Most of the nobles didn't want Abidemi as crown princess because of Aremu and the fact she left Valtis. Also, they pointed out that she most likely doesn't know the ways of Elovian society.
The Aremu argument was complete bull since there was evidence he wanted to kill his niece. Not many people used that as a refute. He only noticed two or three of them tried it though.
They also were shut down about Abidemi not knowing about Elovian customs. Thankfully Clayton, Lady Privya, Lady Sita, and the head of the Silverbone family refute that.
Yet the Valtis argument was the only thing that made most of the nobles worry. Most Elovian nobles care about family very much. Most of their social standing surrounded it.
Nobles here would want her to respect her parents and honor them.
