Chapter 102 - Atum, The Setting Sun

"Oh? You overestimate yourself, old man. Sure you are powerful, but do not forget that most of your power that came from worship energy is not that great anymore!"

I sneered as I lunged at him once more. We exchanged moves for several minutes until I said, "This is getting boring, stop holding back your power!"

Ra seemed hesitant for second, but then his eyes shone with determination as he stabilized himself and took a deep breath. I stood on the side and watched him with interest, wondering how he's going to fight.

The former Pharaoh was known to be powerful, but none of us, including my deceased sisters, knew the extent of his powers. Isis was stupid enough to confront him and extort him in the past, but she got lucky that the old man had been extra patient with her.

That said, his age has weakened his body, thus weakening his overall power.

Ra closed his eyes for a few seconds, and when he opened them, his expression turned fierce. Slowly, he chanted and said, "Five Shades Transformation!"

Suddenly, a dark yellow-orange light enveloped his body, then dispersed into the sky. Following that, the sky turned into the same color. The perfect word to describe this is simple, Dusk!

I looked at Ra, that appeared to be even older than before. The wrinkles on his face increased to cover it entirely. An inverted golden crown sat on his aged head while a dark orange halo hovered behind his back.

"You are supposed to be more powerful now?" I asked while I looked at him, and all that I can think about is...

"I am the setting sun, Atum," his voice caused the air itself to vibrate. Without any additional words, he leaped forward with a fiery dash and attempted to punch me.

On one hand, he was too fast, and on the other, I wanted to test this Atum. Nonetheless, he managed to hit my right arm. His physical strength surprised me when compared to his appearance; in fact, it was slightly weaker than my own!

"This isn't enough!" I chided. "All that flare for this small increase in power, how disappointing."

Atum didn't respond and he attacked again. This time, his speed was significantly higher.

"What the-"

I managed to dodge his attack this time, but it seemed that my speed was lower. No it wasn't that, the space around me was getting contracted!

After I retreated a few steps, my guard was raised as I asked, "What power did you gain?"

This time, Atum responded and crossed eyes with me, "This form's power is increased physical strength and to steal abilities from other lifeforms. Of course, some abilities cannot be absorbed such as the power of Divine Eyes."

I frowned as I contemplated his answer. Obviously he held back some information, and after some analyzing, I deduced that it works by touch. So as long as he doesn't touch me, I should be safe.

I snorted and held the Pangu sword, using my utmost speed to reach and slice at Atum. He tried to dodge but I increased my speed. After a few runs of attacks, I finally managed to plant a deep cut on his chest.

I stopped and looked at Atum. In the next few moments, a stunned expression appeared on my face.

Atum was smiling, but was he still Atum?
