Chapter 5 - 5

TwinCity Continent

Tetran Country, Willow City >>

It was spring season in Willow City and it brought the surrounding in a calmed state. The trees swayed and the wind blew around the city.

The youth clad in white and blue robes was reminded that she was still alive. It was a long walk from the school gate that made her exhausted and thirsty.

Chun looked to her butler who had a nonchalant expression and the latter was still on his pristine condition like he was just taking a walk in the park. The young master was irked by this situation as she slightly fixed her short hair and straightened her creased robes. Her feet were both numb from the long walk and she felt like dying, this was the most unbearable punishment on her lazy life.

"How can you do it, Art?" Chun grumbled towards her butler.

The butler raised his brow while looking to his mischievous young master.

"Young lord, I will now be in your shadows," Art did not dilly-dallied and disappeared on his spot after he assisted Chun.

Chun frowned and turned her gaze to the approaching high structures on sight. Finally... They walked for five hours and now she could finally see the school's structure from afar.

Maybe another two hours.

The youth sighed as she proceeded on walking alone.

----

The Harconia Institute lived up to its fame as it supported by massive twin pillars that would first welcomed the people on-sight. The school was very large that could be around ten football fields size while it was in the middle of the Indigo Forest.

Chun observed the people lining up for the application as an instructor. It could be counted around fifty people that was still lining as the others left with disappointment on their faces. Chun frowned as she did not expected that they would easily eliminated the applicants on the spot.

"Why is it today? Why did Master Quin was incharged of the test?" grumbled by a passerby to her friend.

"Yes. Why is my luck bad today?! My parents would be totally disappointed," replied by the other.

The youth fortunately had sharp hearing sense so she heard what they were talking. Master Quin. Who is that?

She looked with curiosity towards the line as she just found a bench on the side. She sat on it and others noticed her handsome attractive appearance. This was her downside other than being lazy, she's a narcissist.

"Who is he?"

"He's so handsome! What's his name?"

"Is he going to apply too?!"

"It would be luck that he will be picked"

"And luck for the students that could be assigned to him!"

"He's so handsome! Let's talk to him?!"

"But Master Quin is unbiased so it would be depended on his ability then"

"Yeah"

The youth that they were talking heard the whispers of some young ladies as she turned her gaze to them and smiled at them showing her two deep dimples.

The young ladies that were directed to that killer smile was all flustered and others were K.O 'ed.

"He's very handsome! I'm dying, help me"

"But he's to young to be applying"

"Idiot. The younger, the stronger!"

This was the fact for all cultivators as they passed the immortality realm, they would stay younger and pristine. Having that youthful vigor and noble aura made Chun more appealing to the ladies.

The cultivators had these three realms to passed in order to ascend in the immortaliy realm and there are stages to went through.

(A/N: the cultivation realms are under the description chapter. I added it, recently. Just look it up if you want to know more.)

"But are you sure that he is in the immortal realm? The cultivators that were on immortality realm could be counted only in five fingers and they were each sect masters except for Grandmaster Tiu which was a heretic"

Chun just ignored there gossips as she waited for the people to finished. While the young ladies were admiring her, some young masters were glaring at her while giving nasty remarks that was unminded by her.

"Young lord, what do you want to eat?" asked by her butler through their mind-link.

"Not this hour, Art"

"What do you mean, young lord?"

"I'm not hungry"

"Then maybe this evening?"

"Just prepare a braised pork lamb, kimchi stew and some tofu"

"As you wish, young lord"

While the youth was busy talking through her mind, the lining people were down to five individuals. They were all came from prominent families that had a lineage of professional instructors.

In the purple clothing, designed with red patterned clothes was Yu In Na. She came from Lily City in Zen Country due to her grandfather's insistance on continuing their line as an instructor. She specialized in her fire techniques and woodcarving talismans.

The youth with black hair with blue highlights, wearing gray robes and carrying some kind of wrapped swords on his back was a master blacksmith. His family was renowned for their armaments and they were known for making samurai swords. His name was Rey Li and he came from the Greatworld continent.

The next one was a young man with his gray rimmed glasses, busy typing on his tablet. He never left his eyes on the screen even he was walking, he would glanced for a bit infront and went back typing. He was known for his pen name Cai. Behind him was his mysterious powerful family that made his personal information were unable to be obtained.

Behind him was an all-pink girl. From her hair down to her clothing was all pink, her name was Xi Lei. The other one who was all blue was her twin sister Xi Rin and they both specialized in illusion alchemy.

Chun observed the five individuals that had more chances of applying as a teacher in the institute. They were all known figures on their cities as told by her butler. She was still looking at a sleeve of a figure when her silent observing was interrupted.

"AHHH!"

The screaming voice came from the back of the registration hall which was a secluded mini garden. Due to curiosity, Chun went to look at the forming crowd in the garden. And because of the disturbance, it stopped the registration.

A tall lean man with white long hair on his mid-twenties walked gracefully, parting the crowds, giving him way. The elegant handsome individual was Master Quin, famous for his strict and stern aura that made the people around difficult to approach him.

At the same time, Chun glanced at the handsome figure and looked back in the gory scene infront of him.

The badly beaten girl was mutilated into an unrecognizable state, not for her black long hair and female uniform, she would not be recognized of her gender. Her skirt was ripped open and some lacerations on her lower part were present.

The people on the crowd were students and others were applicants who failed. Some of the onlooking people vomitted from the scene and others covered their nose due to the bad stench.

A girl in female uniform was crying with a boy in uniform comforting her.

Master Quin creased his brows as he observed the state of the victim's body.

"Who discovered the body?"

"I am, Master Quin." stated by a blonde student who had a pale face.

