it would be odd for me to not recover, no?" I replied.

"Indeed but, Young Master Xiaodong, Patriarch Wu wishes to speak with you privately." Bao'er said somewhat nervous.

"It seems fate truly creates coincidences..." I muttered. "The reason for my exit was specifically to meet father," I said. "I'll head their now. But for the time being, prepare my things, I'll be leaving East Sea City by dawn." In two months all of the superpowers of the world will start scouting promising youths at the Raging Sky Tournament. There I can most likely catch the attention of the Blacksmith Association or Alchemist Guild.

As I pondered about what I should do about transportation, I eventually reached my father's study.

Unlike my previous life, my predecessor's father is cold and distant. As the Patriarch of the Wu Family, what he cares about most is strength in the new generation. Hence keeping a child whose future as a Martial Artist has been destroyed would only be a waste in his eyes. I can only guess that his meeting is to officially state that I'm no longer his child and that I've been disowned.

"I might need to change my surname..." I thought.

With my terrible relationship with Father and Mother's bottomless love for him, I wouldn't dare wish to possess the same family name even if the devil stood before me telling me to do so.

...

Standing before a door larger than even my estate, I donned my predecessor's air of arrogance before entering the room.

"It seems you've finally left your estate Xiaodong." Starring at me coldly, my father's eyes shined a bright crimson light.

"Indeed I have, Father," Looking towards the man clad in black garbs, I could only hide my anger towards before him.

The man that I called father, was in truth nothing but a cold brute. Throughout my predecessor's childhood, he would beat Mother to no end and treat her as nothing but a prostitute. Compared to the other concubines, he appeared to be targeting mother and I specifically. I have no idea whether or not this has to do with the fact that I was the first born and not his wife's child, but even then it still doesn't justify this bastards attitude.

"You are no child of mine." He said. "For you, a cripple to possess the surname Wu is a disgrace. From now on you are no longer part of this family. Leave this place by the dawn." Releasing his killing intent he opened the doors with a wave of his hand. "Should you stay past that I'll personally execute you before your mother." He said coldly.

Looking towards the foolish brute I sighed. "If that's the case good by Patriarch Wu, I wish for your treasures the best." Leaving with a smug smirk on my face, I couldn't help but laugh inwardly as he stared at me with disdain.

Returning back to my estate, I was greeted yet again by Bao'er who had appeared to have done what I asked of. "Young Master Xiaodong, why must you leave East Sea City?" She asked somewhat distressed.

"Bao'er, from now on I am Tang Xiaodong, Father had informed me that I am no longer part of the Wu Family," I said calmly.

"B-but why?" She asked in confusion.

"Patriarch Wu is a cold man, now that my Dantian has been crippled he sees me as only a waste of resources. Hence I've been disowned. I predicted for this to occur long ago, thus why I asked to take things out of the treasury whilst I was in my estate." Revealing a small grin I continued. "That old man should be so angry by dawn that he'll cripple himself from the sudden rise in Yang Qi and the disturbance in his meridians," I couldn't help but chuckle a little as I thought about what such a scene would look like.

"Young Master has changed..." Realizing why I had given her all of these strange tasks now and then, Bao'er couldn't help but widen her eyes in shock. "W-wouldn't Patriarch Wu hunt you down afterward?" Somewhat fearful of what would happen, I reassured Bao'er.

"Don't worry, by the time he'll see me again I'll have a strong enough backing to suppress him indefinetly," I said.

"En..." Processing everything that Tang Xiaodong had done she could only question whether or not this was the same person she had been friends with through all of these years.

Before the incident, the previous Wu Xiaodong was a cold-hearted and arrogant person. Though he wasn't evil or cruel, he was still considered to be a waste, a fool. Yet now he was different, unlike his previous self, he was somewhat kinder to others but plotted against those who wronged him. Not only that but his arrogance was nonexistent, his eyes no longer appeared to be looking down on others but rather appeared to view everyone the same. It was like he became a different person overnight.

"But that aside Bao'er, do want to join me?" Deciding to put aside those matters, I placed all my things within my ring before asking Bao'er this simple question.
