Libria stood at the end of her bed. She was flipping through a book. Page after page she went. She was looking at it desperately. "Come on! Come on!" she shouted. Sweat ran down her face. Suddenly a guard busted through the door. Libra jumped.
"Queen.....Libria...." The guard was out of breath. "We think we spotted her"
Libria took a deep breath. "Thank you." She threw the book on the bed. "Take me to her"
The guard nodded and did as she asked. They walked through the hallway and out the house. There Libria saw a woman chained to a pole. Her body was only skin and bones. She had bruises all over her body. Her hair was torn in some places on her head. The chains dug into her skin making the skin rip. "W-what the hell?" She was in disgust. The woman looked nothing like her sister. She quickly turned to the guard. "What is the meaning of this? Is this some sort of joke?"
The guard shook his head. "Queen this IS her" He went to the woman. "See" He pulled the hair out of her face.
Libria's eyes filled with tears. Her heart began to ache. This woman was Kat. But it looked nothing like her at first glance. She ran to her. "What have they done to you?" She looked at her sisters bony face. She saw the chains digging into her skin. Dry blood was all over her wrists. "Help me!" She began to remove the chains but Kat screamed in pain.
"AHHH!"
Libria moved back. "No..."
"Queen I know its hard for you but we can't remove the chains. They are too deep in her skin. Even if we do remove them than Kat will bleed to death." The guard sighed as he stood by Libria.
Libria wiped her tears. "Who did this to her?"
"Mam we have no idea." He looked at Kat. "When we asked Kat who did this she answered 'I did this to myself! I had no help at all!' So we have no leads."
Libria looked at the ground. "Alright..." She looked at her sister. She sat on her knees in front her of sister. Tears ran down her cheeks. "I'm so sorry..." She looked at the ground crying.
"Hey...don't cry.."
Libria looked up at her.
"Don't cry over me." Kat laughed. "I'm not worth it. I did this. I had this happen to me. But its okay..." She started to cough up blood.
Libria wiped the blood off Kats mouth.
"Libria.."
Libria froze. 'How did she know my name?' She thought.
"I know you think I hated you for leaving me so long ago..*cough* ...but I promise everything is alright between us now..." Kat smiled a little.
Libria wiped her tears. "Thank you..."
Kat smiled. "Its my time..."
Libria shook her head. "No! I can't!"
Kat shushed her. "It is though. I can hear the gods calling for me now" She laughed.
Libria laughed a little but soon she became sadder. "I can't let you go...not again.."
Kat smiled at her. "You won't be...*cough*...your right...by my...side..." Kat took her last breath as her eyes still laid on Libria.
Libria busted out crying. She pulled her sister off the chains. Kats blood went everywhere but Libria didn't care. All she wanted to do was hold her sister one last time..."NO! PLEASE COME BACK!" She held her sister close to her. "Please! Pleaseeee!"
Suddenly Libria awoke. She quickly looked around. "Huh?" she saw that she was in her room. Her chest bounded. She threw the blanket off her as she sat on the edge of the bed. She stared at the ground thinking. "A dream?.....Why that kind of dream?"
"L? You up?" Kat's voice can be heard from the top of the stairs leading into the basement.
Libria roused to her feet. "Kat..." she whispered. "Yeah I'm up!" she yelled back.
"Good. Can you help me with dinner?" Kat yelled.
"Yeah! I'll be up in a minute" Libria sighed. "Thank the gods it was only a dream.."
When Libria walked into the kitchen she saw Kat standing next to the stove. Vegetables and fruits sat on the counter.
"Ahh good." Kat turned to Libria. "Can you start on cutting? I'm going to get the meat to cook" She turned back to the stove.
Libria smiled. She sat at the counter and started to chop.
"So how was your nap?" Kat asked still cooking.
Libria swallowed hard. "M-my nap? Well it was alright. Had a dream about the queen. That's all" she lied.
Kat turned the stove off an turned to Libria. "Oh. I bet it was awful" She laughed as she too started to cut.
Libria sighed. "You have no idea..."
At Alvina's house~
Riley sat on the sofa. He stared at the ground not saying a word while Alvina stood in the door frame. She had her arms crossed. She sighed.
"Riley.." She stared at him but quickly looked away. "I know you don't like it but its my family..."
Riley stood angry. "Still!" he sighed. "I think its unfair to me that I don't have any say in this! Its my baby too!"
Alvina started to tear up. "I know! But its also their grandchild!"
Riley kicked the sofa a little. "I don't care!" he started to tear up but quickly sucked it up. "When you have the right mind to fight this with me.." he walked to the door but stopped. "I'll be there waiting for you.." he slammed the door as he left.
Alvina sat on the sofa crying.
As Riley walked to his house rain started to pour down hard. But he didn't care. He continued to walk in it. His long dirty blonde hair became wet and went into his face, covering his eyes. His clothes became wet as well. Suddenly he heard yelling behind him. He stopped and turned. As he did he saw Alvina running up to him holding her belly. "Woman! What are you doing?" he said as she approached him.
She had tears running down her face. Her tears mixed with the rain. "I'm sorry..." she hugged him tightly. "I will fight this with you..." She looked up at him. "I promise..."
He looked down at her. He was clearly taller than her. He laughed. "Your cute when you cry"
She laughed as well. "Shush!"
He hugged her tight as well. "I'm sorry for being a jerk"
They kissed as the rain poured down on them both.