An assistant came from the line of guards of the school, walked towards Master Quin and asked him if they should call the headmaster.

"No, I'll settle this," Master Quin turned around and stared at the crowd, " Students! Please go back to your classes---"

"Wait!"

A youth with silvery white hair and blue-green eyes interrupted the man.

"It will not be good if the suspect escapes," Chun stated while still looking at the crime scene.

Master Quin gazed at the youth for a moment and accepted her idea.

"Secure the area, don't let anyone leave." The assistant obliged and commanded the guards.

Chun was concentrated at the scene while Quin slowly inched closer the unsuspecting youth.

"How did you know that the suspect is still here?"

"Instincts." The youth simply stated as she focused her sight on something blinking under the hair of the victim. The lip corner of the man raised from what he heard.

"Do you have gloves?" Chun asked Quin, not looking away from the blinking object.

"Sheng? Gloves" the assistant flicked his sleeves and a pair of gloves came out from his storage space.

"Young master," Chun wore the gloves and neared the victim, "May I?"

Quin nodded at her while looking at the youth with a glint of amusement on his eyes.

Chun lifted the hair and took the blinking object that was stucked on it. It was a piece of pink jade oval-shaped bead. She observed the pink jade bead and landed her gaze at someone for a second.

That person turned stiff when her sight hovered a bit. Chun gazed at Quin, handing the pink jade on him.

"And is this some kind of evidence?" Quin asked with his amused look.

"Maybe." Chun shrugged it off as she finished examining the body.

The ignored male student was suddenly on the spotlight as Quin looked at him with questioning icy cold gaze.

The male student went pale from that icy look as he stutteredly explained. He narrated that while he was going on his usual routine, eating at the mini garden after training, he stumbled upon this body.

The still crying female student glared at the innocent looking youth, "You killed her!"

The youth who stumbled upon the scene creased his brows while he heard the accusation.

"Why would I kill her? I love her!"

"You killed her because she declined you!"

Is this some kind of drama?

Chun thought while pondering at the unfolding scene.

Quin directed his gaze at the crying student and asked the student her relationship to the victim.

"She is my bestfriend. Alina was a very good girl and our department muse. That guy Rye," while pointing at the youth who discovered the crime scene, "He killed her! He stated that if Alina would not go out with him then Alina would not go out with anyone!"

"That was just due to my emotion, there's no meaning on it!" the male shouted angrily at the former.

"Silence." Quin interrupted the heated scene before it would turn into something else.

Sheng, the assistant coughed and spoked the victim's identity.

She was Yu Ali Na, the third young miss of the Yu household from the capital city of Zen Country. She was renowned for her brain and beauty, specialized in fire talismans.

Yu Ali Na...

Yu?

The white haired youth directed her stare on a purple clothed girl. They don't looked alike though.

Yu In Na returned her gaze with an indifferent look, " What?."

"Are you perhaps related?"

"Yes, she's my former younger sister."

Former? Hearing that word made Quin's brows creased. Chun was supposed to inquire when the young lady just gave her a it's-none-of-your-business-look.

"So y-you killed y-your sister because of jealousy and now you're here t-to..." the so-called bestfriend of Alina once again accused.

Chun was silent as she looked on many perspective. No matter how you looked at it, this murder scene is a bit weird. Even the  people here were a bit strange.

"Art?"

...

There's no one responding in the mind-link.

This was the first time that she got cutted off with her butler. As her contracted butler, their bond were very closed that no one could sever it even their mind connection but she could still felt the soul of Art, but a bit hazy though.

Quin stared at the youth with a glint on his eyes, "So what can you deduce, Mr. Chun?"

After hearing the question, suddenly the youth realized something. With a smirked, she replies.

"The victim was tortured first before strangled to death, mutilated with twenty slashes and fourteen stab wounds on the upper body. She is your  former younger sister, right?" Looking at Yu In Na, "according to her rigor mortis she was killed two hours ago and other than being mutilated and strangled, she was poisoned too."

"Poisoned?" Quin asked with interest while looking at the pink jade on his gloved hand.

"What kind of poison?" The man once again asked.

"I don't know, I'm not a poison master but I can only say that this poison is very lethal, eating your internal organs while you're being oblivious," Chun stated as she opened the mouth of the victim, examining the blackening tongue.

"Hmm" Quin slightly nodded as he gazed at someone. Before that someone could ceased the simulation, they were interrupted by the youth's next sentence.

"But I can say that your test, Master Quin is very amusing. Using illusions, a-huh,"

The man was a bit surprised but he instantly change it into an amused smile.

"Well, you figured that out," he snapped his fingers, vanishing the simulation and the only one left was him and Chun in a white room with one door. Chun was seated on the chair with both her feet and hands chained to it.

"How long?"

" A minute, Master," replied by a familiar female uniformed student who entered.

"Nice. You passed," Quin smiled as he directed his stare towards the youth.

"I passed, really? Hmm. Can you please release me now?" Chun simply stated while wiggling her chained self.

"Rin?" The familiar girl obliged and released the chains. While easening her a bit bruised wrist.

"Welcome, young master Chun! You're the new instructor in the investigation department," Rin who was the female student happily stated to Chun.

Chun frowned, "Investigation?"

"Yes, we need high IQ'ed people like you to lead our newly formed group of students." Quin explained and turned to the girl, communicating to her non-verbally.

Quin then smiled a bit to Chun and nodded to the youth and left.

"Young master I mean Instructor Chun, I will be helping you with your schedules and the profile of the students you're handling," Rin then proceeded to sort out some documents and was about to start her rundown when she was halted by the youth.

"That scene earlier, did it really happened?"

"You mean the murder scene?"
