Chapter 2 - STAGE 2- Veena

"Veena!" Takato calls for the little girl, he moves to the mirror and observes his face. Dark amber eyes stare back at him. His shoulder length jet black hair against his fair skin and luscious plump lips makes him look like those American Abercrombie models. Takato had only done a few modelling jobs in his 23 years as an actor. A master of his field, the most sought after actor in the industry not only because of his impeccable acting skills but his ability to control his emotions. Takato is a very quiet man and does not enjoy the company of others and keeps mostly to himself all this adds an air of mystery to takato since he keeps his private life out of public eye.

"Papa", the little girl called out to him in her tiny voice. " Take this," he hands her a bundle of cash. " I will be heading to Kyoto for work, take care," and without looking back he picks up his suitcase and exits the penthouse suite he lives in with his daughter leaving her standing alone in the corridor, "Safe journey Papa," she mumbles to herself.

Their relationship has always been this way. Takato, since Veena's arrival previously left the child's care to his grandmother, she died of lung cancer a year ago leaving him with no choice but to bring Veena home with him. Since he has never spared a thought to anything but her upkeep, no bedtime stories, no father daughter bonding time they never even eat together since Takato almost never spends anytime at home. Veena never complains she is used to this. Ever since her grandmother fell ill when she was seven. She cleaned their little cosy house and did the dishes even went out to buy ingredients for food all on her own. She would make her own lunches and ride her pretty pink bicycle. She always wore dark shades which covered her eyes her grandmother bought as a gift for her. Sayako told her granddaughter that if anyone should ever ask she should just say her eyes a sensitive to light. Veena wasn't like other little girls she didn't like to play with her doll and ride an imaginary pony. Instead she read her late grandfather's books often. Books about science and psychology, her favourites were the biology books she was fascinated with the inner workingsof all living beings and much like her father. She kept to herself never making much friend. At the age of 10 Veena could be considered a young Marie Curie. More brilliant than the entire class put together. Her intelligence rivaled that of even her teachers.

Unlike the girls of her class Veena had a flame in her hotter than any Whitie General.

In this misogynistic and hierarchical world Where Whitie's and Gray's prey on the magicless "defectives" and normals. Only the strong may come up on top.
