Chapter 128 - Chapter 197 Lun Hu Strikes Back

On the 11th day of combat, right after Roxi was kicked out of her sniping place, Baron would finally commit the majority of his forces to take on Xuan Feng's head-on. As was the case for the two commanders' battlefield. Both of them figured that if they were able to have even a one for one trade with this tactic, it would be worth it. Especially now that Lun Hu only had about 25,000 to their 90,000. Baron still had close to 120,000 and he figured that Xuan Feng had a little under 100,000. It was a bit difficult to tell with so many bodies so close together like that.

Unfortunately, as soon as Ke and Ba set out for their all-out attack, they got a rather surprising response. There were a lot of snipers on the mountain that the enemy flanking army had sent to go the long way. Commander Ba decided to go to the mountain himself with a bunch of strategists that could fight to take out the annoyances that plagued the two commanders. He figured that it was best not to disturb the battle that was already raging on between the two sides and just take care of it himself.

It took no more than a few minutes to find the snipers, but it would take them a few days to completely get rid of them as there were still a couple of thousand. Unfortunately, Ba completely misunderestimated the terrain of the mountain and he fell for traps all along the path to get to the snipers. Eventually, he had to call it off as he had too many casualties. While he was retreating, the enemy army kept shooting at them, and they could do nothing but get out of there faster. The further away they were away from them, the fewer casualties they would take as the accuracy decreases over distance.

This was no doubt a minor setback, but if Ke was still able to take out Lun Hu and/or his entire army, then it would be considered a win either way, and they would be able to get that sweet blueprint. Crippling an army was as good as saying they got to Lun Hu anyway. However, on their way back to their camp, Ba was intercepted by a couple of attachments of unknown origin and was taken out almost immediately. Ba was quite confident of his defense skill, but in front of this opponent, he was not able to hold a candle. Only when he was captured did he know who his captor was, it was Lun Hu himself.

Commander Ba would be so focused on crushing the enemies in front of him that he had not even noticed the commotion to his rear back at camp. He would only get the update once a messenger came by a few hours later to tell him of the bad news. Once he heard it though, he put double the effort into taking out as many enemy soldiers as he could until the end of the day when the sunset.

Baron and Zhang Da Zhi would get the memo during the night, and they too were surprised at the development that had folded. Commander Ba's personal squad and a couple of thousands of soldiers were all wiped out and Ba either dead or captured? This did not bode well, but it wasn't the end of the world just yet. If even one side was able to break through their respective enemies, then the effects would trickle to the other battlefields, leading to their eventual victory.

All Zhang Da Zhi had to do was to wait and defend against Jie Zi Fang and Jiang Yan until one of the two other battlefields wrapped up and he would come out on top of two of Lian Po's all-stars. Baron would likely not be able to break through anytime soon, so this was left on Ke's shoulders alone. If he was able to break through Lun Hu's forces and go on to fight Xuan Feng, then he would be the one with the greatest achievements of this large scale battle. The pressure was on, if they were able to defeat the all-stars, they would be so much better off than they were at the moment. Sure, they had ample time to prepare everything and they were the ones to decide everything about the battle, but it would still be the all-stars fault since they let Baron's allies do this.

From that point on, Commander Ke put everything he had into ensuring that he would be able to break through Lun Hu's army and assist Baron, followed by Zhang Da Zhi. He made sure to do this by being near the frontlines himself, along with many fighters to ensure his safety so that he would be able to lead more effectively. This greatly improved their progress and a few days later, they broke through what little soldiers that Lun Hu had. It was quite odd, the enemy leader had not shown up after he had taken the time to thoroughly rout and decimate his army to beyond a crippling state. Yet, there was no sign of Lun Hu anywhere.

At this point, commander Ke did not bother with Lun Hu anymore and he rushed straight to aid Baron in taking down Xuan Feng with all of his army in tow. Without their commander, the forces of Lun Hu were not nearly as powerful, and so, Ke was able to take most of them down through sheer number alone. After temporarily absorbing Ba's army, he had over 90,000 soldiers under his command. With all of these men following him, he rushed over straight to Xuan Feng's massive army of over 100,000. If he and Baron teamed up, it was likely that they would be able to beat him in just a few short days. Then, the remaining soldiers would all rush into Zhang Da Zhi's battlefield and win everything. Now or never.
