The reason for Baron's letter to Commander Ke and Commander Ba was that the likelihood of the army that was behind them flanking the two commanders were quite high after they started to retreat. This was why Baron sent an attachment to follow and track the flanking army's movements, and another attachment was sent to reinforce the two commanders as it was likely Lun Hu would begin to get really serious about the war after he heard of what had happened between Xuan Feng and Baron.
It turned out that Baron's guesses were, for the most part, correct, but one thing that he got wrong was how ferocious the army of Lun Hu would be once they got the news. Before the battle started, Zhang Da Zhi had mentioned some rumors of Lun Hu being the one who was taught by Xuan Feng once he had reached planet 4 and that was the man who he would give his all to, besides Lian Po.
Baron could see that even the reinforcements that he was sending were struggling to find a foothold amidst all of the chaos that followed Lun Hu. There were two options that Baron could opt for at the moment, one was to ignore all of that and continue hounding the Xuan Feng army as he had done previously, and the second option was to go send further aid to the two commanders. The decision was tough, but Baron decided to mostly focus on his battlefield while sending out a few attachments that wouldn't amount to much.
The sixth day continued on with it being one of the bloodiest for all 3 battlefields that were fighting mere kilometers from each other. For Baron's side, he was overwhelmingly taking care of Xuan Feng's forces. Zhang Da Zhi and his team were just beginning to get used to Jie Zi Fang and Jiang Yan's fighting style, but they were still being pushed back a little bit. That little bit took quite a lot of effort for their enemy to achieve so they considered it a win for now. Commander Ke and Ba's position was perhaps the bloodiest, they were constantly getting berated by the super soldiers that Lun Hu had trained endlessly and they were eating losses one after another.
This seemed to be the status quo for the next few days before the next major development on the two side battlefields. For Zhang Da Zhi, they had finally figured out a way to counter all of the two all-stars' moves and were now able to match them. Though they were at this position now, they had to pay heavily for it and they lost nearly 40,000 soldiers while taking down only 20,000 of their foes' soldiers. Now that they had something that they could use to win, they just need to be able to defend and they would be able to drag on the battle long enough for Baron to spill over to their battlefield. They too had gotten Baron's great piece of news, just a day later than the two commanders did.
And the two commanders who were being hounded by Lun Hu had finally chipped away at his army enough so that they could do an all-out charge against him, which they did. It turned out that even with 35,000 soldiers by his side, Lun Hu was still one tough opponent to crack. The all-out charge was fended off at the end of the day, but with great casualties to Lun Hu and his men. If they kept getting hit like this, they would not be able to go on for much longer.
During the night, there was another major development, it turned out that the army that flanked Baron on the sixth day, who had been wandering about aimlessly for the last few days, went to occupy the mountains that Roxi and her squad was operating in. Now, Roxi was always super-vigilant, so she had safely led her team and herself to safety long before they were in any real danger, but now, they would not really have a great place to hide if they wanted to get some quality, undisturbed shots in. So, they just stealthily went back to Baron's camp and waited for further orders. Baron and Roxi had not seen each other since their loss against Xuan Feng, so they took the chance to chat for a bit.
(RB) "So, it's quite amazing that you managed to repel Xuan Feng." Roxi Blaze complimented Baron.
(BM) "Oh, it's nothing special. If they did not give us ample time to prepare, as well as dictating the entire battlefield, I'm quite certain that we would not even be able to beat them with twice their numbers." Baron responded.
(RB) "Haha, take a compliment, will you? It's no fun when you're all serious like that."
(BM) "Heh, let's forget about this topic for now. How was your experience so far in this large scale battle?"
(RB) "As much as these kinds of battles are my forte, I don't really think that I would like to do this forever… Are you?"
(BM) "I'm honestly not sure. Now that you're here, I changed my ultimate goal to help the people of this planet. The only way to achieve that is to keep on fighting and keep on getting higher on the food chain. This planet is a brutal one, you nor I have seen the worst that this world has to offer."
(RB) "There you go again. Being all serious and such. Come on lighten up."
(BM) "Letting down my guard while in battle will cost me my life if I'm not careful." Baron was slightly surprised at the words that just came out of his mouth, as was Roxi. He tried to correct what he said, but he decided against it and just went back to the war room to think of the battles that would take place for the next day. He needed something big if he wanted to go reinforce his temporary allies.
