Chapter 82 - Oh so it worked!

Something was wrong, this was certain, not even a feeling. Nephthys was never this lovely and she would never, ever be like that with me. This only made me raise my guard and be more careful around her. She wasn't as powerful as I was, but that didn't mean that she didn't have any abilities.

As I mentioned before, her level of smartness was almost as great as mine, and ordinary people would be no match for her.

I looked at her and said with a smile, "Well well well, this is quite the surprise, who would have thought that you can put on such a lovely sight to your dear husband."

"You've been away for a very long time, darling," she replied, "it's only natural that I please you after you returned home."

I approached her but didn't say anything. She looked in my eyes and remained silent too. Suddenly, after quite a long moment of silence, I said, "Apologies, my dear, I wasn't able to bring any gifts as I was busy with some matters."

She put on a beautiful smile that covered her wickedness well and said while putting her hand on my shoulder, "But you have already gave me the best of gifts."

"Oh? Is that so?"

"Oh yes! Don't you think that the killing of Osiris is the best gift?"

I was speechless at her response, and my body froze.

I couldn't move.

My nerves were immobilized and I couldn't even lift a finger. Something must have happened, she must have something to do with it.

And then I started to fall unconscious; however, before I passed out immediately I saw her true face, a smiling, wicked hawk.

...

For a very long period of time, I felt like I was in a dream, watching on as someone else played with my body and did awful things. But now, now I was awake.

I opened my eyes to a blinding light, only to be replaced by the figure of a beautiful woman. "Oh, you're finally awake. How do you feel?"

She retreated a little bit and I slowly straightened my back, looking at her with muddy eyes.

"My name is Nephthys, sorry for the inconvenience of your awakening."

My voice was as cold as my eyes, "I know who you are."

"I see, so you saw everything that happened?" she asked.

"Yes."

"What's your name?"

"And how is that your business?"

"So cold! Did my spell not work?"

"Although I don't like Set at all, I don't like you either, so don't expect me to put on fake expressions like you do."

"Oh so it worked!" she explained, completely ignoring my insult. That's right, after a few days of being under Set's control, I, Orion, have awakened.
